The oil slick might have been just before that corner. Which would explain why everyone was getting sideways, the speed that the Ferrari slammed into the fence and the damage to cars before entering the corner.

I hope they stopped the race at that point to clean up the debris and take care of the oil or whatever was causing that craziness.

That could also be the case, well it's Macau mate... Anything can happen and every year there has always been something bizzare happened.

1995 Macau F3 Start.

Fixed.

Yeah...Actually, upon looking at other videos featuring that corner...I believe that is just a Dead Man's curve AKA: a really bad corner.

I don't know if this has been posted yet:

The 2010 Sydney 500. The three championship contenders were out the front of the field after a restart when an unexpected downpour hit on the far side of the circuit ...

Seeing that again just makes me wish that someone would make a good V8 supercars game. Codemasters' F12011 isn't perfect, but it's the best F1 game on consoles. I wish a games company would take a chance and do justice to the V8's.

Codemasters did make a V8 Supercars game under the title TOCA 3 Race Drivers (although in Germany it's sold under the name of DTM 3 and V8 Supercars 3 in Australia and New Zealand) which featured cars and drivers from Season 2004 or 2005. It wasn't as great as it should be with an unrealistic handling etc. but it was enjoyable to race as just like any other Codemasters racing titles....

It's not a game, but there was a pretty good V8 Supercars mod for GTR2 that featured the 2008/9 season. I agree though, that a proper game is overdue.

I had that game. While it had it's moments, I'd really like someone to do a proper game based on a full season.

After seeing some excellent mods online, I can imagine there must be a few good V8 ones out there. Another series I think is well overdue it's own game is the IRL.

At a 2008 FIA GT3 race @ Monza on a wet course. The Ascari chicane can be tricky and late breaking into on a damp course is ill-advised:

notice the Viper at about 51 seconds spun and then the Ascari KZ-1 in the gravel..at Ascari.

This is what happens when the race officials aren't paying attention:

Normally, the NASCAR officials would have noticed the big oil slick on the track and called a caution if not a stop so they can clean it up. I'm sure they got an earful from the team owners, though.

One that sticks out for me doesn't involve any crashes; 1997 Detroit CART race when the Pacwest teammates, Mauricio Gugelmin and Mark Blundell, were running 1-2 and both run out of fuel on the last lap, gifting the win to Greg Moore

Those were the good old days of North American single seaters IMO.

I miss those days.

EDIT: Ninja'd

Pretty funny actually. Reminds me of this:
(best video I could find. Key event happens at 6:54)

Brumos Porsche ran out of gas on the home stretch and was coasting towards the checkered flag when the 2nd and 3rd place cars split him and steal the victory away in the closest Grand Am finish.

Actually I watched that race live, and it was hilarious!

It's not the track's problem, more like the drivers being too greedy...

I remember watching this live on speed channel. I remember the announcer basically calling the race and congratulating the Brumos team, but I guess he spoke to soon. I remember a similar race at the 3 (Or was it 6?) hours of Daytona in mid summer. The red dragon nearly had it, but Scott Pruett took it at the line by .01 sec.

Dont know if any of theese have been posted but they are just fantastic :D
