A vicious and preventable wreck in the Trans-Am series race at Mid-Ohio from a few weeks ago.

Well at least Sir Fix didn't drive the other way around and crash right into a Toyota Supra like a certain Super GT/JGTC driver someone posted here quite a few weeks ago... Of course, both that and Fix's example are not good examples of proper racing etiquette.

Or driving patience, for that matter.

In pretty much every racing series I know of there is a rule that says a driver should a) never drive the wrong way, and b) always rejoin a track as parallel to the track surface as possible.

This is why that rule exists.

A screenshot from another video on Youtube of the Trans-Am wreck.

I didn't want to link it to the thread for the reason of the driver moaning in pain for a good minute after the impact. After he caught his breath, appropriate phrases like ":censored:ing idiot!" and ":censored:ing moron" came out. Who can blame him?

No, in the real world we have a conscience! Lucky neither of them was hurt.
Well, you have a point here.
I just find it unacceptable because Nemechek didn't even apologize for this move. He just continued and started doing burnouts like nothing happened.

Well, there's the answer - a lack of conscience! :( I mean I've seen drivers have their team mates move out of the way look a little sheepish about the result, but to know you've gone out of your way to put someone in danger and to celebrate it as a "win" (sure you crossed the line first, but what did it cost you?) is just plain horrific. Ban.

An utterly despicable piece of driving goes unpunished? This is one of the many reasons I canning stand NASCAR events, because stuff like that is allowed and encouraged.

NASCAR absolutely does not take wins away (except one time when they did) for any reason at all. They'll probably fine one or both of them and then use the incident for advertising like normal.
