Motorsports events you have attended...

I was just curious what motorsports event everyone has attended. I love going to them. Here is the list of what I have been to.

ALMS Grand Prix of New England (Lime Rock Park, CT) - 2004
Falken Drift Showoff (Pike Peak International Raceway, CO) - 2004
Ferrari-Maserati Racing Days (Lime Rock Park, CT) - 2004
Monterey Historic Automobile Races (Laguna Seca, CA) - 2004
Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (Pikes Peak Toll Highway, CO) - 2002, 2003, 2004
Sno*Drift Rally (Atlanta, MI) - 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005
United States Grand Prix (Indianapolis Motor Speedway, IN) - 2002, 2003, 2004

I've been to a few short circle track races here in MI where I go to school as well as to the drags a few time, but not major events. We also run autocrosses and TSD rallies with the car club here at school sometimes; fun, but once again nothing major.

24 Hours of Daytona (Grand Am Rolex Series)
roughly 10x Indianapolis 500 (CART/IRL)
2x VIR 400 (Grand Am Rolex/Cup Series)
VisionAire 500 @ Charlotte (IRL)
Firestone Indy 225 @ Nazareth (IRL)
Chevrolet Silverado 200 @ Nazareth (NASCAR Truck Series)
2x Pocono 500 (Qualifying only) @ Pocono (NASCAR)

Cool. One of the guys from work lives near Pocono and has taken his car on one of the road course loops for a trackday. How close do you live to the track?

Well, I don't know if I can list the whole of my short track attendance. Here's a brief outline, though.

- I haven't missed an ISMA Hy-Miler Nationals weekend at Sandusky Speedway since 1992
- I've attended all but one Jim Shampine Memorial at Oswego Speedway since the event's inception
- Only missed one Brad Doty Classic at Attica Raceway Park since 1999.
- Attica Ambush regular since 1998
- Entire MSA Supermodified seasons from 2000 to 2003 (missed the Indiana and Michigan shows last year)
- 3 Berlin/M40 ISMA Weekend's
- 2 Eldora "King's Royal" World of Outlaws
- 2001 Historical Big One at Eldora Speedway
- Entire Attica Raceway Park weekly season, 2000 to 2003
- Haven't missed a supermodified show at Lorain County Speedway since 1995
- Haven't missed a supermodified show at Sandusky Speedway since 1988
- Oswego Classic weekend 2002
- Fremont Speedway season 2003
- ISMA Toledo/Sandusky double header with AVSS Super Sprints since inception
- regular attendee at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway since the track was paved
- regular attendee at the now defunct Cloverleaf Speedway from age 6 months to track's closing in 1992

And a whole lot more including visits to Lancaster, Kalamazoo, IRP, and so on and so on. Plus I've attended a veritable ton of sports car and open wheel races at Mid Ohio and Burke Lakefront Airport (I still have a hat signed by both Mario and Michael Andretti from their Newman-Haas days from when my dad and I got pit passes during CART practice and the Trans Am race).

Generally speaking, summers for me and my dad consist of tossing the camera, the keg-b-que, the cooler, and the notepad into the car and driving off for a whole weekend to attend races wherever we find them. It helps that Dad and I wrote a column for RPM Racing News for several seasons.

Cool to to see all the japanese GT cars in person finally. Most respected guy I saw there, other than Tsuchiya(drift king), was Isami Amemiya(founder of RE-Amemiya). shook his hand and got his autogragh. cool stuff.

i have pix online of some events i've been to. haven't posted the recent D1 competition pix i took in February.

yeh the festival of speed. i last went when mike gascoyne put the jordan into the hay about 50ms from the start.

After ive been drag racing i get ear ringing like mad. goes on for about 2 hours after the last car goes. the Jet Car at santa pod is awesome though, very special.

I hope to go to goodwood this year I look at Grandstand tickets and they cost £132 for an whole weekend.

£60 for an Saturday and £70 for an Sunday plus an a default entry ticket costs £35 for Saturday and £40 for Sunday.

And £70 for the whole weekend if anyone has been to goodwood, does the lowest ticket allow to get near all the cars in the Paddock.

Goodwood FOS in 2002 (1 day) and 2004 (whole weekend).
Any rally action in the north of England usually gets a quick blast up for a stage or 2. Including a Roger Clark revival rally last November with loads of mk1 and mk2 Escorts with 80's and 90's rally drivers. There was also some 911s in there too.
Hillclimb at Harewood North Yorkshire a couple of times a year. Went last weekend.
Usually head to Croft for something (touring cars if the support races are good or GTs) but finances are tight this year due to holidays to Australia. Managed to convince the wife to change planned date so we can be in Perth for the Rally Australia.

7:43 AM? On a Sunday? Ouch!

The normal tickets allow access to all areas including paddocks. You will not get closer to quality cars anywhere in the world. Last year we got weekend tickets and only bought a grandstand seat for the sunday as we thought it would be the busiest day. There is so much to see away from the track that you can wander about for the first 2 days then have a sit and a few beers while watching the cars go up the hill on the last day. I have quite a few pics from last year, if there is anything you would like give me a shout.

- Small events in my area ( Rally, some oldtimer races)
- WRC Rally of Germany in 2002
- Some DTM races

 - D1 Grand Prix in Odaiba, Tokyo 2004

Are you talking about the entry ticket's, allow access to all areas because I so want to go to Goodwood this year.

Also if my dad gets tickets this year for Goodwood, I might be able to meet some people from the forum.
