1 isn't the lowest number of points a point scoring driver has finished an F1 season on. Who has the record for the lowest number of points scored in a season, how many points did they score, which season was it and why did they get that number of points?

Lella Lombardi in 1975 on .5 points for her 6th place at the cut-short Spanish Grand Prix?

1/7th of a point... back in the day when timing was very rough seven drivers got the fastest race lap (Silverstone, early 50s?). I couldn't say who any of them were but one of those drivers must have gone on to score nothing else all season :D

You have the points, now I just need the rest of the answer

So it must've been Jean Behra with the 0.14 points?
Yep, Jean Behra was one of 7 drivers to be awarded part of the fastest lap point which F1 still had when he posted a 1:50 lap.

BONUS QUESTION: Which 6 other drivers also set a 1:50 time?

Gonzalez, Hawthorn, Marimon, Fangio, Moss, and Ascari.

OK, ex tempore question time 'cause I keep forgetting about any questions I come up with in advance.

In NASCAR, how many drivers have won a Busch/Nationwide/Xfinity Series race while being a Truck Series regular?

(Hint: This hasn't been accomplished prior to the 2010's)

Here's a mind cruncher for you.

Find the connection:

Piero Taruffi in 1952
Stirling Moss in 1958
Bruce McLaren in 1960
Stirling Moss in 1961
Pedro Rodriguez in 1967
Jacques Laffite in 1979
David Coulthard in 1997
Eddie Irvine in 1999
David Coulthard in 2003
Giancarlo Fisichella in 2005

Those drivers won the first races of those seasons.

Yes but there is something which links those particular drivers and not all the other drivers who won the opening races of a season.

Won the first race of the season but didn't take the WDC?

Jody Scheckter won the opening race of 1977 and Nigel Mansell won the opening race of 1989 but aren't on that list.

Those races were on the southern hemisphere?

Interesting thinking but not correct; Taruffi won in Switzerland and Moss won in Monaco.

There's something which links those drivers listed that does not link all the other winners of the opening race. For example:

Jody Scheckter won the opening race of 1977 and Nigel Mansell won the opening race of 1989 but aren't on that list.

They never won a GP World Championship?

And he's stolen it.

All those drivers have led the championship after the opening race but never won the world championship. It is also true for Nico Rosberg in 2014 but as he's an active driver and still has the chance of winning the title, I left him out of the question.

Your turn, Cracker.

Okay. A nice easy one since it's Friday.

Q) What links:

Only Hans-Joachim Stuck, Christian Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve, Kazuki Nakajima, Markus Winkelhock, Kevin Magnussen and Max Verstappen?

The first thing that sticks out is that they are all second-generation drivers. None of them is Graham Hill or Keke Rosberg's child so is it that they are the sons of non-world champions?

I thought that too, but Christian Fittipaldi.

Edit: actually, you may be right - Christian was Emerson's nephew.
