Could Jody Scheckter's win at Argentina in a Wolf be considered a privateer? That, to me, is very blurred. Hunt's win at Zandvoort in the Postlethwaite designed Hesketh 308 was far removed from the purchased Surtees and March cars the playboy team started off with.

To my mind, maybe last true privateer winner was Siffert with Rob Walker's Lotus?
Walter Wolf was a wealthy Canadian who in fact had his own team. If you draw the line between Privateer and Factory with the actual design and construction of chassis, WOLF was not a privateer. Walker was because he bought a lotus 49 from Colin Chapman complete with a DFW and then leased three or more from Cosworth on a rotational plan. There were many weird "kit" cars in the 60's and 70's. This ended when the Renault Turbo's became trustworthy and the rules went to either turbo or conventional and then to all turbo.

Lets try a new idea. Post a picture and see if the guys can guess Who, What , When, Where.

The first is Jack Brabham, Brabham-Climax at the US GP at Watkins Glen, 1965.

The 2nd is John Surtees, McLaren #14 and Jackie Ickx, Ferrari #26 at Monaco 1970. Probably at the chicane.

now I'll start with pix you can't google...lol
I did not use Google! I "knew it all" but did check the entry lists to confirm to myself the numbers matched the year. In the case of Brabham it might have been '65. It was 1964.

What models....corner is the old Gasometer hairpin. The location at the Glen was the infield where the cars were all in a steel building. The cars had to drive down a gravely road to the pits. We would stand on either side and look down as they drove by blipping their throttles. This was the last season of the 1.5 litre formula. Long way back. My first race of any kind was the 1966 USGP at the Glen.

My first race of any kind was the NWGP of 1962. Both heats were won by a famous GP driver. Guess who? Another semi-famous GP driver, bespectacled, came 2nd. Who was he?

No
No
Don't remember

At the 2000 German Grand Prix a disgruntled ex-Mercedes-Benz employee invaded to display his dismay at being let go; he did cost (McLaren-)Mercedes the win because Häkkinen was leading when the safety car came out.

At the 2003 British Grand Prix a deluded Irish preacher who deliberately makes a fool of himself by "spreading the word of the Bible" at big events ran up the Hangar Straight towards the oncoming cars. Trulli in the Enstone was leading at the time and Barrichello overtook him at the restart.

Can't say I remember the 2015 Singaporean GP too well but if recent seasons are anything to go by the race winner probably did lead the entire race.
I'm reminded of the Frankie Boyle quote, "And that smear is why you don't get a lot of streakers in Formula 1!"

Another string from Brands Test Day Spring 1976.

Jacques Laffite's Ligier JS 11 getting prepped. note the Wheel Doughnut on the side of the car and the tape with the message "Thanks James"....referring to the fact that James Hunt and Jacques rubbed in the previous race in Spain.

Final Prep. They were actually on pit in because the pits were a shambles due to their being rebuilt.

Correct, Dan Gurney driving the red Arciero Brother's Lotus 19-Climax won the 1962 NWGP.

Outstanding job you did there finding and attaching the program literature. Great memories for me are evoked! Thank you ever so much!

I recall the Lotus 19 "Monte Carlo", based on the successful F1 Mk 18, was clearly the best car that day, I was impressed by the bellowing V-8 specials and the very sexy birdcage Maserati - I think there were 3 of them there - and looking ever so much fun to drive.

The Blackburn Bullet - has to be Carl 'Foggy' Foggerty? - although i don't ever recall him getting called that.

Wasn't 'The Swerve' Eddie Irvine?

The Bear is Denny Hulme.
Johnny Carwash is a translation of Giovanni Lavaggi.

No Monza Gorilla?

Between you you've got nearly all of them.

No Monza Gorilla?

I was tempted to include it but I didn't think it was noteworthy enough.

I had someone else down for Peter Perfect (a touring car driver) and for those who don't speak German, Bergkönig means King of the Mountain.

Bergkönig
Hans Stuck, King of the Mountain

These are fun. Here's few more to guess:

The Gas Man
Jumper
The Abruzzi Robber
Quick Vic
Terrible Ted
Taffy
Rowdy
Super Swede
The Flying Mantuan
The Snake
Pancho
Fireball

The Abruzzi Robber is Luigi Fagioli, which is strange because he wasn't from Abruzzi he was from Marche.

Quick Vic is Vic Elford.

Super Swede could be Ronnie Peterson.
