It has been confirmed that it will be CGI (like the originals first trailer) but will hopefully show some stuff that the dev's are hoping to improve on.

So stay tuned :)... only another half an hour, just hope its more realistic than Motorstorm's original CGI trailer where in the end, although great, the game didn't look anything like it! :indiff:

More MotorStorm Cometh

IGN unleashing first teaser trailer of Sony's tropics-bound MotorStorm sequel today.

UK, March 12, 2008 - You probably think you already know about MotorStorm 2 if you've been following the torrent of information leaks springing forth from the internet over the last couple of weeks.

Here's what you should definitely know though: if you swing by IGN later on today at 6pm GMT, you can feast your eyes on the first MotorStorm 2 teaser trailer. Despite some haggling, Sony adamantly refused to let us spoil the surprise and give you a sneak-peak at the game so you'll just have to believe us when we say it has the potential to blow your socks clean off your lower appendages.

So far, it's been revealed that MotorStorm 2 does away with the barren desert landscapes of the first game, replacing all that brown with lush vegetation in a tropical island setting. It features water hazards, destructible scenery and monster trucks.

Finally, online play is rumoured to be complemented by four-player split-screen race-offs, which is always nice in a retro sort of way.

So, just to recap, that's 6pm GMT, today, Wednesday March 12. Be there or be completely indifferent.

Watch out for that tree! :ouch:

Looks amazing - I really hope it has an offline multiplayer mode, since Motorstorm is the one game that has most impressed friends who have had a go of my PS3..., and it's annoying not being able to race your buddies over a couple of tins of beer!

It's been confirmed that it will have 4-player split screen.

The trailer looked awesome and I'd wager that it is pretty accurate.

It sucks, my little laptop is so dated I can't watch video without it jumping. Heck even you tube is out of the question.

Very cool trailer. If the finished product is 75% of that it'll be killer.
Nice....Maybe by the time this comes out I might be able to win an online race. :banghead:
We might just have to play some weekend. :D

That would be great. Last night i sent out a bunch of "add a friends" and you were one of them.

It looks overall the same. Feels like something a la Battlefield 2142.

I hope they fix that goofy physics system...that's what made the first Motorstorm freaking impossible past the first 3 levels.

CGI video looks awesome. I hope that actual ingame quality would reach at least %60 of that video

I have Motorstorm and it got kind of boring after a while, although I still play it.
But we need more modes!! There are just two in Motorstorm, "Play" and "Online".:grumpy: That's what killed the game.
And this trailer looks good, but the teaser for the first Motorstorm looks better. Hehe.

Cheers,

-TT-

I kinda agree, the first one was a lot more brutal, I do like the nod at the end in this one to the original where it ends with someone about to get squished! :sly:

But this time I hope its a more accurate representation of the trailer because Motorstorm kind of let me down when I saw it after seeing CGI...

Any word on physics yet? Or is this an overhyped, overpriced expansion pack a la Battlefield 2142?

This is the only piece about physics ive found so far..

Motorstorm Pacific Rift will have 16 brand-new tracks, twice as many as the last outing. We're shown the new vegetation technology, which is there to be bent, broken, and crushed. Only the larger vehicles can destroy it, so smaller vehicles have to avoid it or follow larger vehicles.

In the latest issue of D+PAD magazine they have an exclusive interview with Nigel Kershaw, the game director for MS2 who reveals quite a lot of details about the game and it's features. There are also some decent screen shots.

The interview starts on page 17.

The interview doesn't mention anything about a wheel? If it's not compatible with a wheel, I'm not going to buy it! :ouch:

I was just reading up on Motorstorm 2 Pacific Rift on Sony Playstations official website and was reading up on some information. One of which grabbed my intrest...alot.

Key Features:

* The Island - A brand new radically different location for the festival.
* Unpredictable Events - Never the same race twice. Events will take place to change the race on a lap to lap basis.
* Split Screen Play - Play with up to 3 buddies on the same screen.
* The Monster Truck - An all new vehicle class added to the core vehicle selection for a total of 8 different vehicle classes.
* Immersive Online Experience – A radical re-look at the whole MotorStorm online experience, focusing on ease of use and breadth of gameplay all while tearing it up in races up to 16 players.
* Improved Actions - A new level of control; punch, duck and ram using a new control layout.
* Free-play - Race how you want by creating your own race tickets.
* Photo Mode - Snap your greatest victory or your most visceral crashes and share them with the world.
* New Rating Systems - It’s not all about winning; it’s also about how you perform.

Photomode. That is awesome, I really want this game now. Just imagine what kind of photos you would be able to get....

That Trailor looked like another "This CGI and will be nothing like it, but it will be boringggg..." lol.

The fact that Motorstorm (the original) was graphically brilliant is besides the point then?

I personally think the graphics will be up to scratch by the time its released, from the 40% complete run throughs I've seen it looks pretty good now. Also seeing splitscreen up and running in the 40% run throughs were great. Now we just to have more content than the original. :)

The game turned out to be NOTHING like the video everyone saw and the gameplay was just as boring. They go and show all this crazy racing where motorcycles get trampled, parts are flying, and everything gets trashed. The we get how the gameplay looks in the actual game and it's just another racing game in a circle... oh, with nitro. yay.

All I'm saying is don't promise something you can't deliver. What they WANT you to get excided about in the CGI is NOTHING like what the game actually gives you.

: Shrugs: Callin it as I see it.
