Music you listen to while driving!

(singing) "Days go by, and still I think of you... days when I couldn't my live without you..."

Not getting the kinds of reactions you want, TruSake? The last GT I've played with music on was GT1. Sometimes, you kind of get sick of racing with some music. Not to bash on the PS2, but if the PS2 had the XBOX capability of taking burned songs and play them on your console while racing or whatever, maybe there would be favorites. Since I played GT4 at EB, I couldn't really notice some of the music, but for the most part, most of the music seemed more like hip-hop, your average rock, and some bumping remixes. There's pretty few games I admit listening to music to. One of the games in which I listen to music all or most of the time has been the WipeOut series. Maybe when there's a bunch of music that you enjoy, you'll want to race with it almost all the time. WipeOut games don't really have some bad music. I mean, Future Sound of London, Timo Maas, Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Prodigy, the Propellerheads, Sasha, you name it, and I've probably raced with their music on.

i have allways played whit out music,i like to hear my egine..

yea, same with me, I play with no music to hear my engine, also to concentrate to win an important race, but for just a drive, or to keep awake, I definetly play my cds.(electro/industrial).
works for me in endurance races when you get bored.

Funnily enough, a similar topic on racing music came up on another forum I'm on. This is the list so far:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Greatest Hits
Pearl Jam - rearviewmirror
Anything by Prodigy
Paul Oakenfold - Speed
The Seatbelts - Pushing the Sky
Rod Zombie - Dragula
Anything Fatboy Slim
Guns 'n Roses - Garden of Eden
Velevet Revolver - Set Me Free
Led Zepplin - Immigrant Song
Metallica - Fuel

No, I haven't listened to most of those songs, so don't complain if it's not that great.

But there is one song we all agreed upon, the number one driving anthem of all time (and my Car Club's theme song to boot ... I can't believe no-one has mentioned this yet): The Distance - Cake.

Ontopic:
Well...

Frequently I listen to death metal.. like Luciferion or Calvary Death. Also some Fusion/instrumental/Progressive. Rarely some hNRG techno. Thrash metal to fill slots.

but, as i mentioned in a topic i forgot already, this music seems inadequate to GT4.

it hasnt been released yet here but ill most likely listen to some:
eminem
50 cent
linkin park
offspring
limp bizkit
good charlotte
ludacris
all on the mp3 so i dont bother the neighbours

I listen to Steve Roach in my real car and while in my simulator.

Check him out.... http://www.steveroach.com/MP3/stream.php?song=82

I actually burnt up a couple of my own "GT Mixes" and added songs that make me feel like I'm driving fast, or songs about driving. Here are a few I've added:
Fear Factory - Cars (cover)
Earshot - Get Away
Snot - Joy Ride
Strata - Piece by piece
Deftones Feat. Maynard James Keenan - Passenger
Nonpoint - Move Now
Pantera - 5 Minutes Alone
Sepultura - (forgot the song)
Thought Industry - (forgot the song)
Tool - Pu****
along with some songs from the Swordfish soundtrack.

Can't get any better than that, I listed only my favorites, if you like this list, and want to know what other great songs I have chosen, just drop a fontline, and ask.

Edit: sorry for posting it twice, before it actually came to the "thanks you're message has been posted, etc.) I hit "stop" and added something in real quick. I didn't actually know it'd get sent through.

Haven't listened to music, whilst playing, since GT1 and even then I'm sure I ended up listening to my own stuff!

So, not planning to listen to anything other than the ubiquitous screeching tyres and the odd pop of exhaust.

Let's face it, GT has never had a good music selection, maybe you'll like 3 or 4 but we all have different taste in music, some people like Rock, or Hip-Hop or Dance etc...
So until GT comes out with a "Use your own USB flash drive to play the in-game music" here's my top 5

Wamdue Project - King of My Castle
Planet Patrol - Play at your own Risk
Barthezz - On The Move
Dirty Vegas - Days go by
Danii Minogue - I Begin to Wonder
I dont listen to music while I do my ASS kicking. I dont see the point.

I usually put some cd from my collection in my radio while playing GT4...

Things like : Any primus albums ( especially antipop :) )
any Buckethead cd exept meabe colma or electric tears which are not suitable for racing...
Dream Theater : especially live at the budokan... made a cd copy of my DVD so I can listen to it :)

Powerman 5000: only one album is good though...
Thrice : all three cds!

I run my PS2 through my PC monitor and speakers and then run my iPod through the second speaker input so they come through the same speakers. I use the same playlist I use while driving in real life.

The list is pretty eclectic. I have 97 songs ranging from Mancini's "Peter Gunn Theme" to Zeppelin to Evanescence to Linkin Park. The key is they all make me want to drive fast. I keep it down enough so that I can hear my engine but loud enough to at least feel the beat.

On a side note: does anyone know how to rip the 3 or 4 songs I like from the GT4 soundtrack or am I just better off getting on Kazaa whenever I finally decide to not play GT4 for more than ten minutes?

I put my iPod on shuffle, and it works well for me.
Its cool because I can go from hearing a Bikinni Kill song to The Beatles to NaS to The Damned to John Mellencamp to Tupac to Sade to Wu-Tang to ZZ Top to Massive Attack to White Stripes to Peaches.
Or, I just listen to my playlist that is made up of pretty much every Beastie Boy song ever released.

You have gotta love the iPod.

I take my dmx cd and put in my big ass stereo system. I wana listen to it really loud but then my ****ing neighboor comes to my door and begins to *****

I didn't think the soundtrack was that bad, but for some reason it's abnormally quiet, even on 16 volume, so sometimes I just have my winamp on shuffle.

Any thing black, death or power metal seems to make me play a bit better infact 2morrow might be forced to make myself a cd just for the 24hour races

W00 for a-track cd players :D

Now Playing - Mortician - Hacked Up For Barbeque/Zombie Apocalypse

I have a rca home theater system with 10 kenwoods so with the cd outlet(50 disk cd changer)I play pink floyd, KoRn, hendrix, ozzy, aic, nin, black sabbith, apc ,try redmpition ,montley crue ,Ac/Dc ,Flames Tear ,bls, manson, 3 doors down, shine down, metallica, hate breed ,dave matheues band ect...
the rest of the speaker times go to the cars

NOW playing Flames tear life's a b__h

I'm lovin the GT4 soundtrack, though I do agree that it's far too quiet. Personally I can't be awake and not be listening to music, whatever im doing!

Award for most inspired musical addition to the GT series has to go to the inclusion of classical! Apart from the slightly dodgy jazz/William Orbit-style version of Satie's Gymnipodies #1 it's great to have something other than dull hard rock to drive to.

How anyone can put up with just the whiney electronic engine noises in GT is beyond me...if it comes down to gear issues then use automatic...at least then you can have music on.

There are some descent songs on the GT4 soundtrack.
The Blaster's song is great, and an inspired choice. I haven't really listened to The Blasters since high school.
I love The Commodore's song, what is it..."Machine Gun" or something. Proves Lionel Richie has contributed more to the world then the funniest woman on TV.
I can do without the crappy modern rock on there. Especially Papa Roach and Jet.
Jet is the new Lenny Kravitz...pure rip off, not a damn thing original about them.
But the sountrack ain't all bad.

Still, its all about the iPod.

I usually listen to music when driving, but it's turned down. I've taken all the rap, generic rock, and techno off the list in GT4. I think my playlist is down around 15 or 20 songs. Panama is really the only good song in GT4, but I'll make due.
Otherwise, I've got a computer and a stereo in the same room, so I've got all the classic rock I can handle when I get tired of the GT4 music. Besides which, if I'm doing a tough race I'll just turn the music off.

honostly, who listens to music while playing GT... :yuck:

I do. Not the ingame music, though. I turn off all the music and sound effects and just let the engine sounds and road noises come through. I play music on my stereo while I race, but never so loud that I can't hear when I'm in the draft and when I'm not. Looking at my disc changer, I have Frank Sinatra, Roy Acuff, Jack Teagarden, Early Barrelhouse Piano Blues and the Read or Die OVA soundtrack loaded up. I love rolling onto the Mulsanne Straight when "Bring all the wisdom to Great Britian!" from the ROD OST comes on. It's perfect timing.
