What genra's do you listen to? What was the last Mp3 or CD you played?

I've been listening to Dido, Foo Fighters, and Jackopierce a lot lately.

edit:This is a checkbox poll. You can choose any/all options that apply.

What do you think he's singing about in that song, "My Sacrifice"? I've got a few people telling me different things, and I've got my own opinion.

ACK! You could have checked them all. It's a checkbox poll.

I checked most of them.. I listen to everything. For a while, it was a lot of the nu metal stuff. Now, it's a little of everything. I'm a music major.. voice lessons, instrument lessons.. the whole bit. (Actually, music is one of two majors I have). If I listed bands I like a lot, we could be here forever. Most of my cds are pop, rock (nu metal included) then I also have country and Christian cds (cds that I sang on).

Rock for me and my family. Good music. I don't own any CDs, but my dad and my brother have hundreds.

Rap sounds like crap to me. How can you say that someone talking with a beat in the backround as having talent? And then there's all that "huh a huh" that Snoop doggy doo and the others say that just sounds stupid to me.

And rap created the whole "I'm cool if I'm in my Neon and turn the bass all the way up and my car rattles" When me and my brother see this, we just start laughing and pointing at the person(s) and they will usually turn the valume down.

i enjoy many types of music and here are a few of my favourite bands/artists in no particular order except for the first one

;)

U2 (the best band ever)
Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
The Corrs
Radiohead
Puddle of Mudd
Tantric/Days of the New
Creed
Nickleback
The Tragically Hip
Stabbing Westward
Dido
The Cardigans
Fuel
Crazytown
Coldplay
Live
Moby
Sarah McLaughlin
Wide Mouth Mason
3 Doors Down
rap's alright but can be pretty lame sometimes (i hear enough of it when i'm with my friends and i think it makes me stupider as a result)

Mazkid ....i know what you mean......my buddy and i always cut up people when they're driving around and their cars are falling apart from the bass

i am well into nu-metal at the moment and by far the best supplier of this kind of music is the bizkit ;) LIMP BIZKIT STYLE !!
guess you's already knew this from my signature :D :D
favourite old bands are =

queen ( favourite band of all time !! )
genesis
pink floyd

favourite solo artists =

david bowie
bob marley ( i know he had the wailers but he was great solo )

;)

now these guys were true musical and lyrical genius's and i dont think i will ever grow out of them :) :smilewink

i like rock music also, my favourite bands i listen to at the moment are

manic street preachers (my favourites)
coldplay
linkin park
limp bizkit

:D :D

I'm quite into nu metal, although my fave band of that genre is Linkin Park (going against the flow of the thread there!). Mainly I'm a dance fan though, so I ticked lots of the boxes!

I've been doing a lot of web programming recently, so have been listening to a lot of different stuff, so here are the albums sitting by the CD player on the computer:
New Order: Get Ready
Sasha & Digweed: Northern Exposure
Ministry of Sound: Clubber's Guide to Trance
Simple Minds: Live
Linkin Park: Hybrid Theory
Various Artists: Trancendental Euphoria
Skint: Brassic Beats Vol3
Rachmaninov: Piano Concerto No2

I checked everything...I'm flexible that way, y'know? :)

My personal fave are the Cowboy Junkies. I just got their newest live album,"Waltz Across America", and it 0wnZ j00! Any other CJ fans on GTPlanet.....?

Yea man, my sisters used to listen to the Cowboy Junkies and I kinda got hooked. I don't listen to them much anymore, but I did a few years ago. That's really cool.

I hear ya, man....if you're going to listen to metal, you may as well listen to old Metallica. It has at least a little virtuosity. It's harder than these nu-metallers ever dreamed of being, too...:fdevil:

Agreed. And the guys in `Tallica are musicians. They actually know how to write, play, and record REAL music. And they put on a pretty darn good show too (:

I listen to Nu-metal mostly, but I listen to some of the old bands too, I mean none of these guys would be around if it wasn't for the likes of Metallica, Nirvana etc.

So you guys that listen to Metal, what are you voting for in the poll? I didn't list metal because I've always classified it as a "sub-genra" of Rock, kind of just a heavy Rock.

It also looks like I listed them pretty close to the order of popularity, with the exception of Pop. Wild ...

I listen to all different kinds of crap like Brotha Lynch Hung, Twista & the Speedknot Mafia, Usher, Shakira, Jagged Edge, Metallica, Staind, ICP, Mudvayne, Powerman 5000, AC/DC, Pantera, 2-pac, Master P, Phil Collins(did I just say Phil Collins:confused::D), Pink Floyd, POD, etc...

I listen to all sorts of things. But mainly hip-hop (not to be confused with rap), techno, and alternative are what I listen to.

Right now alternating in my car's CD player are the Beastie Boys, the Bloodhound Gang, and a techno mix CD I made.
