Mustang's new F150 thread

You're crazy if you think
I can afford either of these.
Here we go again! Sold my 92 GMC 1500 last week, and picked up this 94 F150! 302 V8, auto trans, 3.55 limited slip rear end, 4x2. Race truck in the making... when I win the lottery

Ended up paying $1900 for this one, so I made money off selling the old Sierra to throw back into the Ford. Solid truck overall, just needs some suspension work. All 4 tie rods need replaced, the front springs and all shocks are worn out, and the axle pivot bushings are done. So $300 under the front of this truck and it's going to be like new. And I just happen to have that in my pocket from the sale of the old truck :) Oh, and, the AC is functional, and very cold. That's a big deal for me, I've never owned something with working AC, and mind you, I live in Florida

I also completed my first "mod" today, 5% tint on the back and side windows. I'm aiming to be able to leave the AC full cold, and the fan on it's lowest setting, and be comfortable when it's 95 degrees out. Lofty goal? Maybe. We'll see how it goes!

Future plans for this truck are about the same as my old blue F150, 2" level, 32x11.50 tires, 15x10 wheels, cab lights, black out a bunch of crap, etc. Stay tuned

No immediate plans to change the color, just black out everything else so it looks more like an Army truck

Eventually (when I win the lottery or something) I'd like to have it painted Sonic Blue with chrome prerunner bumpers, but that's a pipe dream...

Never find a truck like that around here for that price, it looks in very nice shape, is the body and paint original ?

Nice truck again! 👍 How many miles are on it?

Thanks!

Reported to be 168,000. Can not confirm beyond car fax due to the LCD in the odometer having burst and it's just black now.

The body is all original, but it has been repainted before. Same color as it left the factory, just freshened up from the evidence I see

Easy way to tell if its rolled over is to check the brake pedal pad for wear.

Nice truck, love the OBS's. Not a bad price for a clean truck either.

Brake pedal is starting to wear through. This truck has a broken digital odometer so I may never know. But I do work for Ford now so in theory I can use one of the tools in the shop to find out what the cluster is reading and program a new one.

There ya go. Hook me up with some 80-86 F series parts :D

Thanks guys!

It's currently sitting next to my house, not using gas. Really debating how fast I want to fix this thing up, since finances wouldn't like me if I spend everything I had to make the truck exactly what I want...

Think I'll just start with the new tie rods and F250 coil springs. Do my alignment once instead of twice work

Started the blacking out. Ignore the overspray, it's quicker to rub it off than mask it... Also, stick with plastidip. I used the Dupont version, just to see how it was, and it's not as good. Sprays real thin, likes to run really easy. I'll probably end up redoing this thing cause I'm not 100% on it. Only **** that I notice, but whatever.

Your truck looks like it's in real nice shape. 👍 I wish I could find something even close to that here.

The bumper looks good. I'm typically not a fan of blacked out vehicles, but I dig yours. :)

You should black out the whole thing like the "NITE" series F-150s.

You should black out the whole thing like the "NITE" series F-150s.

That's kinda what's going to happen. Bumpers, wheels, grille, headlight bezels, headlights, tail lights, mirrors, and windshield trim will all be black. Going for a kind of military look, best way to go with this color in my mind. Cream and chrome just doesn't do it for me

New suspension is all up under her! Radius arm bushings, polyurethane I-beam bushings, new shocks, Moog F250 coils, adjustable camber bushings, and all 4 new tie rods!

And now I have a water pump to do :( I'm scared about this pump, I really don't want to pull the damn timing cover

This one also have a 300 in it? If it's a V8 you shouldn't have to pull it.

Water pump went smoothly 2 days ago at work!!!

I was so scared those stupid long bolts were going to break off and make me pull the timing cover to go get them, but I got lucky. Just need to get the thing aligned, and I can start my search for tires  I love the ride of this truck with new parts on it, it's firm, but controlled. Best out of any of the trucks I've owned so far, so I can honestly say I feel like I'm moving up in the world :)

Progress has been really slow on this truck, sadly. But, there is progress! Lucked my way into a staggered set of 235/75 and 265/70 BFG tires with full tread, so I slapped my 1.5" wheel spacers in behind the stock wheels with the new rubber, and it's looking pretty decent now! More to come very shortly, almost have all my money together for the front end makeover, gauge cluster, stereo, and new seats :)

Day I brought her home, before the F250 coils and all new front suspension

And here's how she sits right now. Been too busy to really get any glamour shots, but there ain't been much glamour added so moot point

I wonder how those lights would look with the lenses cut out like your blue one.

Big changes are coming to the interior of this truck shortly. I've started painting, and I'm really excited with how it's going to transform. Currently she's got a basic, tan interior. Bleh. So I'm in the process of converting it over to a black and red theme. Going to be black panels, black dash, etc, with a porno red bench seat, and a couple red accents :)

Something like this....

Those are the lights, grille (except the interior will be factory black, not white like this) and bumper I'll be putting on this truck eventually. The aftermarket actually supports 92-97 F-series lights, so I don't have to make them this time around!
Love the color.. I love the chrome too actually.. I'd love to see this low :)

I'm so on the fence about lifting or dropping this one, it's not even funny. It's a V8, posi-traction, long wheel base, 3700 pound truck, which plays well for it being quick with a fresh motor. But the other side of me wants to sit it bull dogged hard, with flared out fenders, big tires, full on baja style. Good thing I can't afford either option yet, because it'd probably drive me up the wall making that decision

Cleaned her up last night. Now the roof is cream, the truck shines, and the yard is mowed. So naturally, it became a small photoshoot!

And a bonus of my creampuff, and my sister's boyfriend's 96, carrying the kayak I just bought from him

Thanks 👍 She's got one piece of rust, on the underside, in a completely non-cosmetic, and non-functional area of the floor, so I can fix it up pretty easy!

Currently I'm in the process of chasing down my oil consumption issue. I'm not sure if I've got rings going out, bad intake seals, or just a messed up PCV valve.. Tomorrow I'll throw in a new valve and see what happens. If it continues giving me issues after that, I'll have to buck up and buy a compression tester. I'm hoping the rings are good, because if the issue is in the heads, that opens up a LOT of aftermarket replacement opportunity plus the perfect time to fit this thing with some long tube headers :)

After, of course, I buy a new motorcycle...

Very cool truck. I considered buying one for a first vehicle but got something else instead.

I finally got this thing waxed! Well, at least the cab, the sun went down before I got to the bed. And it's rained every day since, go figure....

Also, got my oil consumption problem solved. PCV valve was FUBAR'd, hanging open and just recirculating a metric **** ton of oil back into my intake. Like, 1 quart every 300 miles, minimum. New valve in, and ran an induction service through my vacuum system to blow most of it out. Going to run another through the intake track and go again through the vacuum just to make sure I've got it all cleaned out. I cleaned a lot with that service, seeing as it shot all that oil out the pipe and the underside of my truck is now absolutely coated with the ****. Purple power is now on the shopping list

Also threw a fuel filter at it, and oh my god I swear it picked up 10 horsepower. The one on there was so clogged up it's a wonder it even ran as well as it did. Now it idles smoother, actually makes power in the mid range, and the exhaust is noticeably louder

So, I had some fun at work yesterday....

Always wanted to see what Moto Metal 962s would look like on my truck. I approve. Those are a little big though

Also I waxed the entire truck today, and I'm in shock how good this paint still is
