Mustang's new F150 thread

Those are BFG Long Trail T/A. Not my first choice, but I stumbled on the (free) deal for the full set and couldn't say no. Something that keeps creampuff going while I save money, fix other things and buy wheels/tires. 235/75/15 front, 265/70/15 rear. With 1.5" wheel spacers on the stock wheels. Can not complain, rides smooth at 85mph, but doesn't fit the look I want haha

I saw the traed pattern on the edge and thoughtt were like a Wrangler Radial. Thanks lol

Without a doubt! They've been on since October and I haven't seen any wear yet. They're getting the job done until I figure out what I'm doing stance wise

Slash, here's my front end with the 1.5" spacer, 235/75 tires

I've also started blacking out the grille. Still need to do the headlight bezels, but grille looks good. Custom did the emblem too. Just like on my '91 you can pop the blue oval out of the trim on the front, and the blue can be sanded off from the back to leave just clear plastic and the chrome lettering, then I painted black behind it. I dig it, and it pops with the darker grille

Looks good! Mine stick out about a half inch more since I have 2" spacers and the same 235/75 tires. I'd much rather have your rims though! Not a huge fan of my Alcoa aluminum ones.

I prefer the Alcoa wheels now. Back when I was 17 and bought the blue ford, it had the alcoas, and I replaced them with a set of these because I wanted black wheels. Then I stumbled on to 15x10 centerline aluminum wheels that were carbon copy of the alcoa, and those are the ones I painted black and rolled with forever.

I want another set of them. 15x10 of course. I keep telling myself I want to do chrome wheels, but I'm not sure. I'm about to paint these steel ones black, since I have the polished beauty rings and chrome caps. Luckily I've got a long time to think about it while I save

I'd be willing to trade my Alcoas if you'd be down for it. They have high pressure valve stems in them.

Finally got off my ass and finished my headlight bezels to match the grille!

Now I really need some new headlight housings to set this thing off

I'd be willing to trade, just would need to find 2 more tires for my 18s so I have wheels to roll around on while the mail takes care of shipping.

Is the clearcoat peeling away from those anywhere? My old ones only polished up halfway because half the clear was gone and half was there... So the parts that peeled shined up better than the parts the clear stayed on lol

The clear coat is there they are just corroded. A good sanding will clean them up no problem.

Well, got some bad news today. The 4 18" rims I scored off a brand new Tundra are the wrong bolt pattern :( 5x150, I need 5x139.7. That's kind of annoying. But hey, they're OE wheels, never been mounted, gotta be worth something!

Spacers! They make them that adapt. I just got my bud a set that went from 5x139 to 5x137.

My truck already has adapters on it

I don't want to have to pull a spacer off my truck, install a new spacer, just to throw a spare tire on it, way too much money and effort when I can probably trade these away for some stock wheels.

Plus I just dropped $260 on ole Creampuff this week, so gotta rebuild the truck fund. Finally got off my ass and replaced all 4 speakers (blew out 3 of them) with some Pioneer units, and replaced the old 300w amp that finally died, with a 600w unit. Rated 200wrms, 600w max, powering a 14 year old Pioneer subwoofer with a lot of dry rot only meant to run 125wrms and 400w max. It's been a week, and I haven't blown the sub yet, but I'm just waiting for it to go

Also got a deal on a tool box finally! Black, low profile, and deep enough it almost goes down to the bed floor.

Been a good truck week

Redneck 6" drop kit installed the other weekend...

In other news, I've been chasing a clunk/bang/stick-slip kind of noise from my frame for like 2 weeks now. It's been driving me off the wall. It's finally gotten a little more pronounced, and I found that my trans cross member is cracked by the trans mount. So I'm hoping heavily that is the cause of all these pops from the frame! I also found TSB 97-3-10 that outlines the noises I've been chasing, and a nice chart of what causes what and what's most common. It was very helpful, I must say. Feast you eyes on it Slash, it covers all of these things from 80-97

You really need to get some new headlight, those things are super cloudy. With as clean as your truck is, they kind of look out of place.

Could not agree with you more, Joey. I'm wanting to re-do the front end all at the same time, so that's the only hold up. Just trying to find a bumper from a F-250 with the factory fog light cut outs, and after I find that, I'll get a chrome grille and headlight bezels to go with some chrome, clear lights.

It may seem like a lot of chrome, but I'm just shooting to do the outside of this truck like a Lariat trim, and no added chrome, just factory pieces

I have some left over trim pieces and chrome laying around if you need it. I have a lot of argent as well.

Teaser of my custom tail lights. Pictures on the truck coming as soon as I get off my ass and take them lol

Currently the best I can do with the lighting at work, but they're on the truck! No LED flasher needed either, which is cool

Also, go Bolts!

Sorry about not getting back to you yet on the length dlvetween the hub and fender. Between my no alignment and front end damage I didn't want to give you a false number yet.

Also be careful with LED tail lights if you have an E4OD trans. The trans runs off a brake signal as to when to down shift and it does NOT like LEDs even with resistors.

I do have the E4OD, but have not had any shifting issues at all. Just connected up the wires and continued to drive the same as before. May be because these are trailer lights inside my housings, but I'm not sure.

Also had some fun during TS Colin. My driver side header gasket decided it doesn't want to seal up anymore. That or the manifold warped a little bit, as there is no gasket from the factory. This thing sounds terrible right now. Probably going to be a project for this weekend. Till then, I'm on my street bike since I hate the noise that exhaust leak makes

Did some painting last weekend, blacked out wheels and back bumper!

New headlights I'm hoping to get my birthday to finally make that mess look great again. And tomorrow I scored a deal for a chrome XLT bumper with the black trim and fog light cut outs, for $50 in what appears to be mint condition

Picked up the new bumper today! It's not perfect, but from 2 feet away you can't tell. Plus for the price, I can't complain. I even listed up the old bumper for sale, if I do this right, I'll sell the old bumper for the price I bought the new one for and come out totally ever. Excuse the not so great picture, I'm sure more will follow.

The guy I bought the bumper from also threw in some chrome headlight bezels, so I just need a chrome grille now and I'll have my full chrome front end :D

I have a few extra grilles kicking around if you need one.

I'd love one. I just feel like shipping is going to be more expensive to get it from you to me, than it would be to buy a new one for $45

Figured I'd throw an update in here since it's been a couple months. So far I have done absolutely nothing new to my truck aside from wash and wax it once  All my free money has been going to buy myself a new sport bike :D

Now I just need to wait on the current street bike to get sold, and I'll be ready to dive back into the truck. I'm hoping christmas brings the 6pc front light set for me. And I'm finally going to get up off my ass and go get the parts I need from the junkyard. Next round of fixing **** is going to be all the upper steering parts. I need a steering box (will buy new), power steering pump (it's only been whining for like 18 months...) and a new steering column.

Well, maybe on the column. The bearings in mine are going out, and if I find a junkyard column with good bearings, it's a quick, easy swap. I just want the truck to feel good in my hands again
