I'd rather not actually, for schedule reasons. It's easier to just do everything at the same time for me. But, if we don't have much more interest I think the future might be up in the air anyway for either series. Think I've come to face the fact that we started great with Season 1 and the attendance has steadily dropped since then. I've tried my best to get our name out there to help with participation numbers, but it's not really working.

Thinking about changing to a "16 sign-ups only" method depending on how things shape up.

You know ill be there! 👍 Just have to get other people involved more.

Slight rule change for this series, the mandatory pit stop has been dropped as the races are shorter than the FMSC. Should produce much closer races as pit stops tend to spread everyone out.

I think this might help drum up more interest. With the "qualify to get in" method I think a lot of people just presume they won't be fast enough so they don't even bother. I'm guilty of that with Mule's Lotus series, I was all pumped to participate until I saw the cream of the crop start showing up. At that point I figured I'd never qualify for a race and even if I did I'd just spend my time at the back getting in people's way. Hard to be pumped about that, so I withdrew before I even ran a practice session.

With the "16 sign-ups only" method people know if they sign up they'll get to race and they'll be willing to put some time and effort towards it. It's difficult to motivate yourself to practice and tune all week knowing there's a good chance you won't even be able to participate in the race.

Just my two cents.

The reason I went with a multi qualifying format was so that we could bring in as many drivers as possible, to get the closest racing as possible. If we limit it to 16 people, I fear that we'll only get a handful of top notch drivers and the rest of the field will be back-markers.

I don't know, maybe we'll just leave it that way. I guess people in your situation might look at it your way, but it never hurts to try at least once. But that's why we made the HD Challenge Series so that drivers who need more experience can get some time in before jumping up to FMSC.

If the HD Challenge Series is supposed to be for drivers who need more experience then you'll have to accept other-than-top-notch drivers, aka back-markers. It's been my experience that some of the most fun battles are in the middle of the pack, but I'm one that's in it more for the battle than the victory. That's just my opinion though and I know others feel differently. If this is intended to be a series for only top-notch drivers then the multi qualifying format would be the best way to achieve that, I just think it would also limit the number of possible participants.

The one nice thing about having back-markers is that if you spin and lose ground you'll still have drivers to race with in the back!

I know that.

We've got plenty signed up right now to start the season off well, I'm just worried about how many will stick around to finish the season. Guess we'll have to wait and find out.

Whats going to be a average time around Grand Valley reverse, I want to make sure Im close to being on pace, I will work hard and practice but if Im going to be in the way Ill look for a the camping truck series lol. Will there be some practice lounges on weekdays?
Im online now if any one wants to practice at Grand Valley, PSN GTP_mike46an2

I know some guys in this series were running low 2:20's in a practice we had last week. 2:20 to 2:24's.

Oh, ok. I was under the impression that there wasn't a lot of interest. I'm not sure what to do about retaining drivers through the whole season. I notice the attendance in the Capp Cup races dropped off at the end of the season too, but at week 3 and 4 we were at 15 and 16 drivers per night! Not sure what happened. We had 12 show up for the first race of the new season but over half of them were new.

I think the main issue is that it's summer time. People are spending more time outdoors (as I would if I had a car...) so the attendance isn't that great. I had actually planned on starting FMSC season 3 in the winter some time and taking a long break, which we still might do depending on pre-season race attendance.

I think you're right. Somebody mentioned that to me the other day, made me feel like I should be spending more time outdoors. Lol

Offline. I would love to try online but last night when you signed on you signed right off lol. Do you let people know there is a online room open or something ?

We'll have practice rooms the closer we get to the season starting. And your lap times will be slower online, just so you know.

The game physics are different online. Less traction = slower laps. You might lose a second or two.

Best thing to do when you need to test a car for online use, is to test in your lounge.

ummm any reason why that is. I only did one online race and I did feel like I had zero grip. I need to stop being cheap and go back to iracing

Can't tell you why exactly, it's just the way it is. Like I said, if you need to test for an online racing series when there are no practice rooms open, just use your lounge.

I don't think anybody really knows for sure but this thread will give you some info: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=212171&highlight=Offline+physics

And like Turbo said, be sure to go to the track options, set the grip to "real" and turn on the fuel/tire wear so you know you're practicing in the same environment as the race. 👍

I"m 2 seconds faster offline, I've noticed in my lounge the miles don't add up, which makes it harder to break in a new engine.
