I've agreed to maintain a leaderboard and develop the results sheets. So I'll use this area for the board and will send the links for the sheets to RACECAR.

If you would like, all of the racers can PM me their round one information (Forward original sent message if you still have it) and I will get the series to date results posted here. 👍

Thanks to RACECAR for doing his part on this.

Arcade Mode > Single Race > World Circuits > Mid-Field Speedway 80's

My game doesn't have that track :indiff:
I'll have to wait for Friday to run this since midterms this week, but I'll definitely get a try in.

The penalties(which were quite questionable the way they were implemented) has been scrapped so no.

If there's anything I can do to make this series better, please don't hesitate to ask your question or a suggestion by posting here, through PM , or even contact me on AIM or MSN(whichever service you use). I'll respond the best way I can.

Interesting. I think the only horsepower mod on the cup cars is a Mazdaspeed cold air intake so a little more power over the stock form would be nice.

A nip-pick I know but that's the only thing I would improve on for now. Everything else is golden

If you still want to put up your race 1 replay here, by all means do that, since the original thread is closed.
I'd love to see it, I've watched all the others that were posted, it's fun to see where & how people passed the AI, and what cars you were racing! So far I think virtually everyone's replay included 2 or 3 Honda S2000s in the AI lineup although we've all had different "filler" cars.

I was waiting to see if we'd be starting with the HP penalties from race 1 in place for this, but as they're not happening I can get started.
I did think they were a good idea though, as it'd mean the races would be self-levelling throughout the series and give slower racers the opportunity to win an individual event overall because they'd be racing with a 5% HP advantage for that race, but means they'd be set back to 0% if they got the win, and give someone else the edge for the next race.
I'm all for handicapping & different winners, ask anyone whose been to an SFGTP event, I don't think anyone has left without winning at least 1 race! :D

I'm happy to race under the new stewards' rules regardless.
It's racing. It's Miata/MX-5s. It's GT4. ----> Smallhorses is happy! :D

For those who want to enter, Please post you entries here so that they will be added to the entry list in this thread.

I've PM'd in my stuff but I'll post it here too for clarity:

Driver: homeforsummer
Sponsor: Mazda UK
Number: #11

I've also PM'd EDK my race results from the first round as these were lost when the original thread's content was deleted 👍

The rules this time are much clearer too, nice job.

Incase didn't put me in registered racers list yet check this

One question popped in mind while chasing the Honda S2000 there.
Are you supposed to win the event inorder to submit the results?

No you do not have to win.
the +7 is so you do not feel like you are racing by yourself.
In the warm up race @ Trial Mountain everyone passed the AI by turn 1 or 2, it was decided that you up the AI to give you more of a competitive feel.

Sounds good, I'll post tomorrow :D
I did not get any S2000 as I opted to go with a +8 for my race. I had a Lotus HC '87 in the line up.

I gave Race #2 a try last night and had 2 Clio Sport V6's and a HCD6 Concept ('01) could not catch up and I was racing all alone in the middle of the line up :yuck:

Hey guys, here's the points system. I found the way the points were distributed to be just strange so I revamped it. Here's the way it works now:

Code:
Points
1st - 30
2nd - 28
3rd - 26
4th - 24
5th - 22
6th - 20
7th - 18
8th - 16
9th - 14
10th - 12
[Color=Blue]Fastest Lap - 1 Point[/Color]

As a result, Here's the current standings using the revamped points system:

1. jmgyro - 30
2. Jump_Ace - 28
3. Smallhorses - 27
4. Green_Flag - 24
5. raz_10 - 22
6. EDK - 20
7. homeforsummer - 18
8. CyborgGT - 16
9. Marooned - 14
10. RACECAR - 12

Smallhorses - 1'52.315

This leaves enough room for everyone to collect points, including later participants.

And it seems like the Horsepower adjustment seesm to be a growing topic

I thought since it was a a spec series, it would be more up to the driver but I'll see what I can do

I don't get it.

For Race 1, Jump_Ace's final time was 3/10ths faster than mine, so he should be in 2nd place behind jmgyro (there's no "i" in his name! ;)) and as far as I know, I took fastest lap with a 1'52.315, marginally quicker than jmgyro's 1'52.362 so I should pickup the extra point.

As far as this weeks event goes, I think well find that with the looooong straight and fast turns on Fuji, it's not going to be quite so easy to win the race against the AI field! :scared:

I didn't see his race time so I went by the order I saw from Round 1 unfortunately. I'll fix it now.

Did you guys get my times from Green_Flag?
Wonders about those 22 points awarded? :dunce:

Hi - I'll be posting official results in the 3rd post of this thread. And I'll send PM's tonight requesting all racers to re-submit their times to me. I've received some, but not all.

Ah had a 1'52.080 in my previous run of 15'10.1, but thought that I might of been behind at that point. Didn't think fastest lap would be anything more than an interesting stat. That's fine now I suppose.

I have a question. Since it is generally accepted to allow running of tires that are worse than the posted tires for the backs. ie S1 for back and S2 for front if it happens that your back tires are burning out before the end of the race and you do not want to pit. I haven't tested this race at all and it may not be a factor here, but for a longer race with say S3's then it might become more of an issue if your tires are near red by the end of the race. Is this acceptable or are we required to run S2 front and back?

I'm not sure that tire will become an issue with this car, as long as we stay with the S2 tires and the shorter races.

One issue was the fact that AI tires were not previously defined. But they are defined now, and you cannot set AI to have separate compounds on front vs. rear.

My thought would be anything that provides a clear advantage against the AI (i.e. they have to pit and you do not) should not be allowed.

But let's hear what RACECAR and any of the participants have to say.

I think the main thing is that we should have clear and uniform rules here, avoid having a lot of areas that are gray or open to interpretation.

I'd say we stick to what is posted, i.e. S2 tyres all round, but of course the final decision goes to our esteemed stewards, EDK & RACECAR. 👍

If tyre wear starts to become a factor, it provides an extra challenge as far as whether you can be fast enough (but heavy on the tyres because of that) to account for a pitstop, or be a little more cautious and make the tyres last. It affects different drivers in different ways, and it makes a big difference in longer races. e.g. the Clio endurance races we've run at UKGTP & SFGTP events, where smooth drivers like daan & myself, while not as quick as, say VEXD or Jump_Ace were able to get 1 or 2 more laps from a set of tyres which meant less pitstops. :sly:

I'm up for anything that levels the playing field on a race-by-race basis in terms of results, such as tyrewear and HP handicapping as it makes it possible for anyone to win a race, which adds to the excitement, otherwise we end up with the same 1 or 2 people winning every event and the same people at the back of the field feeling a little demoralised.
(It does open up the possibility of "sandbagging" one race to get an advantage in the next, but I'd hope we're all here more for the fun and excitement of racing than to worry too much about where you'll end up in the final standings!
Half of the reason we're here in this new environment is because myself and EDK actually stood up for having Jump_Ace included in the week 1 results, even though we were both aware that it actually cost us points that it'll be difficult for us to make up on Jump_Ace, but he'd probably have no problem overcoming with respect to us!)

After much thinking, I've decided to leave the S2s all way around since these have been the only tires tested on. Also, there appears to be some interest in actually having the HP Adjustments included. If everyone would like to see it included, then I'll make sure to include those for the next round. I didn't have them for this round as I tryed to get the series in a reasonable direction, but I'll try to work out a more efficient and balanced way to implement them. Also, I may not be able to respond as much as would like to today so if you got a question, there'll most likely be a delayed answered from me, but I'll respond as soon as I can.

I have some ideas:

1st
The Fastest Lap bonus should be set to give atleast as mutch points
as the gap between 2st and 3nd place (what ever the point system is).

2nd
I vote for the hp boost "penalty" thought the boost should
be limited to 1-3% so that podiums places get no "penalty"
4th to 7th get 1%
8th to 12 get 2%
and from 13th to (endless) 3%

These are just my suggestions which may be taken in use if seen usefull.

I'll discuss both of these with RACECAR. We'll come to a decision and let everyone know what we are going to do. Should be able to work that out in the next day or so. 👍

Sorry for the DP, but I wanted to be sure everyone realized there is new information here. On the Handicap, we would consider a handicap, provided a majority of the racers support it. Here's how it would work -

1. Since many racers are already running this week and we were not clear on the implementation of a handicap, it would be implemented after the posting of the Fuji event results, for the next race.

2. A true handicap system would be implemented, based on each racer's gap from the average finish time each week.

3. This would be based on the rolled up results of the series to date. In other words, total times for each racer would be added based on results from the Infineon and Fuji Events. Each racer would have a power change %, based on their gap to the actual average finish time of all racers. This is rounded to the nearest whole %, since the game does not have fractions of %.

Based on results from week 1, the handicap would look like this -

jmgyro ---------- (-2%)
Jump_Ace ------- (-1%)
Smallhorses ----- (-1%)
Green_Flag ------ (-1%)
raz_10 ---------- (-1%)
EDK -------------- 0%
homeforsummer --- 0%
CyborgGT -------- +1%
Marooned -------- +2%
RACECAR --------- +2%

Again, we are not planning to implement for this week's event. And implementation is not set in stone. We would only like the feedback of the series participants. If a majority of the racers do not respond in support by the time the next race is posted, we will not implement it for the series.

I'll have the first vote, I'm in support of the Handicap system, as outlined above. And no real surprise for me, I'm average. :dopey:
