Hmmmm. That's a tricky one.
It's easy for me to say "Yeah, go ahead and include him" but on the other hand, given an unusual performance this week
, I'm unlikely to be one of the drivers that suffers a points loss from the inclusion of
raz_10's times unless he's pulled something similar.
A certain amount of care is expected when contesting any race series on GT Planet, and having a good idea of when a race deadline is, is a critical part of taking part in a race. The WRS deadline has changed many times over the years and with the different stewards, as it's usually designed to be most practical for the person who is preparing the results, as it should be.
As far as I know there's never been an exception to a new deadline, as it's the racer's responsibility to know and respect the deadline.
I fell foul of it during the GT3 days and denied myself what would've been a WRS Div 1. 3rd place by failing to notice a deadline change. It's a mistake I've made once, and once only and I learned from it the first time!
(Sadly I only ever made it close to a 3rd place time once after that!)
The race deadline, has been clearly visible from the start of
RACECAR's thread, and
EDK did post a 2 hour time warning. It's understandable, of course, that not everyone is actually online all the time & missed that, but it does of course seem unfair to penalise those who observed the deadline too.
Now with
Serge D.'s missing of the deadline too, it would seem grossly unfair to give one driver the benefit of the doubt for posting his mistake before the PST deadline that
EDK normally runs, given that
raz_10 is in the same timezone, and yet penalise
Serge D. who is 9 hours ahead, and probably fast-asleep when the deadline passed and yet still posted at 4:34AM(!) his time having realised this! Either we have to give them both the benefit of the doubt, or neither.
It's a horrid call to make, and I have to leave it to the 2 Stewards to use their best judgement in this case.
If it's decided that it's more convenient to have the race deadline set according to what is convenient for
EDK as the chief results compiler, then you should reflect that in this weeks race thread.
