My car is understeering. What should i do?

It is the Viper concept. But actually about 80% of my cars understeer, so i would like to know if there is a "universal fix" Thank you.

Well... if you have already set ASM to zero, then try increasing the camber on the front wheels and maybe a -1(that's negative 1) on the rear tow angle. If you haven't set ASM to zero you should, it is the bigest cause of understeer since it will compensate if you cause the car to oversteer.

TRry looser springs in the front (lower) and stiffer in the rear (higher). Also, as previously mentioned,. even a -2 rear toe would work well 👍

For understeering FR cars:

Lighten up on the front brake balance about setting 6 and make rear brakes stronger setting 13

Take ASM down about 2 setting from where it is

Set the front downforce high and rear low(not too low)

Also note some cars have too much hp pushing it forward ie escudo, try dropping theese cars to a lower stage trubine kit or NA tune

You may wanna play around with settings until you find what you like.

Hey, so if your car was oversteering, you would do the opposite of what you just said right?

Did you know when you adjust your escudo settings to do the wheelie trick, and you adjust your gears a little so you don't do the wheelie until you reach a higher max speed, you can bust out some crazy Donuts ;) I've got this replay (Even though I don't have sharkport) of me doing donuts all the way down the straight-away in Seattle Circuit II. And I did some figure-8's and stuff too. It's pretty fun doing them and watching your own replays. I sugest trying it out when you've got some free time :)

^ ::I just remembered this when I read 'Escudo'::

The "universal" fix to your problem is to either raise the rear of the car or lower the front. You can separate the front ride height from the rear ride height by 25mm and have a diff of only 1 inch. I widen the distance between them for understeer, narrow the distance for oversteer.
Then decrease your spring rate if the car is too "bouncy" over the rumble strips. I also rarely set stabilizers higher than 5. Usually 4 is enough, (for me).
For an FF car try setting the front stabilizer one number higher than the rear. That will loosen up the rear of the car and decrease understeer.
Also with the Concept Viper, you might consider braking sooner. Use your brake markers. Start braking just over 100 meters from the turn and ease the car thru, getting back on the gas just past the apex of the turn. You can decrease the distance you start braking to the last possible point that you don't go plowing into the far wall. That will then be your braking point and you will begin turning faster, more consistent lap times.

Are we compensating for our own feelings of inadequacy?
The "Psychologists All Hours" website is a little further down the bandwidth.
If you haven't figured it out. GT Planet is dedicated to GTers HELPING each other. Please read the "Acceptable Use Policy". You wil find a link at the bottom of the page.
IF you have constructive input, by all means share it. Otherwise, go somewhere else and be mean to other people.

Insults, and excuses are like asses. Everybody has one. But nobody needs to see it or hear it.

I undertook the rather unpleasant task of reading your other posts before deciding to blast you a little.
You have a tendency to be either mean or condescending.

You MAY posses a bit of knowledge that is helpful to others out there on the Planet. Consider doing so next time you post. However, If you are so young/inexperiened that you find belittling others is better than helping them, you have issues...
Deal with them.

Here endeth the rant.

I too am having handling problems that were not there at the onset of the game. Now that I am 80% through it my cars will not turn going through corners at all, head straight for the wall.. PUSH... The F1 cars are the only ones I can barely keep on the track now.

I feel the same way.

Solution stop driving F1s.

At this stage of the game you are also driving cars that are much faster due to the amount of CR you have to spend, and the quality of what you're winning.
These cars will require everything I said in post #11 of this thread, and remember, BRAKE EARLIER. You will be suprised how much faster your times will be with earlier brake points.

Have you tried using different tires, I've moticed others regularly suggest the F1 tires, could explain why the Formula cars handle as well as they do. An yes I too find obnoxous peeps to be a bore
