My dad just informed me that he has ordered a black s2000 from the honda dealer. actually, they have a silver one there, but they wil trade it with another dealer that has a black one.

This is news for me because it is not like him at all. Ive told him for a couple years now that the s2000 is one of my dream cars. Right now he has a benz and drives it like a grandpa. I was telling him if he wanted a convertible he should look at different cars instead of the s2000. I told him the s2000 was rougher and racier than say a clk or sl. Also, he is a shallow person that doesnt want to drive around in a car with a honda label.

The lease is ending soon on his s500. he says he ordered the s2000 to replace it, and when the new BMW 5s come out this fall he will get one of those. The s2000 will go in storage and be a second fun car come spring.

I told him if he let me race the s2000 at the track i would consider selling my m3. It would provide near the same thrill without all of the maintenance. I really dont care what i drive around with on the street. i could save bucks by getting a used kia or something, haha.

I think it is good. Maybe the old man will let loose and drive the thng hard. midlife crisis style. I just hope he will allow me to put some good tires on advan RGs on there. And maybe race it sometimes. It would be cool, maybe i can buy the car in a few years. It will be the color s2000 I want with 4000 miles that has never gone over 5k rpm, haha.

Lol..Nice...Congrats to him and if you can get ahold of it congrats to you....Be sure to tell him not to go crazy with it with 0 miles..Or you'll be lacking in the race catagory come the time...Anyway..what year is it? Brand new?...Black...kikk azzz..And Convertable or hard top? I couldn't tell from what you wrote about it.

I'm telling you! These are the people who buy S2000's! It's not 20-year-olds, it's older men who want to have fun with an expensive, quick sports car!

s2000's are crap

if he wnats a fast convertible, tell him to get a WS6 6 speed vert.

that would own that crappy little import, and he wont have to wind up to 9200 rpm's to make any power out of it.

either a WS6, or a nice spyder 3000GT twin turbo. the spyder could be had for maybe 28 grand for a 98, in PERFECT condition.

Hey nice man. But you dad's stepping down for mercades to a little honda. Thats a shocker. But still ya never know waht might happen. maybe when he gets rid of s2000 ypu could always buy it off him.

Oh my god...He probably wants a NICE looking car..That's why he didn't get the WS6...Because a WS6 looks like crap..I don't care if it can do 13's..Whoopie..it's ugly, and people shouldn't be spending 20 thousand dollars on an ugly car....And as for the 3000GT Vr-4 Spyder....28 grand is alot for a VR-4 man...Even a convertable..Considering they weight 100lbs over the 2 ton mark and have some of the crappiest turbo's ever installed on a high performance car..And they make what 320HP through an AWD system on a 2 ton car...Oh yeah, it SCREAMS power stock......
And he says crappy little import...yet he sudgests one...ooook

and how can the S2000 be a crappy car?..think about it 240HP out of a 2.0 Liter..You say you have to rev to 9200 to make power...When the HP's peak is at 8300, and the redline is at 9500...The S2000 is a track car..it's meant to be high revving...Unless you didn't realize that high revving cars usually excell on the track...Not only that it has a perfect 50/50 weight distribution....The WS6 has 56/44.....

I agree with you 68. A WS6 Convertable is one of my dream cars. There so freakin sweet. Damn there fast too.

Thats the one thing I hate about the S2K is the torque and power curve is rediculouis.

glad i didnt have to say it. sheesh

my father probably bought it because I was telling him for so long i would love one. recently when he was actually considering purchasing a convertible i suggested boxster, benz, all that ****. he would never buy an american car though, i can tell you that. BTW, i suggested a z06 vette convertible to him.

as for why i would rather have a s2000 than a ws6 or whatever else, is becuase, exactly as shinez said, the s2000 is a track car. The cars you mentioned are fast in a straight line, great, i dont care about that. On a track a highrevving car rules. I can only imagine how fun the s2k would be to drive at the track. My m3 is already insane, shifting at 7500, revlimit at 8k. Another 40hp and 1k rpm would be sweet.

why are they rediculious? a little better lowend would be great, but at the track it doesnt even matter, you are always in the powerband. what do you expect from a 2 liter NA engine?

Advan...Don't bother....Alot of people look at a car soley for it's 1/4 ability...They forget that the 1/4 mile is mainly based in the US, which is the reason why US cars accel in that catagory....You read magazines from other countries...And they rarely include 1/4 times...They include 0-60 lateral G's braking distance and what not

my only real concern is fun factor. but when you get into it, high revving, lightweight, RWD, and all that shat comes into play.

advanR,

Sweet man! How lucky is that...? I can probably bet that I will NEVER have a car of that calibur in my garage. :)

, and be safe with pop's new car. ;)

If you plan to track the car, make sure you put in a stronger clutch, the stock one on S2ks is terrible. ;) Guy at my high school found that out dragging against my friend's eclipse gs-t... after two or three hard launches, his clutch was gone. :(

But otherwise it should be a sweet ride! :D

I'm just saying I hate listening to a engine whine at high rpms. Why wouldn't Honda just put a bigger motor in the car. At least a I-6. Then it would be good.

Cerbera...That was the older model S2000 clutches..They had a widespread problem with that..As of 03 they've been fixed

Lol.... Blazing..8000rpm's sounds just like 8000rpm's...If honda put a Inline 6 into a S2000 it would be doing a nose stand..And would have the weight distribution of a Ws6..Which is crappy....also a n/a i6 requires quite a bit of tuning or expensive parts to maintain 6-9000rpm rev's consistantly...Remember on a track Torque isn't import.....Staying in the powerband is important..So if you got a car that's all torque but only has 6000rpm range..You have alot greater of a chance to fall out of the power band..less room for error..second...Last time I heard V8 with dual exhaust it sounded worse than an S2000 i've ever heard...And you're telling me you hate the GT-R's engine..You're telling me you hate E46 M3's Engine?

Glad to hear that. That guy was so pissed off when he couldn't launch his car anymore...

Lol...Well a Dual exhaust V8 is nothing but 2 4 bangers is it not?....if you say 4 cyl's sound bad...then 2 must sound worse...Right?...Right.

What kind of a person would say that. They seruisly must be a stupid dumb***. V8 Muscle Is Music to the ears.

The person is probably one of those Rice Lovers. Stick his head in a Rice Exhaust Pipe and lets see how much fun he has.:mischievous:

Do I get my point straight.

Hell even in the Blazer with stock exhaust. I'll roll the windows down and hit it. Sounds so nice.

Even V8 in the most unexpected forms sounds awesome.

My friend's brother has a silver Durango, and he revved it one time for me. Those things come stock with a V-8. It sounded awesome.

Oh my god you're an idiot....I'm probably one of those rice lovers?...And what is the deffinition of a Rice lover? Someone who thinks American V8's arn't "god"? That's a retarded deffinition. You're from Canada, I can already tell you're slow. But that statement just proved every stereotype about canadians true.

Lol, real mature there buddy...Super..Did I say every V8 sounded bad, ey?..No..I said Dual EXHAUST....Not all v8's are Dual exhaust are they, ey? Nope..And I don't mean the LS1 dual crap..I mean TRUE Dual exhaust...Maybe if you'd read into what I said you'd realize that, but I shouldn't expect that from you, ey?...
