So I got home tonight (-3 GMT) and did my first endurance race since GT2 3-4 years ago. The track I choose was the one I like most up until now (26%), El Capitan. 💡
Reading Famine's and smallhorses reports on their enduros, they used a Opera performance S2000 with 270BHP and a Supra RZ with 325BHP. Both got 200 A-Spec. So I've decided to try something not too far from that and used the car I like most (handling), an Honda NSX-R Concept '01, with full tranny(final gear 8) and weight reduction 1 and a racing chip, running on S2 and no aids. It had 300BHP and I got 200 A-Spec as well.💡
On the very first lap someone hit me and I spun. But after 1 lap I was chasing the first guy already, a Lotus Motorsport Elise '99, the only quick opponent I faced. I wasn't able to put much distance between us before the first pit-stop as I was getting used to the car+track combo.
On laps 10-12 he run amazingly and pitted at the end of lap 12. My tires were getting orange in the back so I pitted on 13th lap. (then 11 pattern the rest of the race, making sure the Elise pitted first)
Always after the pit-stop, the Elise would lose 4-6 second per lap during 2 laps even with my cold tires
Nothing else happened after that but another spin on lap 23 (cold tires).
Finished 1st with 2'09'08.816 total time and 1'51.826 best lap. I didn't tried to be very very fast as I concentrated in racing error-free the whole time (non stop). I don't know if that's fast or not :dunce: . The Elise finished 1'41s after me (T3 on last lap).

I shouldn't upgraded chip and WR1, itwould be a closer race. After all, I didn't think it was THAT tiresome the race, but I surely couldn't do it again at least for a few days. 4 hour enduros should be tough already... what to say 24h  .
This weekend I might try one of the other short enduros. I liked it 💡 !!

could someone make comments about the race or give me tips for my next enduro and report?? I forgot to note the laps the "enemies" were pitting, sorry :ouch: .

thanks to everyone who read this... c'ya

Sounds like a great race.:) Let us know if you do get round to completing it again in the car without the modifications, come and see us at Club 200. Link is in my signature, (2nd line) for posting of stock races. There's about 10 entries for 200pt races in stock cars at El Capitan already, and more are welcome!👍

You guys are running Stock endurance??? Have you lost your minds? What are A spec points good for anyway? Hmmm... might be fun though. I've just figured Aspec points were just a way of calculating odds... 5 - 10 points, should be an easy win, 50 - 80 points, better know your racing lines, 150 - 200 points, come back with a different car.

I may try one of the 2 hour runs stock, but no way am I attemting it on a 24 hour any time soon!

But kudos to all of you who have managed to pull it off (whether it be a 2 or 24 hour run), as that had to be some serious white knuckle (or thumb rather?) driving. I'd like to have some R1 or R2 tires at least if nothing else.

But hey, if you folks can do it, I can... um... think about it :D

It'd be NICE if A-Spec points worked like that, but they don't. They attempt to, but miss the mark a little. I think I've got 2 of the 24 Hour races 200 pointed.

Nice to see more converts though... :D

It's more than worth searching out a car that will net 200 points for the Endurance events or ensure a close race as I find it a great way to keep yourself interested thoughout the race when doing them in A-spec.

I've had some close endurance races for 200 points and it's so much more satisfying knowing you've been pushed by the other cars for the entire race knowing there's a good chance of losing if you screw up. It makes crossing the line in 1st place when the 2nd placed car is within close distance feel so much more rewarding :)

I really thought about doing that Endurance again, in stock. But with the NSX, when I just change to 6th gear is already at the end of the long straight. It doesn't stand a chance against the competition! It's impossible...
But as I really like the track, I might do it with another car (looking forward to do in stock).

If you don't always accept the first AI lineup, but exit before starting the race and re-enter, you can come across lineups without the obvious fast cars. For El Capitan, after a console reset I think somewhere between the 6th and 8th lineup you find has neither the Motorsport Elise nor the Shelby Series 1 in it, but will still give 200points. That's what I raced against in my Toyota Supra RZ '97, since it couldn't keep up with those 2 cars in stock form. Hope that helps, I'm sure the superior handling and tyre wear of the NSX should make it easier than for the Toyota.
