A friend of mine, took this shot while on a recent trip to Melbourne. Being aware of my growing interest in Photoshop, he let me edit it as I saw fit. This is the original image:

And this what I turned it into:

Just hoping for some feedback so I know where I stand. Thanks :)

I'd say a graduated filter and some exposures changed would be better. Any chance to get the RAW file? Just so that everyone else can show what they deem to be fit. :)

It's not natural-looking, and it's not surreal enough to be surreal. The water droplets are useless, as is the lens flare. The reflections are nicely done, but the surface doesn't look wet enough to have them. The crop at the top and left is good, getting rid of the post.

I agree with this, but you could select a leaf and copy/paste, fill the photo a bit. If you want drama you could try to make some rain, copy and paste the bird, flip it and scale it, then you have reflection of the bird from the rain. Or, I don't know, you could do anything with the bird. The way it's looking back makes it excellent for a funny. It's a shame I'm not at my pc now :(

Maybe you can get some inspiration HERE.

Fuu yuu dolphin!!!!!

I don't think it's so much that you did a rubbish job.. technically it seems alright to me.. but I think you just needed to take it in a different direction..

Yep, that's all there is. Like I said: hand us the RAW file and we'll give it a shot. Well, I'd do at least. :)

This is the best serious attempt I can come up with, difficult to edit all that using a JPEG. :D
