A village...
I have been racing on GT6 without updating for a while (I was on 1.00) but now, fully updated and ready to go, I have decided to wipe the slate clean, and start it all again. This thread will be like a diary, documenting the various events in my Gran Turismo campaign.

I do not class myself to be brilliant at GT6, but I will try to complete it at the best of my ability. I use a controller and, therefore, wont be as good as a person with a wheel. This thread will hopefully show me how fast I really am in comparison to others. So, lets begin.

The Power Lap Board
Here I will post times of every car I own in GT6, excluding Karts. The Laptimes are done on the Grand Valley Speedway, one of my personal favourites. I give myself one attempt to get the time, only restarting if I get an Invalid Lap. The laptimes are done in Manual, with all aids off except ABS, which is on 1. The cars are completely stock, and I use the stock tyres that come with the car.

Here are the times:

(SH/SH) 2:04.796 - Mercedes-Benz AMG VGT '13
(CS/CS) 2:23.815 - Renault Clio R.S. '11
(CS/CS) 2:31.711 - Alfa Romeo MiTo '09
(CS/CS) 2:37.399 - Honda Fit RS '10

The Diary
So. lets begin with the diary. I will post a new log whenever I have been on GT6. The size of the logs can and will vary, depending on how much I have done on that day. links to each log are here:

Log 1 - 2/2/14 - Novice
I started the day as everyone does, driving the Clio around Brands Hatch. I got this over and done with as quickly as possible. After that I bought the Honda Fit in Blue. It looked quite nice, but I knew this would be a car that would not be touched after I had done the starting events.

Next, I decided to look at the VGT garage. I came across the Merc. I looked at it. I read 'Gift to me'. What? I clicked the button and, I have a VGT. Okay then... I was not expecting that. I then entered the Sunday Cup and golded it with ease.

Quickly, though, I was seeing that this game was going to become too easy, too quickly. I decided to switch from an Auto gearbox, something I have used since GT4, to a Manual, something I have rarely used ever. I started the Amateur Cup and, very quickly, saw that it was harder. I had to keep an eye on the revs all the time and, although I did win the Cup, I had three close races. Especially on Willow Springs, I won there by less than a tenth of a second!

Bleep. Coffee Break unlocked. Oh god... Went into the Cone Challenge and bronzed it (just off of a silver) and left it at that. Now it was time to enter the Novice Championship. The races were still close, but I was getting better with the manual gearbox. The average gap was now about 0.4 seconds. And I now have a Clio. Good.

Next up, Licences. Errm... lets just say I golded all of them in one try (except the braking one, broke too early:ouch:) I now unlocked a go-kart, and a Alfa MiTo. And I have unlocked the National B events. Unlocks 'o' plenty. To finish off the day I Golded the Freshman Cup in my shiny new Clio. The gaps were now up to 3 or 4 seconds a race. Yay, I have regained my form. If it ever existed anyway.

Now I have the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and Photo Travel. And a substantial amount of money. Life at the moment is good.

So, do you like it? Should I do things differently? Can you help in anything? I would appreciate Feedback on anything to do with this. Be as blunt as you like, I dont mind. Thanks for Reading.

I always enjoy reading how people advance through GT6 to compare differences to my own. Will watch, and it looks good so far!
