@Clark , ... thanx, mate

I agree, I love that Audi S1 just for cruising

Never drove the S1 @Nords, yeah yeah I should be ashamed :embarrassed:.
Very much fun and pretty 'easy' to drive around. Now find out the limits before hitting anything.
Easy cruising 8:37 but way separated from the 8:24's. Where to find 13 seconds?!

S1 is a great car for practising with H shifter and clutch... its very forgiving. The new tire model has changed it a bit, not better or worse, just different :D

The biggest problem for me is memorizing the track and its all details, bumps, braking points, racing line etc... and all the stuff I need to be vigilant about!
I think I just need to drive it more and more!
I don't think I've completed more than 5 laps on this track! Driven the 1st sector though lots of times

Have more Nordschleife videos for RaceRoom.

But here is one for AC.

Anyone watched the 24 hrs race last weekend? At least some of it?

I recorded one lap in cockpit view. Just enjoy or if you want you can learn from it, like I did from others
Know where to brake, where to accelerate in what gear etc. Remember I'm just a mediocre AC racer and definitely not an alien (yet :nervous:).

8:08:607 that's 8 seconds slower then the top racers (according to RSR)

EDIT: I just noticed that the graph bar throttle/brake are missing . Will make another vid later today/tomorrow

No bro no please don't bother! Thanks a lot for your efforts!
Similar videos are all over YouTube but i just can't learn bcz it's not just a simple track like all others; it's just too damn long to memorise that perfect love or those braking points! But i think i should stop nagging about it; i feel so stupid for doing so!
I'll try to drive it more to get better!
Thx again mate!

You just have to put the laps and you will start remembering. You say you've only done 5 laps, that means you've done each corner only 5 times and it takes 7+ plus to get to do each corner again. Take every car in AC on the ring for at least one map and you'll remember it way before you even get through half of them.

It's not a hard track to learn. As @lancia delta hf said...You just have to put in the laps. A LOT of 'em. I can easily close my eyes and drive the Nordschleife again and again. Unfortunately, that doesn't automatically translate in driving it well at all. I know what corner is coming up and I know exactly what corner is next, so I know where I'd like to take corner A in order to be setup perfectly for corner B, etc..trying to execute that at speed is the hard part. :D

For an added punch in the face of realism, drop the temperature and lower the surface condition a decent amount. All of a sudden, it's almost a completely different track. That's a bit of an exaggeration, I know...but you will have to make plenty of adjustments if you want to exit corners with maximum momentum.

Nice combos include:

F40 or Yellowbird / 10C or 50F temperature / 90s Street Tires / Green or lower / Whatever time you'd prefer -- Just don't forget to be wearing one of these:

I'm sure a lot of of you have seen the movie Rush, about the Lauda/Hunt rivalry. There's a scene where Hunt is on the floor holding up a steering wheel and his eyes are closed while he goes through a lap of Monaco in his mind.

I do this in my mind (without moving) to help me go to sleep. It's something to keep my mind on so it doesn't wander. Try doing that with Nordshleife and you'll be asleep before the end of a lap.

haha I thought I was the only one doing that in stead of counting sheep. And it works well.

Hahaha nice underwear @ALB123 ! I should get myself one!
As for sleeping tips, thank goodness I fall asleep very fast! I'll probably fall asleep even before the lights go off!

BMW M4 with front 295/rear 275 street tires(stock tires are front 255/rear 275)and still understeer if you brake too late in Schwedenkreuz and Fuchsröhre also when stopping in a straight line locks the front wheels first.
Here's the proof that the car must oversteer:

Here's the proof that the car must oversteer:

i had a go with this car, competely stock setup and tire psi. i used the street tires and this was my first attempt.

you can certainly see that i experience understeer when i break too late into some corners, but at the same time throttle modulation is always required to controll the oversteer.

I'm not sure if the driver in the video is using a stock setup and street tires, because the car seems a lot more planted irl. i was sliding quite a bit more. Not sure if our times were similar or not...

bottom line is, its one of the better street cars in ac, and puts a smile on my face when i drive it.

And you won't believe I had to do about 10 (!!) restarts before I completed one lap without errors.
 Oh man...I am so glad I'm not the only one this happens to. I can't even tell you how many times I've wanted to test something that should be very easy...especially the times where I'm intentionally not trying to drive all that fast - the next thing I know my car is into the armco and I break my friggin' control arm and need to reset. :banghead:

I can see why, i tried that combo yesterday and it is pretty tricky the first time in the first section.
I underestimated this slow car. Some corners you need to have the right balance between braking and throttle if you want to keep up speed. Corner exiting is crucial (duh....that goes for every car/track combo). It takes ages to gain some speed with this 595SS. See my vid where my ghost car is in front of me. That's because in one corner I touched - not even pushed - the brake just a very small step tighter then the previous lap.

12:27 best time on RSR....Sector one 4:05 is almost on par but in sector two and three I have to find 10 seconds per sector :dunce:. Will also play around with the setup

 You've gotta be kidding me. I just gave it 5 runs... All 5 crashed with the furthest making it to Aremberg before my driver died in a fiery wreck. :banghead: Ugh. I'm going to go have breakfast at the country club and when I get back home I'm going to finish a lap in that death box or it'll be the death of me!

Same, I thought I'd jump in the car and just go around in a boring slow lap, first corner and I'm like woah am I man enough for this car. A full grid multiplayer race will be interesting.

I also found five extra seconds but still far away from your insane 12:33.
A screenshot pops up in your 595SS challenge topic soon

Also did multiple unfinished laps with the Yellowbird. Finally I managed to set just one reasonable 7:50 lap. Somewhere between 7:40 - 7:50 is doable without too many "stress". 7:30 is also not normali ;)

I have done a few laps in the 595.....keeping up momentum is the hard part....... and don't trust this car :D
Yeah...if you go to the brakes when you really didn't need to...even for just a small tap of the pedal, you're screwed. It's pretty amazing how agile the car is...until it isn't anymore and then it snaps you into a guardrail at unforgiving sped.

Saw this great video editing on the official AC forum. With the permission of Alexander it is nice to share within this Nordschleife community
kudos for Alexander Novikov!!

And I took the beast of a 787B on an early Sunday morning through the German forest.
What a pleasure!!!
