The main problem with standing starts, as I have found in my testing for LC's thread, is that on TGTT it is almost impossible to line it up right on the line. I almost always end up starting (Standing-start style) about a foot behind the line.

And by the way, LC's thread, in which I am a licensed and approved tester, uses rev-less standing starts, so your times will always be faster.
And I don't think your thread would test a 2CV like ours did...!

Yeah, it's hard to start on the line because the real line is not lined up to GT's start. And also, I'll be testing all cars, but not the 2CV any time soon because I got it a long time ago :P

Yeah I start rev-less,as the real top gear does. No offense. Not trying ti bring you down :)

Well, out thread has a 2CV test, as well as a Fiat 500.

Fiat 500's coming up soon :P

EDIT:

Yeah, I know you're not trying to bring me down :). I am trying to replicate Top Gear in a way though, but it would be too time consuming for me to do standing starts (with the lining up, accidentally going over and stuff like that).

Yeah that's why I park a safe distance away. Btw I like your avatar picture.

Although that makes our thread a bit more realistic...
All in good spirit.
Yeah, I was actually thinking of lining up but I didn't think it'd work out.

But if you park a certain distance away the cars won't be equal! I know, I like things perfect :dunce:
And thanks, I thought it was a good idea because I myself like it :P

Ha! Yeah.. but hey,its a game right?

Just wondering GT9, do you use any aides other than ABS for your tests?

Here's my list:
Trans: M/T
Driving Line, TCS, SRF, Active Steering, ASM : Off
ABS: 1
Controller Steering Sensetivity: 0

EDIT: and Grip Lost on track edge is Real

EDIT #2: I also have a question. Why does the lap turn red if you go a bit far off on the Follow-Through?

I was aiming to test everything that I come across that are 000 or new...
I will stop when I have all the cars.

Cool, because I'm trying to do all of them or as many as I can too. :D It won't be finshed any time soon unless I do it all day (because I have like 9-12h). And still, even if I do that, I'll still have a lot to go. About to test an Esprit.

Yup. Whenever I am bored I do it,as to reduce wasted time.

I am currently testing our threads first race car, so this will be interesting. Anyway, enough with this off-topicness, I have driving to do.
