Cool vid Manuel, look like a lot of fun even in a starlet :D

Back from the ring. Only managed to do 7 laps in 2 days. Lots of rain on Saturday and a lot of closures on Sunday due to acidents and oil spilling on the track :grumpy: Oh well, better luck next year.

Since I'm from Germany I have been driving there aswell, it's not too far away from where I live. And it's really an intensive ride! Not really comparable to a game. Surely GT5 did a nice job recreating the Ring. But trust me, it's a whole other experience doing it by yourself. The fear of crashing your car, the G-Forces working on your body, and the sense of speed is incredable way faster. When you go faster in GT5 it seems just to be on fast foward but in real life you start to jump up and down in your seat and your focus on the track gets way stronger. After my first round I was all sweaty and done like I was doing hard work out... Oh and I used a Honda Civic 2.0i-vtec Type R.
I guess Manuel can agree to my feelings.

What was your fastest lap Manuel?
Although I'm not worrying about lap times, according to my video's it was a 09.46 (BTG)
I've done faster laps in the past, but this time it wasn't really a good weekend to set fast lap times. Changeable weather on Saturday, and lots of traffic and yellow flags on Sunday. I was doing a nice lap on Saturday, but than I stopped at Adenauer Forst because a biker had crashed (he was ok, his bike wasn't)

I agree 100%. There are lots of places where I know I could go flat out (Fuchsröhre, Kesselchen uphil section, the left hander before Hohe Acht, Sprunghugel,...) but I just don't have the confidence in myself and my car yet. Like you said, PD did a nice job of recreating the Ring, it just looks exactly the same as in real life, but the sensation is a whole lot different. The "jumps" at Flugplatz, Schwedenkreuz & Sprunghugel ....
Oh, it makes me want to go back again :P

Yeah just being there is probably amazing! i was just curious since last time you said you would try, but i can see it not being an easy task with the traffic and weather, thx for sharing 👍

and in addition you got to have trust in yourself until you really can push your car. when I attempted there, I was like oh I will go on a blast! I was so excited, but as soon I was going over 160km/h 100mp/h on this bumpy ride I was scared like wow! Because the risk is so high to make a mistake. :nervous: when you usually just drive your car in straight roads with normal average speeds.

Just found this thread, inspired me :). I have 1,5 hours to get to the ring.
I´ll probably go there on sunday 14th. See IDS first and then go and try my first round in a Swift. :D

Doing the ring for the first time is like loosing your virginity , you have no real clue what your meant to be doing , but you don't want to get it wrong and after it's over you just want to tell your buddies who awesome it was!

I might go to the IDS aswell this sunday if the weather is okay :sly:

Maybe we could arrange somekind of GTP meeting on the Ring someday, and post our day on here for everybody overseas :)

Nice pics, Manuelos! Thanks for posting. 👍 I'm sooo... envious! Do you guys camp out when you go there?

@ esoxhntr: I thought the same about helmets. We even need them for road car quarter mile drags over here.

LMAO at Felix79's analogy. Spot on!

Nice pics Manuel. Shame about the bad weather and the traffic though. Glad you tackle the 'Ring once again! Me sooo envious!!! :P:lol:

And I like the analogy Felix, loved it.👍

And I do agree about the helmets, they should have people with some kind of safety gear just in case something happens out there on the 'Ring.

I can't wait to hit the real Nurburgring one day (I'm in the US) and lose my "virginity"! :sly:👍

Yesss!!! I lost it today :)
It is absolutely fantastic!
The only thing you can do after the first lap ever is :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Im so glad I didn`t kill my car or even myself.
