I race at the Nurburgring professionally, also in the upcoming 24h race im running on a SP7 Porsche GT3.

That's some awesome driving!
By the way, what do you ringers think about the track in the game? Is it close to reality?

I did a private track day on the 'ring two weeks ago. It's the best way to drive it as you are able to drive complete laps including the main straight which normally closed at its the start and finish point for public driving. Here's my best lap of the day

oh guys, thats really cool, for me its too far the ring!, and also i dont have a car yet , but oh well, i see you guys know a lot of engines and car parts, but where did you learned? university or just as a hobby?

it would be really cool to know cause i like a lot cars, and i dont know where to start learning about engines and modifications.

I wish i drove on the ring for real, in its on my bucket list to take my 97 gti vr6 over for a day of lapping but several of my psn friends and I have done thousands of laps racing, hot lapping, and testing and tuning on our favorite track and the best track in the world.

Went to the ring on Sunday ... rain rain rain :(
In the wet it's soooo unbelievable slippery out there :scared:

Dale?!?!? OMG ...you kidding me right? If you are ...that would be EPIC! I am a HUGE fan ...especially of your Ring updates (like the giant penis clean-up thing) :-). My apologies if you are not Dale ...but do you know him them?

Next Ring trip is booked :)
The 4th of May (evening session) and a whole day on the 5th
And we're back in 1 piece :)
Sunday morning were the finest laps I've ever done. Nearly no traffic at all and beautiful sunshine. In the afternoon it was crowded as usual ... closures, yellow flags, nothing new at the ring. There was a belgian guy who we had been talking to in the morning, who totalled his clio williams in the afternoon 👎

I'll have a look if I can upload one of my laps one of these days.

I try to go 2-3 times a year to the ring.
The start/finish is always fun with lots of different cars, its like one big car meeting (mostly on sunday) Lots of Porsche GT3 RS and BMW M3's. Last month i even saw a black Veritas RS III.

GT5 does a good job for track layout, to know which section comes up next etc. Other things cant be made, like a Wiesmann GT MF5 roaring past you at 240+ km/h. :scary:

Below some pictures from my car:

Had a trip last weekend of April 27th and 28th, drove a rental from RentRacecar, a "Folkevogn" Scirocco Cup and had some laps in my new donkey powered "badger" Alfa Romeo 159 SportWagon Ti 2.0 JTDm (170 BHP) (Dale didn't have any car available at Rent4Ring ;-) )

The Alfa was actually incredible roadhugging car... The Scirocco was fast, easy and somewhat twitchy when trailbraking, forced to it's limits though.
I have a friend who is a racecar driver in the VLN series, and drove the 24N last week. He gave me the thumbs up both for the Alfa which he drove for 2 laps, and my pace around there in the Scirocco when he joined me as pax on Sunday 28th:-D
Had to report a crazy driver to the marshals too, think he got away with a warning, he was about to get the "Pineapple Prize" and was a danger to himself and others, weaving about, etc... holding a bunch of faster cars up, including me. I guess he was a newbie there, and not done his homework on polite driving, give way to faster traffic, and NOT try do some kind of competition type of driving... Rgds To fellow "Ringers" here :-D

Nice update. Hey . . . how about some pics, eh?

Great to hear about the Alfa, and good to know you stayed safe away from the Pineapple Express. Obviously he had never played any Gran Turismo, or else he would have known a little more about the Ring than tarmac and trees.

There always a bunch of newbies there, most are polite and use mirrors, but lot of traffic, especially on the "crazy sundays" it can be a bit wild out there. I tend to avoid mid day on those sundays, best is to drive very early when the Ring opens and late afternoon, and go for a long lunch between 10 -11:00 until past 15:00 when the opening hours are from 08:00 - 19:20. Mostly "Ringers" in the early hours, and nice period to drive there then, everyone have a understanding of give way, signal, use of mirrors etc. I usually overtake cars, except those cars with grunt under the bonnet with a driver who know to use it :-)

Only been the once. I was always planning to go back when I finished my s14a but life got in the way and I had to sell it. I had a built engine with hks pistons. Was saving for turbo horsham chip and injectors then she would have had 400 plusbhp. Are you on sxoc? The best thing about my ring trip was the convoy we drove there in. Evo mr fq320 with 400bhp. Ford Gt 40 1969 replica. 911 rsr replica built with carbon fibre. 2 other 911. Ferrari 348. Rouch mustang. Shnitzer bmws. Cosworth forsd. Rs 500 . Gtr r33 lm blue with 600bhp. 19 crazy cars with good people behind the wheel

I've sold my S14A, which had all suspension parts changed, brakes from APRacing, which is the same type mounted on the Koenigsegg CCX, engine tuned to 305 HP / 422 Nm on the wheels.. Was a fun car to drive, fast roadhugging performance, and the stopping power and control of those brakes, which was the best upgrade ever I did to that car, was enormous ! Hope you can return to the Ring again defsxoc :-), I have a profile at the SXOC, but after I sold my car I have'nt been there for long. the convoy of cars you guys drove must been quite a sight ! The 200SX blew turboflange gaskets so often due to the 1,5 bar pressure, heat etc.. Actually my new family car, an Alfa Romeo SportWagon Ti.. with a donkeypowered diesel engine with BHP is fabulous car to drive, and maybe better on turn in, roadholding performance than my old S14A on tight bends. Overall at high speed the S14 was better when it came to roadholding, but it understeered a bit, had a top speed around 265 km/h on the GPS at the Autobahn. Very easy to handle when forced beyond limits, with a slight oversteer. My next step for the ring would be RCN, VLN and ultimate: 24N racing :-D

So, how was it this time?
👍

Managed to do 16 laps on Sunday. Did 5 "full wet" laps in the morning, a few damp ones around noon and the rest fully dry. It was quiet calm, especially in the morning and after 4PM.
Normally I would have done a few laps on Saturday evening also. But because VLN ended at almost 6PM instead of 5PM, there wasn't any touristenfahrten anymore.
Timed one lap, something I normally never do, and did a 9.07 BTG :sly:
