I finished my A spec NA-A Roadster Cup, and now i want to beat the B spec one. But my awesome driver b spec driver bob always goes into grass or spin out of control. I basically bought all the upgrade already for the miata. I was wondering anyone knows the best setup for a miata not to over power spin out but fast enough to pass the other old citizen drivers in b spec? my car is MX-5 Miata 1.8 RS (NB, J) '98 btw.

Is the car over-steering? i.e. rear end swings out.
If so, then add a wing and give it much more rear downforce.
Also you may want to increase the rear brake bias.
Increase the negative camber on both the front and rear tires.
Give the rear tires minor toe in.

yea, when he was driving, the rear swings out like crazy even with rear spoiler. I dont have time to experiment the setting now, but probably in couple of days after i play around the specs and get back. I didn't mind spending money on the mod on the car since i know miata is a fun car to drive

Level the guy up, and don't pressure him when he's racing. He'll drop back to start with but then as he calms and settles into the race he'll be a lot faster. My guy was something like level 9 when he passed it, which was probably overkill. Get the heat meter or whatever it is in about the middle and keep it there, and you'll win.

Which is the best MX-5?

They're all decent, although the NC '07 is quickest out of the box.

A low-level b-spec driver is always going to be a noob and spin cars easily, but you can mitigate the effects by keeping him out of the red zone on his mood meter, and setting the car up so it's not oversteer-prone. If you've got an adjustable suspension, make the camber higher in the rear than the front, dampers a tick softer, and the AR bar softer in rear as well.

If all that still doesn't work, you may have to just go level up your driver a bit.
