Nascar 4 Golds 1 Silver = Prize Car!!!???

I just completed the nascar championship 4 gold and 1 silver in laguna.
i was bummed because i had to play laguna again. My cars power went down after the first race. (sucks, I forgot to change the oil before starting ) I lost by half a car. This was the first time through any nascar bspec. so no trophies before i played the championship.

So after i went home (gt life) to change the oil to gold that track and check the ucd. Then bam

got the merc. from the ticket, saved, then checked the bspec section and its was showing gold in laguna
went out tripping, got in the merc and saved. Make sure I had it. Then I went back to bspec and it was silver. but i still had the prize car.

So got back in the nascar with oil change (full power) and whopped laguna. I got the gold trophy. I did not get a second car though.

as long as you win a champtionship race, all trophies get gold, if you win the championship, but you must finish the laps.

you don't even have to finish the race... as long as you have enough points to win, you can even skip the last race in some championships by starting it and exiting the race right after the green light starts the race.

I race most championships like this, and go back and run the last race later. makes sense to me... why race it now when i can procrastinate!

What everyone else said so far is correct! However, no one so far is addressing the issue that he got second and got a gold trophy for the race only to come back later and see that it was correctly changed back to silver.

I swear I have entered some races, found my car to be far underpowered for the particular event and exited the race. I then bought a car, found someone's tuning tips in the tuning forums, and tuned my new car up. When I went back to the same race that I exited, one that I am 90% sure that I never finished before.. there was a gold trophy. This has to be some kind of bug, but I haven't been able to replicate it.

Disclaimer: The bug could just be with my memory (the one in my head, not the ps3 )! Anyone else had similar experience?

Yeah most championships you can skip the last race entirely and still win it.

Dream car championship this works well as it sucks doing the ring in the rain as the last event. Takes forever.

You can't skip the last race entirely because you will not complete the championship series -- you have to enter the last race, start it and then quit. In other words, you don't have to finish the last race to win the championship, but you have to enter it.

Me personally? If I didn't gold all the events but still won the championship, I would go back to the single track and win it--so all the trophies would be gold. Except the FGT Monaco race. Lol
