Sorry for leaving quickly yesterday, but my condition did not allow me to race. The odds of seeing me turn into a moving chicane were too high so I chose to retire to focus on shrinking my marks for my other race of the night, the infamous Sofa-toilet classic.
Sadly, I had to make a couple more laps than I wished.

Hello, It's been a while. Any open spots?

I haven't played in quite a while but finally today I played some. I had the spiking issue with my G27 which is the main reason I stopped playing for some time. However, I finally decided to look up a video and fix it, took me a few hours and but works fine now. Though, it could go bad again in the future.

I had other stuff to do but I was mostly too lazy to do it haha. My car being in the shops after a small accident (someone backed up on me, bender fender) certainly helped. It's been a few days since I left it and today with nothing to do I just had to fulfill my driving needs!

If there's an open spot I'll join you guys this coming Sunday.

Hi Rehdogg - yes we'd love you back, full-time if possible!

I won't be able to attend on Sunday, so Lex Lathor will be Hosting the meeting.

@Sick Cylinder, I can't change my vote in the poll but I bought the Ferrari 250 GTO today which only leaves the Alfa that I don't have yet. I reckon I'll have the Alfa today or tomorrow. I probably should have just clicked on them all in the poll, knowing that I was going to buy them anyway.

Car Show.jpg

I went to a free car show after work yesterday and saw some fantastic cars - here are a few of my favourites. Below exotics from Ferrari, Porsche, AC and Sunbeam.

Slide 23 Mustang Merc Clarke.jpg

Above 1960's Mecedes saloon and Ford Mustang were in perfect, better than new condition. Above right controls of Clarke steam car showing tiller steering and below twin cylinder, double acting, compound steam engine. I was lucky enough to see it arrive and park in its space - it was very quiet - just a gentle chuffing sound. The owner said that top speed was 30mph and maximum pressure 400psi - it was the only car without a steering wheel!

Below a complete contrast - the hot rods! My favourite was powered by a very rare Desoto Firedome Eight with four carbs - one of the earliest American V8's with hemispherical combustion chambers.

Slide 27 Transporter Desoto anglia Porsche.jpg

Above Desoto saloon with fins contrasts with Porsche Spyder race car. 1941 Willys Coupe drag car came on a vintage GMC truck. Ford Anglia was nicely resto-modded. John Fitzpatrick won the British Saloon Car Championship in an Anglia in 1966 - definitely a car that deserves to be in GT7!

Slide 24 Vanguard.jpg

Above, one for lovers of car derived pickups - looks like a Standard Vanguard Phase 3 Ute. MG Midget looked like a lot of fun. I took a lot more pictures - I'll post a few more if you want!

HI Sick,

I’m sorry to report that I’ll have to drop down to being a reserve driver. For the last few month’s I’ve not been getting much time to practice and lately, I’ve missed a couple of races without warning, like last week. Sorry.

I know that I can’t race this Sunday either. Hopefully I’ll be back the week after.

I think you’re doing a great job with the series’ and your knowledge, hard work and enthusiasm makes it very worthwhile.

I’ve also got to become friends with some great guys and great racers too. I’ve learnt a lot so far. When I started I was still using automatic gears and racing tyres everywhere. Plus I now know one word of Hungarian. Hajra!!

So a big thanks to all and I’ll see you soon.

Tony

To follow up, I have now bought the Alfa too to complete the set.
So where the poll says 5 votes for the 250 GTO, that should now be 6 votes & where it says 7 votes for the Alfa, that should now be 8 votes. 👍

That's the car I'm using, it's a mistake on the OP which I've mentioned previously

Apologies - Page one of thread now amended.

@rehdogg15 if possible please change to a different car - maybe the 2011 version. Both GTP TLE and @rehdogg15 are very fast drivers so will probably be going head to head in races.

Have a great race tomorrow with Lex Lathor guys and looking forward to seeing you again the following Sunday.

I think I only have time to do the XNR race and the first NASCAR race before I have to go, not sure but I'll see.

Then I will miss the next 3 rounds as I'll be in Vietnam for the rest of the month in a few days.

Had really good races last week! First win which is great :) and had a really fun race in the second NASCAR race, constant battling from start to checkered flag with Lex, Pimki and Harsk (congrats on win!) I'd even say it was one of my favourite races I've ever done.

So thanks to Sick for organising this, the rules and regs have allowed great racing through the field so far, from what I'm seeing in the replays.

Here's some photos:

I've no idea what it is but look at the exhaust! You'd have to be careful when reversing.
There's a Little Red Corvette in front of it.
And two Porsche's in front of the Little Red Riding Hood Corvette.

It had the Ferrari emblem/logo on the hood/bonnet.

I can check the license plate with the Vehicle Department when I get back home. They have a number you can text and it provides you the information within seconds. I just can't remember that number right now.

It certainly looked like a Ferrari logo when I glanced at it,
turns out it is a modified VW.
