The season begins for the big three series starting tonight. Any of you have any picks to win at Daytona in Trucks, Nationwide, and/or Cup? What about dark horse picks to win? My best wishes are with all drivers and teams racing at Daytona this weekend.

The 31 & the 29 look to be the two cars to beat in the 500. Both can push, both can lead and they're also really fast, although the Hendrick cars also look competitive, I'm interested in seeing what junior can do from the back of the pack.

Penske vs RCR for the 500. Kurt looks quick, Wallace (forget him), but Brad Keselowski is my dark horse. The RCR boys worked well during the shoot-out, and they should go well.

Don't rule out Hamlin either, and also, the Roush Fords. They are lurking under the radar.

Steven Wallace doesn't have a chance since he's not even in top notch equipment. Not sure what and where Rusty Wallace gets his cars/engines from.

Danica Patrick qualified on the provisional pole for the Nationwide Daytona race, but later qualified 4th. That's great for Danica. I just want her to have the same level of consistency and fire in stock cars as she's exhibited in IndyCar. I think she'll find her stride in stock cars. Remember how well she did in the ARCA race last year? I said that Danica's move from ARCA to Nationwide is like going from Rookie Minor League Baseball to Triple-A Major League Baseball. Danica WILL be a Top 10 finisher (and perhaps win a few races) in the stock car ranks. Always pulling for that #7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet in Nationwide.

She definitely has the talent, but it's going to take some time. It's taken other open-wheel converts about 3 years to fully adjust to stock cars.

Holy crap, I just noticed a startling irony: Micheal is in the 15 and the truck behind him is the 3

Damn, some sharp driving by Peters. How he managed to avoid it all is amazing.

And today is the 10th anniversary of dales death.

Anyhow seeing as we got 3 clean trucks left we can narrow down the choices of the finish quite well.

Here's another interesting piece of irony: Waltrip is a car or two in front of, Earnhardt. What are the odds of that?

Edit: Micheal just won it!! Holy hell, I just can't believe what I saw. My heart has been been pounding mercilessly.

Pretty good truck race tonight, well, the last 25 laps really. Only Busch and Waltrip were able to push the whole way around the track. That's the one thing about the shrub, he upsets a lot of people, but he damn sure does some stuff other people wont that is plain cool, like pushing on the outside until water is spraying out the overflow, just because no one else wanted to make the outside work.

Anyways, great for Mikey, that was an awesome move for the win, and he really showed his plate experience tonight. A good way to honor a friend I'd say, and to the day...

I've got some videos I'm going to try and upload when I get a chance, we figured we could not get a good enough shot with the point and shoot from either the Shootout or tonight, so I guess I dropped the ball there.

Looking forward to tomorrows race, I don't get the Danica woo-hoo, but, whatever, I'm sure there is no ECR powerplant under the hood. I'm interested in what Trevor Bayne is going to do with that No. 21 Ford come Sunday. Hopefully it's all massaged out, because he was well paired with Gordon on Thursday, what an upset that would be if he could do something with it. I'd like to see someone new win the 500 this year, like Jamie Mac did last year, actually, come to think of it, it normally is not won consecutively, or even repeats. Bring on the 500. Down with the two car draft!

The truck race was obviously rigged, just like Jr. being on the pole(they obviously had him crash so people would shut up).:grumpy::P:sly:

Apparently Brian Keselowski(#92 Dodge) is getting all kinds of help from other teams/people. Evernham is paying his tire bill and Penske gave him a better engine. He supposedly is also working on a sponsorship deal with Golden Corral.

^That's the kind of thing that makes NASCAR so unique.

Also, RIP Dale.

That is very cool. Like Jr gave I can't think of his name from the Nationwide series a car to race because something happened to his.

Vague right? I know it's something like that though

Yes the 88 & 24 qualifying 1 & 2 is rigged.

Surprise the 88 back up car had a top 10 practice speed in todays session. That is sooo rigged too. Oh wait, all four of the Hendrick cars made the top 10 for practice speed in todays last practice, it must be rigged.

Not sure on that either but that johanna long :embarrassed::tup:

Jenny isn't too bad either ;). She's hungry for wins, not being the female face of NASCAR and IRL. Like sooome people.

Being the face of who gives a damn is not going to help her win any races. Just like in IRL when it's time to beat & bang for a win, Danica Patrick will be nowhere to be found but in the back following the front runners. NASCAR needs to ditch Dancia & make either Jenny or Johanna the new female face to promote.

You couldn't be more correct!!!

I seriously can't give away two tower tickets to today's Drive 4COPD 300!

No one I know wants them... I can't go, I guess no one else can either.

Bowyer and Burton have run 200.31 mph in practice. I figured no one would be risking anything at this point in the week.
