Hopefully not bad enough to warrant a back-up car.

I don't think that wreck affected any race entries other than cars going to the back. Trevor Bayne was in on qualifying time I think.

Nice, been too long since Jeff Burton was in victory lane. Good fun in both Gatorade Duels, bring on Sunday.

Car is pancaked on the right and there might be some damage on the left were Bayne got into him. Looks like it was mostly body damage.

Hear what DW just said? "If you can see the other truck, he can help you". Referring to CWTS drafting and the hole they punch in the air.

They say that every year. It's even a line in Days of Thunder, so I'm guessing it's either been "common knowledge" for years or they got it from the movie.

Darrell Waltrip and some of the guys in the [truck] booth being former racers, I think they kinda have it on good authority.

I can't see how a bunch of numbskulls (myself included) on a forum for a video game would have more accurate knowledge. Especially considering how many of us have or do race in any of the 3 major NASCAR series.

I'm not questioning them at all.

Those are big cars and at those speeds are most certainly moving a ton of air around and even a tiny bit of air movement can make the car behind by a good distance gain speed.

Would be cool to see technical analysis of the airflow off and behind the car and not the simple animations they showed to explain how the two car draft works.

With the trucks being a bit taller I guess so.

The fin on the bed they have this year is helping the air move faster over the sides of the trucks.

LMAO, just saw that sow "The 10" and I'm in stitches at some of the moments. They were talking about DW doing the icky shuffle after winning the 500. "White people can't dance". I had to rewind the DVR just to make sure I wasn't hearing things

I dont know about technical analysis but I can tell from experience at daytona after the pack blows by you you feel the wave of air rushing that the cars pushed. Then maybe 7-10 seconds after the cars rushed by you feel a breeze almost filling the void the cars left. You can even see it in the lingering smoke.

We learned that a last second sling shot is inneffective. The 33 could get around. 'Dega is a different animal.

If the finish line was moved to after the pits @ Daytona then the slingshot would work the same as it does @ 'Dega. There isn't enough of a run after turn 4 @ Daytona to do this because of the aero package the Sprint cars are running right now. IMHO the finish @ 'Dega is even more exciting & hectic there. I love Daytona but this 2x2 racing not what I am looking forward on Sunday.

I really hope they do, it gets tiring seeing them freak out everytime someone hits 200.
