Is it just me or does the 21 and 32 have the exact same paint scheme?

There are some minor differences.

But, otherwise, yes they do.

Stewart and Almirola over 200MPH in Nationwide series.*

*Without touching bumpers, just strait up drafting a pack.

They do. The broadcasting team said NASCAR was working on something. The Nationwide practice was more enjoyable to watch than the Cup drivers acting out Noah's Ark.

And NASCAR decides to slow the Nationwide series cars down. Wonderful NASCAR, just keep shooting yourselfs in the foot 👎

They have this pre-determined notion that 200+mph means instant death for any driver that crashes.

Oh, they use the plate and spacers on the Nationwide cars.

At this point, I'm debating on if I should even watch any of the races this weekend. Trucks haven't even gotten on track yet (at least I haven't seen them anyhow) and I'm considering just bypassing them. And with NASCAR being the pansies they are as soon as someone hits 200, I've not sure I even want to see how bad they'll butcher everything else.

Edit: Oh crap, Nationwide cars have now hit 200 MPH for a 2nd time. Once again, these changes are useless.

I'm just about ready for the Trucks to start hitting 200 MPH and then NASCAR catching a Heart attack and slowing them down.

They should just stop doing crap. If the drivers feel unsafe they'll say something about it.

NASCAR would be fun to watch if they actually brought some new changes to it. They have essentially been running the same thing for over 20 years.

There's definitely more to it that just cooler temps. In practice 1 the top speeds were set without bump drafting. I'm guessing in Practice 2 BK and Tony were brave enough to try what they do in Cup. Like Jr said after his crash, making the plate smaller isn't really going to slow the two car draft but it will slow the cars that aren't in them even more.

Im not that angry that ill be working literally from start to finish of the 500 anymore. I expect a crappy race.

I doubt it'll top the gutless ARCA race just for the fact that actual passing will happening every lap and possibly a great finish like the shootout, but then again, maybe I'm just trying to convince myself to actually watch.

That was a typical Daytona ARCA race.

Everytime I see it, usually its a crashfest throughout the race. This time it was strangely uneventful with nowhere near as many cautions as it usually has and unlike last year's finish, nobody was even trying to make a pass.

The crashes took place still but were not as plentiful as last year. I am wondering if the new surface had anything to do with the fact nobody wanted to get out of line to try anything?

I hate to try to bring up another form of racing to a NASCAR thread, but here goes. I still hark back to seeing that one video of a Champ Car racing around Texas Motor Speedway. There was supposed to be a (then) CART race there in 2001. I still remember seeing how fast the car was going around Texas. It was so fast, but so dangerous. It would be tough to imagine if a crash (minor or major) happened with several more cars in battle. I would feel safer in a stock car at 200+ mph than I would in an Indy car. If there isn't much in the complaints department to slow the cars down, then I don't think NASCAR should regulate speeds.

vfrmaverick brought up an interesting point about whether or not to see the full race. I remember watching "WindTunnel With Dave Despain" once a few years ago, and someone was talking about only watching the final 20 laps or something. I've seen entire major races before (or at least most of them). Will you be watching the full Daytona 500 or only care about the ending? I'll try to see as much as I can of this year's race.

Some of the drivers were talking about blacking out from the G's they were pulling @ that track during practice. Reagardless of that the drivers still went out there to practice knowing full well of the danger.

Ive missed funerals to see restrictor plate races in the past. By far my favorite type of racing and they completely ruined it. Whats this junk in practice of everyone doing the 2 car tango junk. Horrible! Open up the plates and run 220 if that takes the 2 car stuff away, it may even be safer in the end that way.

Edit: Ignore me, turns out I'm 24 hours and 2 pages behind everyone else :dunce:
