Seems like the new surface at Daytona made for some fast racing. I didn't see all of the Budweiser Shootout, but I've heard so much about the cars doing speeds north of 200 mph. I wonder how these speeds will play a factor for when the Daytona 500 takes place next weekend.

The way the cars are set up right now isn't working at all. Sure it's exciting to see two cars hook up and go to the front, but if you're by yourself or in a large pack you look like you're traveling half the speed. Reminds me of our Kart racing last night online with the boost on. Lots of speed behind someone, but as soon as you pull out from behind you drop 20 miles an hour.

Good job by Kurt Busch last night, about time he won on a restrictor plate track. Bring on next week.

Thats restrictor plate racing.

Last nights race was a good one. Really liking this package on the cars.

Good to see Kurt win a plate race.

You know what, I just made a relization of irony whilst were in the midst of the tenth anniversary: Paul Menard's NASCAR career (In Nationwide and Cup that is), started with a one team started by Dale Earnhardt and this year, he's with a Cup team who's star driver was...Dale Earnhardt.

Its really weird seeing Kurt with the 22 Number and Shell Colours .

Not too sure about the 2 Car Packs , but the Lap Speeds where pretty nuts

I'm looking forward to the 500 lots 👍 at least the Track may last the whole race this time :D

Still trying to get used to it as well. I've had to stop myself many times from say Kurt everytime I see the 2 car

Dale Jnr currently on pole for the 500. Jeff Gordon 2nd, Trevor Bayne 3rd(!) and Paul Menard (4th).

49.64?! 34th... That was unexpected...

EDIT: Steering problems apparently

Yeah right when I turned the tv on I saw him mow the lawn! I'm surprised he was still as fast as he was considering he had a gaping hole in his valence.

No hole, just tape out of place. The steering wheel was not completely on it's splines. "Driver error".

When I say that I have a feeling something happens, it usually proves me wrong and blows up in my face. But something tells me that Dale Earnhardt Jr. WILL win the Daytona 500 next Sunday. Maybe as a way of paying respect to Dale Sr. on this tenth anniversary of Dale Sr.'s tragic last-lap crash.

Otherwise, go Jeff Gordon! ^_^

Maybe thats why Jamie Mac drafted with him... he saw a Pennzoil car ith him lol (Daytona and Talledega last year remember.)

Still, this new racing is gonna be dicy. With 10 cars it was ok, but 40? We are gonna need a lotta room. I'm pulling my belts tight Sunday night...

I think the racing in the Shootout was just meh...

I was and still am not a fan of this two car thing. It's fine if a few cars do it, but honestly, I watched Harvick push Gordon for maybe 25 laps in the second segment. It was like everyone was afraid to give an inch and even swap the push for the tow. I look forward to tight pack racing, and while that existed for short periods of time, it was mostly 12 cars racing even though there were 24. I really can't see 500 miles going that way, and with the changes that are supposed to come this week, hopefully there wont be a chance.

It's just my opinion, but it's not as entertaining. Oh well, I was really hoping Harvick would get the hat trick, he just could not find another drafting partner.

Looking forward to the 150's Thursday.

The shootout was insane, I'm surprised everyone at the front was able to do the two car tandem thing for the whole race without overheating or anything. o.O

Boo NASCAR for trying to change it, this is more fun for the fans and the drivers instead of running 3 wide 12 rows deep.

Like i said mostly boring having just 2 cars locked up. Nascar is making it an even more spec race by mandating radiator plumbing and the pressure relief valves for the systems too.

And squashing the spirit of competition even more...

Just made this:

Was fooling around with Vegas while waiting for class to start. Probably not funny to anyone else, but whatever.
