Wrong. Winning under caution is not racing at all.

Somehow all of you have evidence that beer throwing is done by Jr. fans. 👎
I would like to see who exactly made that claim because I just see us agreeing that showing your disapproval by throwing garbage at a driver is immature no matter who the driver is. Its also funny how no one seems to listen to what Jr said afterwards. Not true fans to me.

Who else would? Kyle Busch has been racing the other drivers hard, and clean this season, which is a change from his "win or wreck" attitude of the past. And to my knowledge the only driver he wrecked (be it accidental or intentional) was Dale Jr..

Plus, what fans have a past history of throwing garbage and such on the track?

Not to mention Dale Sr. is one of those known for exactly that win-or-wreck attitude.

And people have often compared Busch to Dale Sr. because they were both similar in driving style and for having the determination to win.

A LOT of drivers from the late '70s/early '80s were like that. See "Jaws" Waltrip or Rusty Wallace. Hell, in the early '90s you had Ernie Irvan.

In about 5-10 years, Busch may be one of those well-loved drivers...and someone ELSE will become the rowdy loudmouth kid.

Well, though he isn't my favorite driver, Kyle has my respect before he got on a hot streak. HE has that checker or wrecker mentality that NASCAR has been missing..

When he reaches 40, probably with numerous championships under his belt, he'll have legions of fans. His car-control is supreme, and he managed to keep some very loose cars from spinning. He won dominantly at Sears Point, and he won on every type of track this season - he's not a one-trick pony, either.

Right now, he simply had the misfortune of spinning the wrong guy (popular driver) at the wrong time (battling for the lead with a few laps to go, and Dale didn't break the streak yet at the time).

Tony Stewart leaving JGR for new HAAS Team

Now that he is part owner of his own team, maybe he can lose some weight and try the Double Duty again, Indy 500 and Coke 600 on the same day

Also this opens up the door to Cup for Joey Logano. However I do think Joey Logano should race full time in the Busch Series next season and only spot race in the #20 car.

Joe Gibbs should try something like what DEI is doing with the 8, Have a veteran run about 80% of the races and the youngster the rest.

Joey Logano isn't ready for Cup Racing, it's quite obvious after watching him at the Milwaukee Mile. He has talent, no doubt, but you need more then that to race at the top level. Also, he hasn't even raced at a 2.5 mile or maybe even a 2.0 mile track yet

Don't rush him into Cup Gibbs

According to some things I read about Stewart buying into the Haas team that he would become the highest paid driver in NASCAR history. I'm a little worried about the short term though, because it looks like both teams won't be in the top-35 in points by seasons' end which would mean that Stewart, and whichever driver he chooses to be his teammate will have to qualify on time next year.

I don't think Joey is quite ready for cup yet, he hasn't even been approved to compete at tracks over 1.5 miles (i.e. Michigan, Daytona, Talladega, etc.) in the Nationwide series yet, let alone in the Cup series. Why not have long time Gibbs test driver Mike McLoughlan share the seat with Logano?

This is apparentely my 113th post in this thread. The next race for Nationwide and Sprint (not sure about the Trucks) will be at Chicagoland. This time, the boys will run circles of Joliet, IL at night. Most interesting thing about Chicagoland is that you are always moving and don't have very much room to simply go straight and stay straight. Being up in the Midwest at night, it may be a pretty cool night with low temperatures. Perhaps pretty cold temperatures. But if it gets cool, you bet your backside that NASCAR will heat things up in the Windy City.

Kyle Busch wins again!

Win total
Cup: 7
Nationwide: 5
Trucks: 2
_____________
Total: 14

The record for most wins in a season is 27 by Richard Petty in 1967

The modern era record is 13 by Richard Petty in 1975 then again by Jeff Gordon in 1998

If Kyle Busch keeps this pace and wins the Sprint Cup Title he could rather should win male athlete of the year

My lord, is there anything this guy can't do? Second-to-last lap pass around the outside of the reigning champ? You gotta have balls the size of an elephant's to try that! And damn my ESPN Fantasy team did well, Vickers 6th, Kenseth 7th, Regan 8th! (Just forget about Blaney, I don't even know where he actually finished, out top-20? 👎)

I think the only time a driver who has won at least 7 of the first 19 cup races and didn't win the title was Jeff Gordon in '96, so you really now have to consider Kyle Busch not only as a contender, but a favorite for the cup championship this year. Once the chase comes, there's a vast mix of tracks, and I believe Kyle runs good at all of them, except for Martinsville and (until this year) Talladega.

And Kenseth came from 30th, 1 lap down with about 80 laps to go and made up nearly all that ground.

That damned Kurt Busch! He won another one! It would be bitter disappointment if Kurt Busch doesn't win at least one points championship come the end of the schedules for all three NASCAR touring series.

My debate is a little just-for-fun. Take a look:

John's Debate! - "...With the Lights on Bright" and Unrepresented Markets
You may respond to either or both questions.

1.) This past Saturday's circuits around Chicagoland are the first at night for this track. Pretty fun to enjoy night racing southwest of Chicago. Name as many tracks as you can in which you'd like to see or would pay to see a night race held at (NOTE: This applies to any course raced by NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, or NASCAR Trucks that isn't run at night). What track in any division of NASCAR's top series makes for great night racing?

2.) Chicagoland Speedway (or Superspeedway?) is based about 20 or so miles southwest of Chicago in the city of Joliet. Sears Point (Infineon Raceway) can be found in Sonoma, some distance away from beautiful San Francisco. Homestead can be found within vincinity of Miami. A variety of other race tracks are either in highly-represented markets in or around major cities. However, what are some of the general markets that isn't represented with a race in any of NASCAR's top series? What American region(s) do you think is/are the most poorly-represented sporting markets for NASCAR? Do you think NASCAR can prosper in any such locations? And since some American-based professional sports series have teams in Canada in Toronto, do you think NASCAR should have a race in the Toronto area (meaning a trip to Mosport)?

An answer I'd provide for my second question is the Houston area. We were bound years ago to have a track to host action in the greater Houston area with a superspeedway in Alvin (about a 1:00:00 or 1:30:00 drive south). The deal never materialized fully. All we have as far as major facilities are Houston Raceway Park in Baytown (about 20 to 30 minutes east of Houston. Has a drag strip and 3/8-mile dirt track), Houston Motorsports Park (has a short oval usually raced by ASA stock cars as well as a drag strip), and Motorsport Ranch Houston in Rosharon, TX. Other than that (or unless Motorsport Ranch Houston becomes upgraded to perhaps host Grand-Am and ALMS races, we basically don't have anything to offer to NASCAR. And if you REALLY want to speculate, imagine the area of what used to be Astroworld to be used to make a new short oval to be raced by NASCAR in the shadow of the historic Astrodome.

Your thoughts? NASCAR Sprint Cup has the week off to make ready for the Brickyard 400.

Talladega & Martinsville (there are already lights at Martinsville IIRC)

The Pacific Northwest.

Honestly mixed them up again. I'm sorry. Again... I'm human. A thing about me in doing these posts sometimes is that I'm too impatient and just want to hurry up and post something. Sometimes, I don't usually get a chance to proofread material that I pre-typed.

So my apologies yet again. Oh, look... E3 on (Microsoft spotlight). Take care, people!

I think the move towards night time racing first and foremost to increase ratings from primetime television spots

I'm really looking forward to Indianapolis, a nice break from your average cookie cutter 1.5 mile D shape oval

According to ESPNEWS, Penske won't keep Ryan Newman for next season. He's taking offers from other teams. Seems like the forthcoming Stewart-Haas Racing is the strongest possibility, but no deal has been signed.

He's also gotten offers from Joe Gibbs and RCR, but the most likely option for him will be Stewart-Haas.

Does anybody think Montoya has a chance to get a ride in the 12 or 20 or any team better then where he's at now?

Is his contract up at season end? Ganassi is notorious for not allowing his drivers to buy/opt out of their contracts.

But if he were given the opportunity to drive for a team like Gibbs, Penske, or RCR I think he would make the most of it and he would post some good results.

I dunno about JGR, can you imagine Kyle Busch and Juan Pablo in the same team? :scared:

That would be quite impressive should that happen. Montoya has enough talent that if he can get a better ride, he'll be in contention every race and alongside an already dominant Kyle Busch would be unstoppable I imagine.

Kyle Busch and Juan Pablo Montoya for JGR... that would be the hottest of-the-moment driver (and former champ) teaming up with a (then) CART champion, Indy 500 champion, and doing the toughest thing in racing- winning an F1 race. JGR COULD be the new Hendrick Motorsports if they gel together successfully.

Idk two aggressive drivers on one team might make a very competitive combination. I would actually LIKE to see that.

Right and how long would it take for JPM to complain that Busch's contingencey stickers look neater than his?

You know it would happen.

Anyone watch the ARCA RE/MAX series? I watching it right now and its a good battle between the #01 Toyota of Sean Caisse and the #2 Toyota of Scott Speed.
