Nascar type cars.

I love these cars. There big, fast and are just fun to watch( in my opinion ). My question is do you think would it be good or bad to includ these cars in the game. Most of the race cars on the GTs are Japanese or Eurpean road racers which in real life kinda bore me. All of the games with these cars on them don't have the physics that GT has and I've become tired of racing them on the road courses on those games cuz the physics are so different from GT that it is impossible to control over the hills.

I think you could get a Nascar type of car in GT2, if memory serves me right...it was the Ford Sho.

Anywho, Nascar type of cars in GT5...I don't know..how are they going to be raced..I don't know if I'll be having fun on the road course with them.

True I've just always wondered how much better they would handle on GT4 compared to the Nascar PS2 games. The one on GT2 was similar but not complete in the sense that it stay front wheel drive and the motor wasn't racing quality.

Ah yes, the GT2 one. It resembled Mark Martin's car.
If Nascar cars were in, it'd be perfect to make an endurance one the car Infineon Stock Car Course...

Watched it the other week too. :)

I watched a few laps at the end. I cracked up when Ricky Rudd ran out of gas after the second turn right after finishing the race.

I think it's a good idea. Some Brazilian stock cars would be nice too. It wouldn't even take that much data to put the whole 2006 (or '7, or whatever) NASCAR lineup in. Since they all have the same body, it'd just be a difference in paint schemes.

I wonder if (if they made it) PD would charge the player $1,000,000 to $2,500,000...How much does it take to make a Nascar?

Hey, Toyota will probably be in the Nextel Cup by the time GT5 rolls around, so that might increase the chance of them being included!

NASCAR Stock Cars in Gran Turismo... let me think about that... hell f:censored:in' no! Not even to race Test Course and Twin Ring Motegi Super Speedway. Even with about maybe 20 to a track, I personally won't race them in the next GT. Another complaint that would come is that some people would think PD can't come up with the distinctive stock car roar. And for most of us Americans who watch Speed Channel hoping for something other than some form of stock car oval racing, many of us know that sound pretty well. I'll race an Australian V8, but I wouldn't want a "stock" car in my virtual garage. If I wanted a "stock" car, I'd just race a car in stock form and not have to worry about a family sedan with a 700+ hp with no functional lights and doors, or an adjustable lip spoiler (or however it's described).

Having said this, to put it loosely, if you can road race a stock car around a tough road course, you can race anything. Jeff Gordon is my boy on road courses, though he's not having a good season right now. Maybe my disapproval of NASCAR stock cars in the game stretches into seeing these in GT games. I didn't really like the Racing Mod for the Ford Taurus in GT2 (though interesting), but if I wanted a pure NASCAR machine, I'd probably build up a past NASCAR race car. Maybe something from the old days. Either that, or I'd stay away from any sort of oval racing machine.

I think this can be summerized into about 6 words. :dopey:

NO ****ING NASCRAP CARS IN GT.

Usually, I'm the elaborate, expressive, Texan on GTP. So none of them in the game. If I had to choose a certain type of "stock" car, I'd go for those late-model stock cars with the wide bodies and low heights. Believe it or not, there is an actual stock car racing series that's mostly an East Coast deal, but they race... ROAD COURSES! Even in the rain! Still, wouldn't want one. Give me a Rocketsports Jaguar XKR Trans-Am race car. Maybe the 1999 HomeLink Ford Mustang Trans-Am racer driven by Paul Gentillozi, or maybe that Dodge Viper Trans-Am racer back in 2000 or 2001. Anything but an oval racer. If I want an oval racer in the next GT, Indy race cars would be perfect. No family sedan "race cars." You dig?

Its not your decision.

Even though only 1 "Nascar" has made it in the GT series, and probably won't have anymore, its NOT your decision.
EDIT: Its not mine, its not John's, its not anyone's but Yamauchi.

👍

Personally, I HATE NASCAR. I wouldn't mind seeing them in GT though. Like I've always said about cars in GT4, more the merrier. Yes, even the 500 Skylines.

Well if PD and KY know better they will agree.

I don't think they should even include the Dodge Viper Trans-Am even though I like it and Tommy Archer. They could have AT LEAST included the Dodge Viper RT/10 in it if they are gonna have 500 🤬 Skylines...

I'd welcome any car and any track.

As long as the level of detail and realism is held at the current levels or higher I am all for it.

Give me a few World of Outlaw sprint cars while you're at it too, and a few karts, and let me loose on a figure-eight crash 'em track and a demolition derby would be a riot. I haven't even gotten to the motorcycles yet....

How can Nascar be fun to watch first I think its one of the most boring motorsport racing out there, and 2 there go around and around in circles which has no skill in it.

OKAY-but can you drive around for 3 hrs with your car heater on high, all windows ruled up on a 90 degree day?? NO BREAKS?? I dont think so, you can say what you want but you have to be some sort of athletic shape to drive or be on the pit crew!! can you change 4 tires in less than 15 seconds??

Oh don't give me that 🤬 bull ****. Go watch a damn ALMS race, better yet and F1 race then try to tell me the above is harder. :dopey:

Man people think Nascar is so far below F1 adn Indy. It takes alot of skill to push a 3400 lbs. machine at 170 mph around a turn without having push into the wall or get loose and spin. Personally I think F1 and Indy racing are pretty ****ing boreing. Rarely do I see very many of the cars in those races finish the race or even finish on the lead lap. I'm not saying it takes no skill to drive F1 or Indy but I prefer the stock car racing.

Edit: What is the most popular Racing sport in America? NASCAR!!

I think Nascar fans should also watch some of the european racing like the BTCC and DTM.

Now that is what is called great racing with bumper to bumper action.

But turning the same way everytime is called easy to most racing drivers.

I have watched things like that on the speed channel( Tran Am Series ) and it is exciting to watch I just prefer to watch Nascar. I still have respect for all racing drivers cuz they all have skill other wise they never would have made it. The reason I want Nascar in the games is that when you look at it a good amount of European and Japanese racing leauges are represented in GT4 but barely any American apart from some historic and a couple trans am cars.

REASONS I DON'T WATCH NASCAR

1. The cars are not stock. Because of this, they look nothing like cars they are supposedly based on. This makes them boring.

2. The races are boring. They drive around in ovals, and the only thing that really happens is accidents, passing, or pitstops.

3. The commentators & drivers are hokey.

NASCar actually drives a couple of road courses during their regular season. There is Infineon, which is IN GT4, and Watkins Glenn, which is about as complex as Deep Forest ...

Honestly, I thought NASCar was a load of **** for the longest time as well. Oval tracks and country boys ... woo. But if they add more road courses it could get to be a good series. I think it has a place in Gran Turismo.

LoudMusic
Found another one, Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez is also a road course. So they're coming along nicely.

That's the one I was trying to think of but I couldn't remeber the name it was run by the Busch Series this year and had a very good turn out. And as for saying that Nascar races jus have passing, pit stops, and accidents then what the he** does other series have cuz if they don't that they would the most boreing thing to wtach on the planet.

CMcMahon
Yeah, but NASCAR races on a watered-down Sears Point, not the normal road course. They take out five or six of the harder turns.

Point is, they're not all oval races. Hell, the old Fuji course? Give me a break. That course is pathetic. And how about Tsukuba - not like that's an impressively difficult course either.

I think it could be represented in GT5, I wouldn't say a racing series shouldn't be just becasue I'm not as keen on it. KY's goal with GT is to feature all different types of car and racing disciplines around, NASCAR happens to be one of them so it fits into Kaz's ultimate vision.
