Yeah, please. The 2005 USGP fiasco is getting super-old. Even watching "WindTunnel with Dave Despain" later when the race was done, people been like "for F1 fiascos, thank goodness for NASCAR." I'm not a true NASCAR fan, much less an F1 guy. That Michelin race issue for that race is super old. I think one person on that show called in about the Daytona night race. I think somoene had a plan to remove restrictor plate racing (Dave Despain hates restrictor plate racing), and that plan someone made was to put a temporary chicane at Daytona. My only thing is, GET THE F:censored: OFF FORMULA ONE'S ASSES! On top of that, don't give me that "the French screwed us" crap either.
Look at "Pro Race Driver" and "TOCA Race Driver 2." PRD had the Chevrolet Monte Carlo stock cars, but no real teams. TOCA RD 2 had fictional stock cars. This game also featured a trailer of ASCAR (not NASCAR, the British variant ASCAR) at Rockingham (rock-en-hem here. This is England we're talking about). Part of the issue concerning such stock cars in the next GT is, will there be people who will actually want to race these machines around race tracks? I'm sure Japan doesn't really know or love NASCAR-type racing. This is even though NASCAR raced in Japan on a promotional deal at Motegi's oval and Suzuka. This is even though NASCAR has seen its first Japanese racer in JGTC/Super GT racer Hideo Fukuyama. To me, the reason why NASCAR-type stock cars aren't featured too much is the same reason why Australian V8 Supercars aren't featured too much. Either they aren't known too well around the world, or there aren't enough people who actually praise the motorsport. And I'm talking about as a whole. Not just a certain country, not just some race fans, but the world.
If PD were to pursue such race cars in their games, I'm okay with fictional paintschemes. You can't have real F1 cars, so fictional paint jobs with the Gran Turismo logo and the Polyphony Digital logo are perfectly fine with me. I'm not bothered that I can't race against NASCAR stars. Then too, I don't really care because I'm not this kind of racing. But if there were stock cars to look for in bigtime Gran Turismo racing, Late Model stock cars are best. Stock Car Road Racing Series. Would be the best reason to road race stock cars because that's what I want to do with these machines.
