I don't think so. Basketball is a team sport. If this "one player" argument was true, almost every single teams in the NBA is about that "one player", not just Chicago. Another way to look at it would be, if you take the best player out of almost any NBA team, their record will reflect it. Chicago also has 2, 3 players who could be a #1 on a bad team.
I do agree on Rookie/Sophmore game. If any single event would be mildly interesting, that would be it for me as well.
Yes your right, I over simplyfied it. I don't perceive basketball as not a team sport. It takes all 5 and sometimes 8 to be competitive in the league at a minimum. I wasn't trying to imply that it doesn't. But with respect to Chicago, I disagree that they have 3 guys that could be number ones. They have 2, IMO; Dang is part of their game. But Bozer stopped being a number 1 two years ago, and Bogan has never been a true number one. Apart from those guys who else do they have. The Bulls are +24 with Rose in the lineup, +18 with Dang. Take Rose or him out and what is left? A losing record.
Whether or not that extends to every team in the league, I don't think it does. The top teams all have 2 and most have 3 main guys, but they also have at least 2 to 4 others that are solid #2's, that could be #1's on bad teams, as you state. I don't see that with Chicago. I still believe that they fold without Rose. I don't see where their offense would come from without him in the line up. Just my opinion of them. Don't get me wrong, they're a good team, as long as he keeps playing at the level he is, but I don't see where the team can make up for his 24+ points a night.
