I would get the NBA League Pass but I'd have to fork out the money and most of the time I'm at school, hopefully they replay the game on One HD or something.

You can't afford $5 a week? Plus you don't have to watch it live, on the standard League Pass you can re-watch any game at any time within the last 24hrs.

I can afford it but I'm saving up for something else and don't really wanna just using my card yet. Plus I'd barely use it anyways, most of the time I'm at school or doing homework.

I was impressed with newcomer James Johnson, he will indeed be good for the Raptors.

Edit:
Blazers loses to the Lakers in O/T. Kobe looked great. Kobe's been cold too long!

You know why right? Patty Mills didn't even play! I TOLD you! You need Millsy to play to win!:P

Howdy! Two BIG games tonight on NBA on TNT:

* Heat at Bulls
* Celtics at Nuggets

These are going to be big tests for both Chicago and Denver in their respective games. Enjoy your NBA hoops tonight!

This just in...

Houston Rockets trade the following:
* Shane Battier (to Memphis)
* Ish. Smith (to Memphis)
* Aaron Brooks (to Phoenix)

...and in return:
* Hasheem Thabeet (from Memphis)
* Goran Dragic (from Phoenix)
* four 1st Round draft picks

Perhaps Thabeet will be that big man inside that the Rockets need. The biggest loss was Aaron Brooks. The Rockets are 28-31 and 11th in the Western Conference. Maybe this prepares the Rockets for the future or for any outside playoff hopes. By the way, I think Aaron Brooks leaving when he got frustrated in one game perhaps led to him getting traded.

I've never followed Thabeet, but that's the word around the league.

Somebody from Portland(team or media, can't remember) talk to Damon Stoudamire about him, and I guess Damon says Thabeet is lazy, doesn't want to work on his game, etc. If Houston was counting on him, 1) bad scouting 2) they've been had

I hope Houston knew what they were doing, but it's true that many bad trades take place when GM's are under numerous pressure(finance, owners, fans, etc.), and trade deadline just might be the worst kind of pressure there is. :lol:

I like Dragic though. I wish we had him.

Portland supposedly acquired Gerald Wallace, in exchange for Joel Przybilla(expiring contract), Dante Cunningham, two future 1st round picks.

I don't mind giving up Przybilla and Cunningham? But two future 1st round picks could come back & hinder our progress couple years down the line. It's like taking out a good size loan, and I don't know if Gerald Wallace is worth it. Good player now, but I think he's 28? Maybe he has two more really good years left.

I thought we were rebuilding for the future, so I'm not sure about this move. This move suggests that we want to be good(not great) now.

DRAjic................spurs killer. If he can control his temper he'll be a great asset to the Rockets. Now FOUR 1st rounders will come in handy later. It will be interesting next year (if there's basketball) what happens the new draft class. IMO the NBA needs to raise the age limit or restrict the entrance into the NBA to Juniors and above. That will improve the following draft classes and improve the NCAA caliber players as well.

I have mixed feelings on that one. Yes, it will help both basketball, but they already prohibit jumping straight out of high school. With the rookie pay scale in place, I feel that they have already done more than enough on this issue. Players are entitled to some rights to get the job, earn the checks.

Is the draftee ready for pro ball? He may, or may not be. His upside might make it worthwhile, but nobody is twisting your arm to draft him, should he be too green.

I'm looking forward to the Raptors next season now. They don't look too flash at the moment, but with some of the players playing the way they are, and developing the way they are, plus a well positioned draft pick at the end of this year, I think Raptors are in good stead. Now we've got healthy players again, and James Johnson thrown in, we could actually start doing alright now, too bad the season is already dead.

Edit: So the Bulls beat Miami on a Bulls back to back where they lost to Toronto the night before.:sly:

Edit 2: There were a lot of key trades today, I recommend heading to NBA.com to check them all out. Celtics got rid of Nate Robinson and Kendrick Perkins. Thunder acquired quite a few players, I'd be looking out for them to improve.

So much feedback on this whole deal... anyhow, I don't know if my Rockets basically waved the white flag on this season or if we can actually make something out of this season with less than 25 games left in the season. The last kind of big guy we had was that walking foul Joey Dorsey. We gave up on him and let him go. I'm just hoping we can make something with Hasheem Thabeet.

We haven't had too many championship-winning teams in most pro sports here in Houston. I think us Rockets fans are long overdue for a championship. We're long removed from the days of Hakeem and Horry and Elie and players like that. We haven't been great lately since the T-Mac and Yao connection worked well. I just... there hasn't been serious winning basketball here in Houston since the WNBA's Comets had their four championships here. Sure want the Rockets to really go back to being a contender.

I just think most people look at the Rockets like we're not that good. If anything, we're like the Texans- Middle of the Road, but not sorry. There's a difference. Middle of the road means you have great talent, but not enough to generate a great win-loss record. Sorry just means... be ashamed of yourself if you lose to a pathetic team (like the Lakers losing to the Cavaliers). We've just had a tough schedule and didn't play like we could take on this schedule. Wins at Boston still remain as a lovely win I'll really remember for this season.

There's the Thunder at Magic game on tonight as well as a handful of games this weekend (including a back-to-back for my Rockets starting tomorrow night).

I'm sick of Jerry Bayless now, every time he's on the court he just bleeds points to the other team over and over. They shoukd trade him for Patrick Mills. Every time Calderon was on court against Phoenix they made a run, every time Bayless was on the lead blew out to over 20.:irked:

I know it's a little off topic - but the OKC/Magic game reminds me, does anyone play Streak for the Cash on ESPN? I would be happy to set up a group for GTPlanet peeps!

I liked Bayless when he was here, but yeah, he had many gaping holes in his game. Patty's the same way in my view, but at least, he's not a shooting guard trapped in point guard's body. :P

P.S. Hakeem Olajuwon just might be the best center I have ever seen play. 👍👍 Dream Shake baby, Dream Shake!

Edit:

One of the best, and sexiest move, ever. Just watching it makes me travel twice, and I don't even have the ball. :lol:

Mills is heaps better than Bayless.

Nets at Rockets tonight. My boys will meet up with Deron Williams' new team. This will be first impressions for the new Rockets. And once again- I just don't know what to expect with this new lineup for the Rockets. Maybe we've given up on the 2010-2011 season, or maybe we're building for the future... all I know is, this season is still VERY far from over. This is part of a back-to-back for my boys.

Enjoy the NBA action this weekend!

Rockets put their new-look unit on the hardwood and... win in a blowout (15+ pts. = blowout). H-Town got it done 123-108 over the Nets. Kevin Martin was 9-15 hanging 30 on the Nets. Chase Budinger was a beast all game long. As for Dragic, he did pretty good accounting for about six points. It's still just one game, and we were playing the Nets. Up next... at the Hornets tomorrow night with former Rocket, Carl Landry, paired up with CP3. Hope my boys can put up an award-winning performance in New Orleans tomorrow night on Oscar night...

Some other results (home team in CAPITAL LETTERS):
* DETROIT defeats Utah 120-116.
* Dallas defeats WASHINGTON 105-99.
* Sacramento gets owned 120-92 at MEMPHIS.
* Chicago takes down MILWAUKEE 83-75.

So other than his shooting/scoring, what does Mills have that's "gaping"?
Where do you even begin? :lol:

Keep in mind, you might be judging him from the international basketball point of view. In the NBA, it's not what's wrong with Patty's game, it's what few things he actually does from maybe 'OK' to maybe 'well'?.

I might sound like I'm being tough on him, but like I said, Bayless is very similar. Another very, very incomplete player.

Again, nearly every aspect of his game are full of holes. In Portland, our view on the back up point guard position is that we don't have legit second unit point guard. Rumor is, Blazers tried to bring in TJ Ford. A very long shot, and I'd be surprised if the front office actually pulled that one off.

Lakers at Thunder on right now. OKC ahead 38-24 with about 9:15 left in the second quarter. I'd be REALLY happy if my Rockets can beat the Hornets in their house tonight...

Gahh, the hornets lost to the rockets by two. Wish I could've watched the game though.

Now were are going to verse the raptors on home soil, one game I'll definitely watch. 👍

Blazers getting hammered by the Hawks right now. Both in score, and physically. Not that it would help by much, but it is pretty clear that NBA refs were paid off to favor the Hawks tonight, too. It's one of those games where the contrast of calls on each end is so ridiculous, you don't know whether to laugh or cry. They just called Hawks travel a Blazer foul. :lol:

The Rockets pulled one out to win 91-87 against the tough New Orleans Hornets. Wouldn't you know it- we got ANOTHER back-to-back coming up. At the Trail Blazers Tuesday night followed by at the Clippers the night after. Just want the Rockets to keep firing on all cylinders. The Rockets are now 30-31 on the season and 5th in the Southwest Division. We still need a hell of a lot of help to have any such playoff hopes.

Congratulations to teams like the Thunder, Knicks, Spurs, Suns, Timberwolves, and teams like that.

This Portland/LAC back-to-back is positive for the Rockets as we won 103-87 at the Trail Blazers. Sorry, a6m5. Sorry we had to do this to your boys.

A win at the Clippers could put us above the .500 mark for the first time this season. Or... we can blow it and be right back to where were were for some... 60-something games.

No reason to apologize, my team sucks. :lol: They did overachieve when half the team were out with injuries, but as soon as we got Roy & Camby back, Gerald Wallace joined in through the trade, the Blazers are back to NBA Lottery basketball again.

Not panicking though. We are exactly where we've been the entire season. We will do damage, if we heat up at the right time(April~May), but most likely, another uneventful season & post season. Utah is smart. Blazers & Rockets should learn a bit from them, instead of playing some meaningless basketball. ;)
