The Nets beat the Raptors by sheer fluke in both games if you ask me. Especially game 2, where in overtime 1 the Nets were down by 3 with 11sec to go, and they just flung up a 3 from like 2m behind the 3pt line, and contested, and it went in. Raptors have lost a few games by flukey performances from their opponents in the last week, and I think they're playing much better now with James Johnson around, he's a real boost, especially on defence. Sooner or later Toronto will start winning some games, maybe next season, with a few super smart trades (getting rid of Bayless would help :P, OK, he hasn't been too bad just lately, but not good either). I'm not sure how I feel I about Kleiza now, he's spent most of the season out with injury, and Weems and J.Johnson are both pretty good and seem to fit in with the team pretty well.

Mike Bibby cursed the Kings and now he brought it to Miami. Mike Bibby got his knee replacements done at Ikea.

Let Chicago jump in here for a second. Mike Bibby was the Kings when they were in the playoffs against the Lakers; Did you think it was Vlade? I can't count the amount of clutch jump shots that guy hit.

But I'm wondering what everyone thinks about the Bulls? Unfortunatley I can't watch my home town team play as much as I want to. I tune in and see D. Rose embarass big men in the paint. Boozer hit jumpers from 18. And Luol Deng have his way with teams. How real are the Bulls? It's hard for me to gauge being from Chicago; Championship 2011???

Chicago is very good, but I still feel like they are either just a tad bit green, or they are one more piece away? But they do have one of the best rosters in the East, and when you consider their age, their Championship window must be as wide open as anybody's. 👍

On Bibby, while he was definitely one of the major pieces during the King's run, it was widely considered Chris Webber's team. Still, it was team effort with that team though. Didn't hurt that Adelman's one of the best NBA coaches of our time.

I believe Divac was to blame for the Sacramento curse, not Bibby. Also, see Tim Donaghy's book, he claims the NBA/refs won that series for LA.

Miami hosted Chicago today and just lost 87-86. If you can believe it, the Bulls have swept the Heat this season. I've been knocking the Heat for not being able to take down these competitive teams, but I have NEVER knocked their talent. It's more about momentum to me. Money time is Playoffs time, but you just got to keep plugging away to close out the regular season. Set yourself up strong for a strong postseason run. Losing games like the Heat have done against great teams (especially recently) this season ISN'T going to help.

Right now, it's the Lakers at the Spurs. This is either a Western Semifinal or Western Final preview for all I'm concerned.

[UPDATE] I saw an interesting statistic during the Lakers at Spurs Halftime Show. Check this out. The Heat are 1-18 this season in games decided by three points or fewer with 10 seconds to go in the game. What team has won the most games down by three or less with 10 seconds left in the game? That team is 2-18 in games decided by three points or less with ten seconds left in the game. That team is called... the Houston Rockets.

The Lakers at Spurs game is 65-37 at the half. FishForRent must be looking for things to break, especially if the Lakers complete this blowout.

I know. That was pretty much a national headline for the NBA.

I've seen games which were so blatantly, convincingly, undoubtedly called one way. Like they couldn't have called it more one way, had they tried. You haven't been around these "NBA" threads, so you don't know about my opinion on the NBA. I don't consider NBA a legit professional league. In my eyes, they are pro sports league with hint of professional wrestling.

Let's say that they don't favor any teams. *chuckle* They still interpret, or bend the rules to the point the playing field is no longer even. Buzzer beating plays, they tend not to call fouls. There can be three, four fouls in some buzzer beating layups. Majority of time, on a game deciding one's, they will swallow the whistle. They don't want to decide the game, some say. I say they just did. Rules can change from one minute to the next. Don't get me started on the "benefit of the doubt" calls. That screams favoritism. Rules must apply evenly in sports. But this is NBA.

And... it's official. The Spurs' 22-game home winning streak is mercifully over in a Lakers blowout. Lakers win 99-83 in San Antonio. Black and silver couldn't beat the purple and gold, at least on this day. Sorry, FishForRent...

Woah..................apparently we shot our limit Friday night. Damn. I think we ended up shooting something like 0% from the field today......maybe a little better than that.

Crap. That sucked. 👎 Didn't help that LA was lights out in the first half. We'll see 'em again. Frickin latkers.

It feels good to tease my friend, who is a die hard Heat fan. Especially now that they lost to the Bulls for the third straight time. :)

Go Bulls!

I think so, man!
It feels good to tease my friend, who is a die hard Heat fan.
Same here. He's from the area, so while you can't really blame him for being a Heat fan, that doesn't stop me from taking a few cheap shot here & there.

That was a crazy 3 AM oh my goodness. First we saw VC hitting levelling 3 to give them OT, & James Harden's and-one fastbreak(which is a miscall really), then Thabo's foul, VC missed 2 free throws...and then I switched tunnel and

Zach Randolph with this wild rainbow fadeaway! Dirk's one on one on Shane Battier was already good enough to take the win, but that's for the ordinary days! I think no team's wanna face this Grizzles team this offseason; Lakers lost to them in Staples centre by a 19-point margin(though they don't look like they will do that again judging from their performance after all-stars), Mavs got swept (or nearly but for a good reason), Spurs closely contended games.. They have considerable depth, any of their bench might jump out of nowhere like Darrel Arthur did in the 4th quarter just now. The returning of Shane Battier's gonna bring up the chemistry & fill up the gap left by Rudy Gay's injury. Awfully deep depth this team has.

Mike Bibby + Spanish jerseys = ****.

edit: The Bulls will never win another championship as long as Tony Kucoc is not on the team.

edit 2: Oh, and ESPN hates Miami teams SO MUCH. Those guys are such a bunch of New Yawker florida-haters.

ESPN basically dislikes any team that isn't a major team or some big-market city. I need not have to mention seeing the Texans get beat on plays in the NFL or have to hear on and on again about Phi Slamma Jamma get beat by North Carolina State. Almost like ESPN's resumé requires you to have at least 0.01% dislike of Houston. That's why most people call ESPN as the "Eastcoast Sports and Propaganda Network." And it's probably a good thing there's no ESPN Houston though there is an ESPN Dallas.

It was still sad to see Miami lose a close one, and even more so to see the Lakers mop the floor with San Antonio. Congratulations to all other winners from Sunday's games.

I'd like to personnaly thank Zack Randolf for that moonshot fade-away to seal the loss for Dallas last night. Twas awesome! Makes the Spurs beatdown less costly in the standings.
e-cookie for you ZR. 👍

The Rockets are back to where they've been highest- at .500. We're going back to work tonight at the Kings followed by a game at the Suns. Can we FINALLY get to a winning record, or will we have to be content with mediocrity once again? Rockets need something to REALLY feel good about since most of this season has already been a train wreck. Maybe this is their game. Then again, maybe this is just another game where we somehow fall on our faces (again). JUST WIN, BABY!

Enjoy NBA 'ball tonight!

PRAISE THE LORD!!! We're finally above .500 for the first time this season! Rockets rout the lowly Kings 123-101. Even better news is that Rick Adelman is tied with Dick Motta (his mentor) for 10th all-time in coaching wins. Congratulations to Rick Adelman. To BEAT Dick Motta's record, his boys will need to take down the Phoenix Suns in the PHX tomorrow night. This stretch of games is crucial for the Rocekts now- tomorrow night at the Suns, Saturday night vs. the Spurs (we're going to lose that one unless we get lucky), and then next Monday night at home against the Suns. Tie-breaker is up for grabs in the Rockets/Suns series in these next two games.

Hope your teams did well as well. I saw the Clippers take down the Bobcats earlier tonight on NBA TV.

Congrats. I'm all for victories against CA teams not named the Clippers! We're on our longest winning streak of the season, I believe. Still lurking at the bottom of the conference, but the way I see it, this year is the "get used to each other" year. Next season and beyond are when the LA takeover really gets underway! :D

So it sounds like the Heat are having a real team meltdown (started before Bibby, Omnis;)). It's a damn shame really.
I see Mills had one of those more "inconsistent" nights a6m5 was talking about.......normally he's the most consistent megastar in the NBA. Oh well, he'll keep getting better.

We in California like to call this the "East Coast Bias." The only time LA gets any love is if something extraordinary happens, like Manny Ramirez coming to LA for free (in that trade), Blake Griffin beasting in his rookie season, or Kobe vs LeBron / Lakers vs Celtics. TWWL is it Bristol, CT which is Boston-fan territory.

Tonight's NBA Fan Night game is the Trail Blazers at the Miami Heat. Tony Kornheiser made a joke on PTI saying that if the Heat don't beat the Blazers, they should re-name the Miami Heat to the " Miami Weep" after all the crying talk about the Heat after that loss to the Bulls the other day.

Rick Adelman has a chance to be 10th all-time in coaching wins. Tall order though- at the Suns. Crucial tie-breaker is on the line. The Rockets NEED these wins against the Suns both tonight and Monday next week to better their playoff hopes.

My prediction for tonight: Heat will either blow the Blazers a new one out of the water(think by 20~30 points), or they will lose. Oh yeah, very scientific.

Any players can & will have bad games, here & there. But if you try to find consistencies in such green player(not named Greg Oden, Blake Griffin, etc.), you will go crazy.

Edit: What is up with the Princess Whine? LeBron should really put his head in the game, not crying about calls & non-calls. Yes, they missed some calls. Does not amount to the calls they miss on you.

My Rockets are ahead 50-48 after one half in Phoenix. Pietrus picked up two dumb Technical Fouls to get himself ejected, including touching an official.

Portland isn't doing my Rockets any favors because they just won 105-96 at the Heat. Heat have now lost four or five straight, and get this- this is (I believe) their fourth-straight home loss to the Trail Blazers. The people on NBA TV are saying that the Heat should come out on Thursday night and play like they're going to run the Lakers out of South Beach. It's going to be a tough ticket for the Heat. On a positive note, D-Wade and LeBron combined for 69 points. Both players got 30+ points. I think D-Wade got 38 while LBJ got 31. There still wasn't enough mustard for the Heat to take down the Blazers. For a play on words- the Blazers burned the Heat tonight.

Congratulations to all other winners so far as of this post.

X-Factor was Gerald Wallace from our perspective in this game. Heat defense really lacked tonight, but Blazers passing did make it tough for them on some possessions, and Blazers defense wasn't great either. Wade was back to top form though. He can get very scary sometimes.

DAMN IT TO F:censored:ING HELL!!! Rockets just have mental lapses and failed 113-110 at the Suns! Back-to-back, my ass. This was pathetic for two reasons- a goaltend that SHOULDN'T have been called in the first place, a stupid ass foul called on Kevin Martin that wasn't even a foul on K-Mart, and the Rockets playing like my Texans when they have a chance to win a game and fall short. Poor officiating and really a terrible shame. If we make it to the playoffs, I'm happy. If we don't make it, we don't deserve playoffs after a bulls:censored: performance like tonight in Phoenix.

We're a lock to lose to the Spurs at home on Saturday night, so I won't even bother venting if and when we lose that game and have our vacation started early. Well, maybe...
