Well, he's OUR K-Mart. On a positive aside from my rant, Kyle Lowry played a great game. Found out my Rockets now have this six game home stand. We have a good home crowd, but not good enough to be anything intimidating. Maybe all the years of not getting past the second round of the playoffs and not doing much in the playoffs since the championship years has given Rockets fans not much to cheer about. Hence, not much care in the world for having a decent home crowd. Our Red Rowdies surely bring the energy Houston home games need!

Sorry if I offended you using the "K-Mart" reference to refer to KEVIN Martin. He's our K-Mart with no disrespect to Kenyon Martin. That's what we call him down here.

[UPDATE] I forgot to mention- Luis Scola didn't play in this game because he had a leg injury from the game at Sacramento on Monday night.

Not offended, and I am aware of Kevin Martin's nic being K-Mart.

I hate Kenyon Martin(hate), as his physical play can be downright idiotic. Kevin Martin, I adore. He is a true student of the game. I love guys like him, Durant, etc., as I used to have similar approach in the NBA(Neighborhood Basketball A@#!%*$).

Having said that though, I don't know who came up with this copy of the nickname, but don't you guys agree that ripping off established nickname is just plain wrong? If the original guy's actually retired or something, but he's still playing!

Invest in masonry, folks. Miami has a new brick factory.

My brother blames it all on Bosh and Spoelstra, and to be honest, Heat started losing when Bosh stopped playing well, it very well could be blamed on him- but there are more flavours to this losing ice-cream than that.

I'm getting sick and tired of ESPN riding on Miami's 🤬 all day as of late.

Yeah they got problems, but they'll figure it out. I want to hear more about the Lakers actually (Are they truly revived?).

Really, ESPN managed to make the Miami Heat into a drama filled reality show.

The Lakers have won 8 straight, what do you think?;)

I think the mindset people make is that the Big Three of the Heat should be able to win it all like it's nothing. If you know Greek Mythology, you may have heard of the three-headed hound known as Cerberus. Well... LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh make up that Cerberus. This three-headed hound for the Heat obviously gets told often to go back to its doghouse or sit in the corner, especially lately. Just the notion of how this Heat team should easily be able to win it all or put up a strong fight in the postseason is why we're even remotely caring about them. Lost in all of this is the fact that the Lakers have won back-to-back titles with a possibility of going for a three-peat. As much as I despise the Lakers, that story is really paling in comparison to the Miami Heat being such camera fodder.

A best-case scenario for most people would be a Lakers/Heat NBA Finals. If the 2010-2011 Heat are for real, they win the East and play the Lakers for a championship. LeBron and Bosh would have a chance to get their first championship while D-Wade could go for his second. Same goes with the Lakers out West (unless San Antonio or somebody thinks otherwise). Heat host the Lakers tomorrow night. The Heat need to find a way to bounce back.

Best of luck to all teams playing tonight.

Move the ball, get a man or two open, make a shot. Not a rocket surgery. But last night, it sure looked like it was to Miami Heat.

Yes, Wade, you are unstoppable, and you want to take initiative, I get it. But come on, you are not in Junior High anymore.....

I don't want to take too much credit away from the Blazers though. My local fishwrapper website headline brought this to my attention, but Blazers did close that game. I think the Coach McMillan signing that extension might have helped? Blazer players looked like they were actually paying attention to their coach, and they did execute their offense very well down the stretch. 👍

So the Spurs clinch a playoff spot tonight. 111-104 against the Pistons. Are they the first to clinch? Tonight was (another) one of those nights that the shots just fall. They open up in the first half shooting 80%! from the field. Best half, shooting wise in the league this year. End up shooting 64% for the game. Good way to erase the pityfull effort against the Lakers on Sunday. Sharing the ball, picking good shots, not much one-on-one. Wished we'd have had more effort on the boards though. In a night where Boston loses and Dallas loses we push our lead in the West and the League for the best record. (Dallas loses against the Hornets w/o Chris Paul?! What's that say about Dallas or Chris Paul??) Next up the Kings on Friday night.

John, we have ya'll on a back-to-back, so you never know how it'll go.

edit: Meh, apparently a few teams clinched playoff spots tonight.

Raptors only just lost out to the Jazz on the dying seconds, for some reason Bargnani didn't play, but the good news is Reggie Evans, the rebounding machine, is back. First game back after so many gone, and he pulls down 11 boards straight up.:D

My Clippers beat the Celtics in Boston without Eric Gordon... I'm feeling pretty good about next season!

NBA on TNT tonight:

* Lakers at Heat
* Knicks at Mavericks

It may be a bad omen for the Mavs as the DAL coach called the Mavs soft. If Dallas took it to heart, then the boys from NYC are going to get a Texas-size butt whooping. Lakers on a road winning streak; Heat on a home losing streak. Something has to give tonight!

Enjoy some NBA 'ball tonight! The only non-TNT game is Nuggets at Suns.

Just wrapped up in the MIA- 94-88 Heat... WIN over the Lakers! Congrats to the Heat on tonight's victory.

Ahhhh......you gotta love the NBA (officials)! No love for the latkers, but jeezz they got robbed! Heat got over, but man.......LA has something to chomp about.

Oh and Omnis........ermmm.....sure Bibs is a horse, but man Bosh is soooooo annoyingly uneverything. Durant has him pegged, 'fake toughguy'; thanks anyway. Spurs move up without playing. win/win.

Now for the Knicks to cheese on the Mavs. That would make the night.

I love Durant slapping Heat in the face. Twice. One was the infamous "fake tough guy" comment regarding Bosh. Also when he turned down LeBron on a party invite, just night before a preseason game. KD's the true baller, he's the true competitor. 👍

I'm sorry the Lakers lost. I didn't watch the game, but how did they do it, going against the huge Lakers frontline???? I'd like to know.......

Bosh isn't a fake toughguy, he's a conscientious objector!

I wasn't too big on him from the get go. If you recall the offseason with all the trade rumors and stuff, I was hating on the Bosh trade and saying that we should go for Lebron instead.

Oh my god, why does it still sound like you are bragging? I'm not envious, we still got Greg Oden. He'll be back next year(hopefully in a Blazer uni), you'll see! He's gonna own your third string center for sure. If you have one.

Bosh is a very good player when he's not playing like crap, although it's not physical strength that makes him good by any means.

My Rockets will get to enjoy a six game home stand. We are not as good of a home team as we are a road team. And who are coming to H-Town? Why... those boys from down Interstate 10- the San Antonio Spurs. The I-10 Rivalry is tonight at Toyota Center. As I feared earlier, we're probably going to lose this game against the fearsome Spurs. Maybe we pull through, or maybe even lose close. Rockets have to find some kind of magic and keep the losing to a minimum as the season winds down.

Enjoy some NBA ball, GTPlanet!

"my" (in quotes bc I live in SA but I'm a mavs fan) are good, really good but watch them lose to the rockets lol

Hell of a game! And as accurately predicted by me- Spurs won. Some bulls:censored: calls (go figure whenever the Rockets play the Spurs, Jazz, or Lakers), but the Rockets didn't back down. We lose fighting. Maybe that's the one thing I don't usually discuss whenever we lose games. So the worst NBA team in Texas fails again to San Antonio. This time, a 115-107 fail job. I first saw this game when we trailed 61-58. The fact that Utah and Memphis lost tonight is a mentality that carries to the Rockets like what the Texans go through- conference teams lose... then we lose in monkey-see-monkey-do fashion.

Home bitter-sweet home so far on this six-game home stand. Yay, us. Gloat away, FishforRent... black and silver wins again.

Raptors comfortably beat the Pacers the other day, Barbosa had a massive 29pts off the bench, and again I must stress how much I like what James Johnson is doing, that was a really good find for the Raptors. Reggie Evans had 16 rebounds after a long hiatus away in his 2nd game back, without taking a single shot attempt, he's a legend.
Plus I watched the Heat throw a smackdown on Memphis today, pretty good win.

Edit: Raptors lost to the Bobcats today unfortunately. Barbosa's and DeRozan's shooting % was a little down, but it was probably more to do with the 19 turnovers, despite Charlotte having 17. Bayless was actually solid this game, has been a few games in a row now- maybe he will develop into a nice Point Guard after all yet.

If you think the NBA Finals will be between the Spurs and Heat, tonight might be an NBA Finals preview. The black and silver will set it off in Miami tonight to take on the Heat. My Rockets will try to stop their losing ways when they host the Suns. Aaron Brooks returns to Houston... but in different colors. I'm hoping we don't don't concede defeat again like we've done the past two games...

Apparently there is no chance the NBA lets this game get close. Spurs aren't playing great but the Heat are getting most every call. Sour Grapes? Perhaps, but as the 3rd quarter closes, the Spurs have been to the line 6 times. The Heat? Try 25 times. At the end of the game no doubt the refs will close the gap so the box score doesn't scream fix. But this game is ridiculous. I'm surprised Pop is playing the starters the whole game. 4th quarter will be a route.

edit: The heat want to win by 30. Spurs pull the starters at the 4min mark and the heat don't. Class.

It was a 95-93 victory for the Rockets as we held serve against the Suns. Our next opponent is against Charlotte on Wednesday night. Great win for the Rockets. Our next five games: Charlotte (3/16), Boston (3/18), Utah (3/20 - PLEASE don't screw us, refs!), Golden State (3/23), and at Miami (3/27 - guaranteed loss unless we get lucky). We didn't gain any playoff ground because the Grizzlies pounded the Clippers 105-82 in Memphis.

Man... Heat slapped around the Spurs 110-80. The Big Three for Miami all accounted for 20+ points; Bosh had 30. The Heat have now won three in a row. Here are the next five games for the Heat: Oklahoma City (3/16), at Atlanta (3/18), Denver (3/19), at Detroit (3/23), and Philadelphia (3/25). Looks like a good break for the Heat bewteen Denver and at Detroit after playing against three powerful teams.

The Lakers held serve at home 97-84 to the Magic. Dwight Howard got a double-double: 25 points and 15 rebounds.

Ever since Pat Riley went and had a "stern talking" to Spoelstra, the Heat have been something else. Normally the refs BS the Heat FishforRent, and don't forget the Heat players are very good at drawing fouls.
There's an article on the NBA website, here, which talks of all the young relatives of NBA stars coming through the ranks. It's quite interesting, both of Jordan's sons are in there, Stockton's son, Tim Hardaway Jr., and one can only wonder if they'll be good enough to follow in their father's footsteps. Does the rookie draft only take players from this NCAA tournament?
