I haven't commented on the Dejean-Jones incident; but after noting those details, I do think differently about the whole incident. Any loss of life is still sad regardless of details

Again... Golden State or Cleveland and (optional) in how many games?

30 teams tried to prove they are the best, and 16 succeeded. Competitors became contenders, and only so few actually proven themselves. We are now down to two teams after everyone else failed in their quest to play for the O'Brien Trophy. Face it- my Houston Rockets failed (badly), the Dallas Mavericks failed, the Miami Heat failed, the Toronto Raptors failed... everyone has failed except two- the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tonight begins the NBA Finals. One team will win the Larry O'Brien Trophy; the other will have to wait until next season to have another chance at making the playoffs and advancing as far as possible.

Game 1 is tonight in Oakland, CA. Cavaliers at Warriors. Good luck to both teams tonight, and may the better team win the championship in this series.

Game 2 of the NBA Finals is tonight, and Golden State is ahead 1-0 over Cleveland. The Cleveland Cavaliers will try to even up the series tonight. The Warriors will try to win again to go up 2-0 and really put the pressure on Cleveland once this series shifts to Cleveland for Games 3 and 4.

Good luck to both teams tonight.

The Cavs got paddled and Love is on concussion watch, this is not looking good. Bogut had 5 blocks though.

Laughable at how physical the Warriors have been allowed to get all season long starting with moving screens to just flipping, kicking, & elbowing players without any punishment. Any time a player takes a hard hit in the head, the league almost immediately stops the game and watches the replay to judge if the play was a foul or not.

The Cavs are losing this series on their own awfulness, but this physical play from GS is disgusting to watch.

Yeah, the refs haven't called anything on Golden State. Still, they're probably going to sweep the Cavs. The series to watch was the Western finals.

Easily. I think this series would have much more interesting with OKC vs Cavs, a rematch of Durant vs James again.

The NBA Finals continue tonight with Game 3. This time, the series shifts to Cleveland. So the Golden State Warriors are going to get themselves some Midwestern hospitality served up by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Golden State leads the series 2-0, and Cleveland needs at least one win- even if just to save face. Best scenario for the Cavs is if they win both games and bring this to a possible six-game series. Or of course, the Cavs can concede (like my Rockets) and let Golden State run all over them.

Good luck to both teams tonight.

Cleveland might have a better chance if they switch to the lineup that won them games last year, grind it out on them

You might be right, Jahgee. Especially if you're down in a series, it's best you find something that works just to give yourself a chance. Got to have some kind of winning combination even if you're playing on house money.

What's up with all the blowouts for home teams these Playoffs? I think I saw a stat tonight showing there have been 19 25+ point differentials with the next highest being 11. How is a team with a road record of 34-7 is unable to keep up in another arena? :odd:

I don't know why Mozgov rode the pine the first two games. He's kind of important, and is a great option to take some heat off of Thompson and Lebron.

Is anybody jaded of ESPN's Steven A Smith opinion on every single matter in the NBA? Does that guy really thinks everybody is just waiting to hear what he has to say?

No wonder why they are losing so many subs. I know this many not be the right thread for my whining, but ESPN has become a joke with so many opinions from their own self-revered reporters.
I miss the good ol' days....

Indeed. I laughed at the irony of Thompson stating Mozgov's screen was a dirty play when illegal screens are practically a trademark of the Warriors now.
Let's not forget ESPN and Sportscenter's ridiculous obsessed addiction to Curry.
Add in TNT's social media pages who constantly nut-rode GS from the beginning. Thank god the actual cast of the show had varied opinions.

Smith's been a joke for years, even more so than Bayless by this point who really just trolls his show to piss off Smith. Smith is the same dude who basically acted like he was some sort of god in the league just because Durant responded that nobody in his circle even talks to Smith after the Smith said he had inside sources saying Kevin was done in OKC. Acting as if he could single handily end Kevin's career.

Coming up next on Sportscenter:

Curry, Curry, Smith on Curry, and Stephen Curry!
It was a good game but they do over hype Curry. I've noticed that whenever GS wins Sportcenter, ESPN, etc. are so quick to post that they won on Facebook. It's hilarious

Also, the constant bickering in the Facebook comments is priceless

When Nyquist won the Kentucky Derby, they quickly compared him to Curry for no reason

Wow.... He's a great and humble player, but I don't think he should've won MVP. Mostly because his team can still win without him, but that's just me :boggled:

If you ask me rebounding was the biggest turning point in the 2nd half today and Lebron can blame himself for it, his effort on the boards sometimes is pathetic. This is the NBA Finals, nobody will give it to you! You have to fight for every possession. Officiating today was also terrible btw.

Draymond Green suspended for Game 5 & all people can do online is blame LeBron for stepping over him. Dude should have been suspended games ago.

So it took them THIS long to suspend the guy?! Seriously?! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
Yep, only because he assessed the 1 too many flagrants. Otherwise, he would still be playing.

But, if the Warriors win, Donkey can not celebrate with them; he's not allowed in the arena.
According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, along with missing the game, Green is not allowed to be at the arena. The Warriors lead the Cavaliers 3-1 with a chance to win the championship on their home floor in Oakland, California, Monday night. That means, if the Warriors win, even without Green, he can't be there for the championship celebration.

Now Green could attend the game anyway, but it comes with a harsh punishment, according to Windhorst: He'll be docked a game check. For Green, that's a $140,000 fine.

About time. The guy is dirtier than dirt. TNT/ESPN commentators are quick to bash on Dellavedova calling him "a rugby player" whenever he shows aggressiveness. Granted, the guy is Australian and played Australian Football as a kid, but he's been a basketball player ever since and isn't dirtier than your average NBA player.

Golden State is up in this NBA Finals series 3-1. Tonight could be the final game of this season, unless Cleveland has the epic comeback of their lives to force Game 7 and win it all. Not many people worship LeBron James or anything. But I'll tell you what... if Cleveland somehow rallies from 3-1 and end up winning the NBA Championship, LeBron should IMMEDIATELY have a statue outside of Cleveland's basketball arena. Even the prospect of Charles Barkley paying respect to Golden State after he (and myself) doubt the Warriors would win the NBA Championship is worth a watch of tonight's game.

Enjoy tonight's game. And if the Warriors win, congratulations on back-to-back titles. They'd be the seventh(?) team in NBA history to win the NBA championship in back-to-back years against the same opponent.

What a good game tonight! I guess this is what happens when everyone talks crap about Lebron. But it felt like only Kyrie and Lebron showed up in Oakland and the rest of their team remained in Cleveland
