I'm praying my boy Pondexter splashes in a lot of 3's this year (if he ever plays)

Sorry mate. Pondexter and 2nd round pick got traded to the Bulls to clear some salary cap space for the Pels. Interesting to see what their move will be now to fill that roster spot.

Ugh, understand it from a cap space but now they're relying very heavily on the fact that someone signs with us.

No lie but Pellies aren't exactly an FA destination

A local person here in Houston named Tilman Fertitta has bought the Houston Rockets for a record $2.2B USD. The purchase is still pending by the NBA Board of Governors, but it's great local money is being spent and the team with a local owner. I am told this $2.2B USD sale is one of the most amount of money to buy an NBA team. Now if only my Rockets can finally win their third-ever NBA Championship...

Tony Allen used to be a solid defender for the Grizzlies. Kind of surprised they didn't retain him, although he is nearing his end. I think he'll still be a worthy piece to the Pelicans.

As long as he can replace any of Hill's defensive production then its a good signing.

Thank the lawd he can play 2 or 3

Do you think New Orleans could be a surprise team? Like, maybe a team that sneaks into the Playoffs as the 8th Seed in their Conference on the last day or nearing that day?

Hoping the Pelicans can sneak into 8th seed but the west is too strong.

Just praying we can keep Boogie if we don't make the playoffs this season.

I'm hearing Bogut is expected to sign with a new team in the coming week or two. They've been saying 4 teams are interested for ages now, I read today those 4 teams are Boston, Spurs, Bucks and Jazz. It's bad enough Baynes plays for Boston now, I hope Bogut doesn't go there as well. Bucks or Spurs would be good. I like the Jazz for Exum and Ingles, but I'd be surprised if they make the playoffs this year, probably not a good team for Bogut.

Hmm interesting choice of teams.

Surprised he's thinking about going back to the Bucks, was he traded or did he leave as an FA from Milwaukee?

I think the Spurs would be the best fit for him IMO, really not sure how many minutes he can play per night with his glass body.

Bogut is signing a one year deal with the Lakers, according to the interwebs.

Seems like a good fit for him actually.

Good fit from the locker room perspective.

Yeah I think reuniting with Luke Walton, was probably a big part of the reasoning as to why he went with the Lakers. Bogut might be able to recapture some of that form he had when he was with the Warriors? The big question is obviously can he stay healthy, because as you said, his body is made out of glass.

And does this mean that we get to call him Big Baller Bogut, now?
Surprised he didn't sign with a contender but he already has a ring IIRC?

Warriors 2015?

I guess for my Houston Rockets, it's more a case of, "if not now, then when?" We have what it takes to win a championship, but actually getting back to what many of us have missed from the mid-1990s has yet to surface. I also hate the stigma of Houston historically being a poor sports town. Like, you can't win in Houston. With a new owner and Chris Paul III and company for the Rockets, we are only improving our stock.

In case you are wondering when the first of the Preseason games starts, the NBA Preseason for 2017-2018 begins on September 30. So next Saturday (as of this post) is where we will get our first look at NBA teams this upcoming season. I wish all of your favorite team(s) the best of the luck this upcoming season.

The question is that who won the Isiah-Kyrie trade? Did Cleveland score a win in this trade or is it Boston?

For this season I'm putting my bet on Cleveland again since this time they pretty much have a good roster.

Oh and is it me or is Bron really heading for the Lakers after the 2017-2018 season?

IMO Cleveland won the trade because of the assets they got in return for Kyrie, even if IT doesn't play many games due to his hip, Crowder (on a team friendly contract) and that Nets pick (definitely will end up in lotto but can't remember what year) will give them a good rookie piece.

Really confused as to why Boston traded for a slightly better version of IT.

I didn't really understand the move, as far as I know the Lakers have two centres ahead of him on the depth chart, it doesn't sound like he'll be playing much.

Whose the second centre? All I remember is Lakers trading for Lopez.

I haven't been paying attention to what the Lakers have been doing, aside from drafting that Lonzo Ball guy.

Once Bron heads for the Lakers, they'll be back on the playoff contention. Lebron could really use a squad with younger players to build around IMO.

Is there really a chance he ends up with the Lakers?

I think he stays with the Cavs if this new GM keeps committing highway robbery on other teams

If it does according the rumors just like the one I posted, then this is gonna be interesting.

Off topic (still about NBA but instead it's about NBA 2K18), I finally got a copy and those all time teams are very stacked. I got a chance to use the all time Lakers and they're probably the most stacked all time team in 2K18. Only all time Celtics, Warriors, and Thunder come close.

THIS JUST IN...

I read on ESPN/ABC that the Knicks agreed to trade Carmelo Anthony to... the Oklahoma City Thunder. A few Thunder players will go to the Knicks, including E. Kanter.

Thoughts?
