The first-ever 60-point triple-double in NBA history was pulled off tonight. James Harden was one bonkers bloke having knocked down 60 points and added on 11 assists and 10 rebounds. He passed Calvin Murphy for the single-game scoring record in Houston Rockets history. We defeated the Orlando Magic 114-107 tonight. We're now 36-13 (or something like that) on the season.

Up next is a four-game road trip starting on Thursday: at San Antonio, at Cleveland, at Brooklyn, and at Miami.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday's games.

* TOR Raptors at WAS Wizards
* MIL Bucks at MIN Timberwolves
* HOU Rockets at SA Spurs (NBA on TNT)
* OKC Thunder at DEN Nuggets (NBA on TNT)

Enjoy tonight's games as well as all the other games for this month. Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

The NBA Trade Deadline is Thursday at 3:00 PM Eastern Time. I wonder who all will be buyers and sellers as this deadline approaches.

Good luck to all of your teams with tonight's games. My Houston Rockets are on a back-to-back starting tonight. We are at the Brooklyn Nets tonight followed by at the Miami Heat tomorrow night.

I must admit I love those Miami Vice style uniforms the Miami Heat wear. I usually loathe any brown-nosing of the '80s, but those are some very cool uniforms the Heat wear.

Only the Rockets and Warriors didn't make any trade moves. More like, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it." Next weekend is the All-Star Weekend.

Looks like the Jazz are finally figuring out how to play basketball after winning their 10th straight. They're not actually awful to watch right now either, which is nice.

Oh and LaVar Ball "threatening" the Lakers is funny. Anyone team that drafts any of the Balls are thinking straight. There's to much of a media circus surrounding them and really, are any of them any good?

None of them are good enough to even be playing in the US, is Lithuanian league ball any good?

Meanwhile in Minneapolis...

The Houston Rockets knocked down their 9th straight win to improve to 43-13 on the season. We won 126-108. A big part of the win was about 10 3-pointers drained in the 4th Quarter. Our final opponent before the All-Star Break is against the Sacramento Kings, who downed the Dallas Mavericks 114-109 in Dallas.

Congratulations to all other winners from Tuesday, including Paulie's Toronto Raptors winning at home over Omnis' Miami Heat.

Well, NBA fans... tonight is the NBA All-Star Game. This is all in good fun. So these players can get to enjoy themselves in All-Star action before getting back towards playing for a Championship.

Good luck to and congratulations to all All-Star participants this season.

When the NBA goes back to work tomorrow night, this is what the teams will contend with. I don't know how many games your team(s) have left, but I know my Rockets have about 25 more games left this season. So here is a Standing Update:

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE ---
ATLANTIC: Toronto (41-16), BOS (40-19), PHI (30-25), NY (23-36), BKN (19-40)
CENTRAL: Cleveland (34-27), IND (33-25), MIL (32-25), DET (28-29), CHI (20-37)
SOUTHEAST: Washington (33-24), MIA (30-28), CHA (24-33), ORL (18-39), ATL (18-41)
CURRENT EAST PLAYOFFS: TOR, BOS, CLE, WAS, IND, MIL, PHI, MIA

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE ---
PACIFIC: Golden State (44-14), LAC (30-26), LAL (23-34), SAC (18-39), PHX (18-41)
SOUTHWEST: Houston (44-13), SA (35-24), NO (31-26), MEM (18-38), DAL (18-40)
NORTHWEST: Minnesota (36-25), OKC (33-26), DEN and POR (32-26 each), UTA (30-28)
CURRENT WEST PLAYOFFS: HOU, GS, SA, MIN, OKC, DEN, POR, NO

At the moment, nobody has clinched anything. So there is still a lot of time for things to pant out before the playoffs start. Speaking of the playoffs, there could be a playoff change format in which it is just the top 16 overall records rather than an even top 8 of each Conference. So the top 16 teams could go against each other and be seeded by overall record instead of the higher percentile in both Conferences. Would you be open to this format? Some would fear this could mean one Conference may have an overwhelming majority over the other represented in the postseason. But feel free to chime in on this if this topic interests you.

Other than that, the NBA goes back to work tomorrow night. Enjoy the games and good luck to all of your favorite teams.

Beware the ides of March. Welcome to March, basketball fans! Here is a Standings update as we begin a new month of NBA basketball:

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE ---
ATLANTIC: Toronto (43-17), BOS (44-19), PHI (32-27), NY (24-38), BKN (20-42)
CENTRAL: Cleveland (36-24), IND (34-27), MIL (33-28), DET (29-32), CHI (20-41)
SOUTHEAST: Washington (36-26), MIA (32-29), CHA (28-34), ATL (19-43), ORL (18-43)
CURRENT EAST PLAYOFF SEEDING (1-8): TOR, BOS, CLE, WAS, IND, PHI, MIL, MIA

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE ---
PACIFIC: Golden State (48-14), LAC (32-27), LAL (26-34), PHX (19-44), SAC (18-43)
SOUTHWEST: Houston (47-13), SA (36-26), NO (35-26), DAL (19-43), MEM (18-42)
NORTHWEST: Minnesota (38-26), POR (35-26), OKC (36-27), DEN (33-28), UTA (31-30)
CURRENT WEST PLAYOFF SEEDING (1-8): HOU, GS, MIN, SA, POR, NO, OKC, LAC

Nobody, to my knowledge, has clinched anything at this point. We are, however, slowly setting up the postseason. Sixteen teams will have proven themselves worthy of playing for the O'Brien Trophy once the 82-game grind ends. So keep playing hard if your team still has postseason hope.

I saw last night's game with my Houston Rockets at the Los Angeles Clippers. The most ridiculous thing I saw was James Harden putting ankle breaker action on LAC's Wesley Johnson, staring down at him, then banking a 3-pointer. It was nuts! We ended up winning our 48th game of the season last night.

Other than that, enjoy tonight's four games. Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

The Houston Rockets extended their winning streak to 15 games last night, but they really had to earn it. Some poor shooting by HOU made the game closer than it really should have been. We won 123-120. Boston is NOT a sorry team, folks. They are Eastern Conference favorites for a big reason. Their performance last night shown why. They can very well represent the East in the NBA Finals should they advance to the Finals. This was a quick home game for Houston coming off of a three-game road trip. Now, we're on a four-game road trip after a quick stop home.

So how are your favorite teams doing?

The Houston Rockets won 110-99 in Milwaukee. I didn't know Milwaukee was playing their final season at the Bradley Center as they will go to a new arena next season. The winning streak for us is now 17. The Rockets complete this back-to-back that took them to Oklahoma City and Milwaukee. Next on this four-game road trip is a visit to the Toronto Raptors this Friday. We are now 51-13 on the season heading into Toronto.

Elsewhere, and speaking of Toronto...

...in an Overtime thriller, Toronto won 121-119 at the Detroit Pistons. Toronto is the first team to clinch a playoff berth this season. So Toronto is IN! Be proud, Paulie and other Raptors fans!

Congratulations to all other winners.

17, and no more. The Houston Rockets left the United States to meet the Toronto Raptors in Canada, and Toronto was connecting while Houston seemed mostly lost. Houston rallied from as much as 17 or so points (fitting), but the comeback hit several snags. Those who see Rockets/Raptors as an NBA Finals preview were pretty pleased to see a great game. Final score: 108-105, Toronto.

Well, it isn't about streaks. Back to work for the Rockets on Sunday at the Dallas Mavericks. Good job by Paulie's Raptors.

The regular season is nearing a conclusion. Heading into tonight's games, let's take a look at what teams are currently in the Playoffs. So who's IN!? Let's find out...

--- EASTERN CONFERENCE: CURRENT PLAYOFF TEAMS ---
Toronto
Boston
...EAST NO. 3...
...EAST NO. 4...
...EAST NO. 5...
...EAST NO. 6...
...EAST NO. 7...
...EAST NO. 8...

--- WESTERN CONFERENCE: CURRENT PLAYOFF TEAMS ---
Houston (clinched Southwest Division)
Golden State (clinched Pacific Division)
...WEST NO. 3...
...WEST NO. 4...
...WEST NO. 5...
...WEST NO. 6...
...WEST NO. 7...
...WEST NO. 8...

So as you can see, 12 slots still remain as to who will fill out the playoff contenders. Keep playing hard if your favorite team(s) still have postseason hope!

Good luck to all of your favorite teams.

Let's update that Playoff list, shall we? Teams "IN!" at this point...

! = clinched their division

* EASTERN CONFERENCE: Toronto, Boston, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Indiana
* WESTERN CONFERENCE: Golden State!, Houston!

So there are three more slots available in the East, and there are six slots remaining in the West. Still plenty of games to be played for that chance to play in the Playoffs. Some teams with less-than-stellar seasons are seeing their playoff status face elimination. Keep on playing hard to get there!

Rather than post a Standings Update, I'm just here to share who is in the Playoffs. So here are the current Playoff teams:

! = clinched division
!! = clinched home-court advantage

Who's IN! Eastern Conference:
* Toronto, Boston, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Indiana, Washington

Who's IN! Western Conference:
* Houston!!, Golden State!, Portland

There are two slots still available in the East, and there are five still available in the West. Time is running out on the season, so keep playing hard to make the postseason!

No games are on for tonight apparently. Hope your team(s) is/are doing well.

By about this time next Saturday, it will be Playoffs time. Unless your favorite team(s) locked up playoff berths, keep on playing to make the postseason!

Hi all, long time since I been on! What a phenomenal rookie season for Simmons, about as good as we could have possible hoped for. Same goes for the Raptors, a win tomorrow could mean 60 wins on the season. They way the league has been this year (teams facing injury and roster flux making it hard for them to find rhythm), I'm starting to wonder if they have a real chance at the title, even if they aren't favourites.

Yesterday was the end of the regular season of the 2017-2018 NBA season. Here is the final Standings Update...

The fun begins this Saturday. Congratulations to all 16 Playoff teams for making it this far. It will surely be a great time to see which team will be holding up the O'Brien Trophy at Playoffs' end. For those who didn't make it to the postseason, better luck next season.

Good luck to all playoff teams. Have you all any favorites to win it all? How do you see the Playoffs shaping out? Let's chat a bit in the meanwhile before the teams play some playoff basketball.

Today begins the NBA Playoffs for the 2017-2018 season. The quest begins to be the team to hoise up the O'Brien Trophy and be declared the NBA Champions. We all know what you do in the regular season pales in comparison to what you could do when you crack into the playoffs. Sixteen talented teams will clash, but only one can be champion. Who that champion will be depends on who can go above and beyond being great. Let the playoff madness commence.

Good luck to your favorite team(s) if in the postseason; better luck next season to those not in the Playoffs.

CONTENDER ELIMINATED! Who? The Portland Trail Blazers. New Orleans swept the Trail Blazers 4-0. So the Pelicans will get the winner of the Golden State vs. San Antonio series in the next round of the NBA Playoffs.

The Houston Rockets advanced to the Quarterfinals of the NBA Playoffs, and they will meet the winner of the UTA/OKC series. They took the series 4-1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The T-Wolves wouldn't go away, and they played hard. I felt the Rockets could have easily lost that series if they continued bricking shots.

The rest of the Quarterfinal matches are being filled out with teams advancing or being eliminated.

Some Quarterfinals maches are coming up starting today. A lot of matches are still being set as 16 becomes 8. Enjoy the quarterfinal matches!

You know your team stinks when someone renames your hometown team as something else. Case in point- Toronto becoming "LeBronto." That was the case when LeBron went beast on Toronto in Toronto in the CLE/TOR series.

NBA Playoffs still ongoing, in the Quarterfinal stage. Hope your favorite team(s) is/are still in it.
