I remember Underground had an Impreza Rs and Lancer Es instead of the Sti or Evo
I don't know about the original (except that it had the Lancer EX) but I distinctly rememeber underground 2 got the Evo VIII and the WRX STI

We might aswell have some ferraris and more porsches since EA has the licenses and i think that they clearly want to show them.

And we miss the R34 and R35 :(

Now that you mention it, Underground 1 did have the base mode Lancer and Impreza, but all cars in that game became equal once you fully tune them. UG2 had Evo VIII and WRX though.

Yeah I never noticed until a few years later haha

I know almost for certain if this game is going back to Underground, Most Wanted 2005, Carbon, etc., that there will be a Murcielago and/or a Carrera GT. It's almost inevitable considering they are exotics that have stuck in the franchise for so long.

I think there should be atleast a dozen more muscle/exotic cars, because we have a bunch of tuners, but a handful of exotics and muscle cars (which I'm sure definitely they'll add more variety to the list), otherwise, the list looks like a great selection so far.

Except the Murcielago and Carrera are really old now. They can easily be replaced by the Aventador and 918.

The suitability of those cars is questionable for a game like Need For Speed. Are there even any bodykits for the Porsche 918 Spyder?

I don't think there is, but the Aventador is more likely than the Murcielago, considering there are plenty of body kits and stuff for it IRL and it's already been in numerous NFS's.

The fact that they are really old is completely irrelevant. You can still have your new Aventador's and 918's, but you can still have your older exotics (take the Diablo SV for example).

The Murcielago has been in way more NFS games than the Aventador has (for example Carbon, which you could upgrade it and put wide body kits on it for days). And wide-body kits aren't all IRL kits. Some are EA (Speedhunters/Ghost) body kits, so I'm sure there'll be some for every car.

Riced 918's... Oh god...

As for the Aventador I can see why it would be in Need For Speed (with licensed bodykits from DMC, Liberty Walk and Novitec to name a few) but in my opinion it would be too 'Exotic' (using a Need For Speed term there) for the game.

Judging by a blog post about Customisation a while back on SpeedHunters, they would want to keep customisation authentic even if they are using fictional bodykits. Take the Mazda MX-5 ND as an example - Since it is a new car there are not many parts available for it right now but EA have imagined what a RocketBunny kit would look like on it:

So perhaps if there is an Aventador in the game it could receive fictional kits but don't expect it to look as ricey as the bodykits in Need For Speed Carbon (hopefully!).

That Miata looks great! Since they have created a fictional bodykit for it, that may mean it could be in .NFS..

I'm not saying that I want the widest or most ridiculous body kit on an Aventador, I was just saying that they would find a way to put a body kit on it, like the MX-5 you show here. I really hope the MX-5 and the body kit come in the game because that looks extraordinary.

I'm pretty sure we are going to see an Aventador,a 458 and an NSX in this game, unless EA says well have 60 cars and the last 10 will be (randomly) In game DLC a la Most Wanted 2012 the cars are right there and then once you approach them it was a trip to the PS store. This is Ghost tho, they do things differently.

That's because the STI and the Evolution weren't available in the United States at the time.

Wasn't the wrx launched in NA in 2001 and the Evo in 2003?
I find it amusing that they used those cars
The WRX was launched in 2001, but the WRX STI and the Evolution VIII weren't introduced into the U.S. until 2004.

Still should have used them or at least the wrx
Funny that a game that is based on illegal street racing would worry about whether the car was legally available
I would prefer the gc chassis wrxs to be featured anyway

That's why the Skyline wasn't in there.... oh wait, nevermind.
To be fair, the Skyline is a very popular car and people were importing them in limited numbers(can't say all of them were legal, but it happened). It would only be natural to include it.

The game has an obvious focus on more obtainable cars, with only a few newer higher-end cars being included. They probably felt the 2.5RS and the Lancer would fit this theme better.

Then we have odd-balls like the Peugeot 206, so their original market might not even be an issue now that I think about it.

Haha yeah I figured as much, but these two vehicles were well known to enthusiast as well. What about the Peugeot though? I can't recall those being sold here.

Whoops just read your other quote. I blame the Xbox One browser.
