I played 8 out of the 10 hours available for the trial and for me the game is miles better than Payback was. The only thing I don't like this time round is the soundtrack which is absolutely awful, earlier on I was blasting across a highway at high speeds which was exciting and thrilling but the music made it sound like I was sitting in Nando's.

There are also some very simple things that they could do to enhance the experience IMO.

- Let us skip the post race screens. They go on for a long long time just to award you some credits and show off your horrible dirty car.

- Add an option to photo mode to clean your car. The current option for disabling the damage is nice but what's the point when the car remains dirty?

- Add a way of painting turbo fans. I currently can't change mine from black.

- Add a better way of navigating the massive lists of clothing and wheels. Even if it's just assigning a button to move to the end of the list.

- Add a way of enabling you to zoom in on the livery editor. I swear the old games had this?

- Increase the zoom level on the tight Time Trial maps. They are just a mess of lines that overlap because they use the zoom level from standard race events.

Aren't you playing the trial version of this game? The full game will be released tomorrow correct?

Unfortunately I ended asking for a refund of the game, As much as I tried I could not get used to the way the car drifts on every curve if you let off and get back on the gas.

You can get rid of that by turning on the traction control in live tuning, it makes the car grips on every turn and could only slide by using the hand brake.

I decided to pre-order last minute. I am quickly getting bored with GRID, and Wreckfest, while amazing is not open world.

I pre order the game but I don’t see where my full game at, it still say my game a trail

edit nevermind it fixed itself

Unless anyone's got any objections to it, I took the time this morning to search for (yielding no relevant results at the time) and set up a GTP crew thingy on PS4. Take a guess as to what you need to search for. If it shouldn't be immediately obvious to me who you are, I'd like a hint. Just so it doesn't turn into the fustercluck the GTA equivalent has become.

Also I guess that means I need to make a thread for crew(s? I mean, unless there's at most 31 others wanting in, that'll be a necessity) things at some point. Yes, that may or may not mean events that involve being social with others. Terrifying, I know.

There is a huge money method regarding the crew. You know that crew time trials will unlock at lv10. Now if you make a personal crew you will compete only with your own ghost in those trials so you can milk those events practically forever. Once you farm enough money you should join a normal crew and farm rep for that FXX.

maybe I suck at this but after around 10 times it get harder and harder for me to milk my times to win against myself lol.

Just stop for a few seconds before the end and slow down if you are 200 yards in front. It's really simple to farm those events.

Holy shoot, the Exige S is NUTS when full-race-tuned and TCS On. Despite being only level 162, I was easily able to beat level 200+ races.
Only weak point is, of course, cop chases. What? You try pitting a 1,700lb roadster against a 4,000lb police car!

Started playing the game again as soon as it hit midnight. My first priority was to get the Diablo, and now I’m set for the rest of the campaign. ;)

The SV logo can also be removed if you prefer not to have it.

It's worth keeping in mind that the IGN scoring criteria is a mystery lost to time, but even with that adjusted for, an IGN-8 puts it at around a 6 or 7 semi-objectively, which.. yeah, that feels like the sort of score I'd assign it myself if I had to. Solid enough that I'd recommend it (and not feel bad about it) if asked, not extraordinary enough in any way that I'd consider it an absolute must-have. Just.. decent. Refreshingly so, but still.

I didn't get much play time this morning, but this is the first time in a long while (and certainly the very first time in the ultra-digital age) I'm excited to come home and sink time into the latest NFS game. There's a sentence I never expected to have to say.

So the soundtrack is pretty garbage

This, so much this. The rap is terrible and I just can't get into the whole Cuban club music that's every other song. In my opinion, the game missed a huge opportunity in not putting in at least some synthwave. The atmosphere is begging for it.

Other than the soundtrack, I'm not loving the police chases. The cops are far too aggressive, have this weird way of being able to see you no matter how hard you try and hide, and do way to much damage to your car. You also lose way to much money when you're busted as well. I got so annoyed by it I even put the game on easy for the difficulty setting. The races are now stupidly simple to win but the cops are still just as aggressive.

I do like the customization though since it's not just a bunch of stupid-looking parts. The performance parts are good as well and way better than those cards you got in Payback.

Oh and does anyone have a crew on the PC yet?

I had an idea/question. I was thinking that while it's nice that most, if not all cars can reach PR 399, if maybe there could/would be online events with various PR limits. Like one could be PR199, 299, or even 99. It'd give a potential incentive to swap to an engine with less power than the stock engine, and overall not feel like the only way to compete is just max everything out once those respective parts are unlocked.

A minor issue that I can see from footage is that you can apparently change downforce on the go, even if a car isn't able to do that in real life - or even if the car doesn't seem to have a rear wing at all, let alone one that's adjustable. It'd make sense on a car like the Ferrari FXXK, though.

Also, is there a way to save setups, and then swap between them for various events? I don't think I saw a method in the footage, but it also could be that I simply didn't notice.

At any rate, I'm still thinking of getting Heat. If KuruHS' (a noted NFS speedrunner, who'd know these games intimately) praise of it doesn't say anything, I don't know what does. From what I can observe, it does seem like the game deserves about an 83 or so, which is fine by me. I've played MW2005 and Carbon, too, and as much as I liked those a lot, I also think nostalgia does a lot of talking for them.

Just max out the free corvette you get just to see the difference from that to my 370z... and yeah playing with that is like playing on easy mode no thanks.
