Just got this game yesterday and it’s a HUGE improvement over Payback. Sounds, Graphics, Story, City, Weather... I like how you start off with a slower car too. Reminds me of the Underground days. The NoS reminds me of Underground 1 where it was a shot of NoS, then the cop chases reminds me of Most Wanted ‘05, Night races have a Underground 2 / Carbon influence to them & the day races remind me of a cross between the Pro Street / Undercover era.

It’s a nice touch, game feels quite polished compared to Payback. Thank the lord they removed the crappy speed cards!!

But I’m having a lot of fun with Heat so far. Best NFS game in a long time.

Yes, I finally beaten the story mode. It's really a great game, it feels like a blend of the Blackbox NFS games plus a hint of Forza Horizon in there (mainly how the daytime events are). Now for me to just try completing it, I intend to collect everything and eventually get to level 50.

Since yesterday, Alexander Biscayne (a member of TofuGarage) has clearly affirm multiple questions: “Will S14 be added to Heat?”
Perhaps this is speculated that EA has given him permission to post information about S14. Also, the past Under The Hood was often updated on Wednesday, so we might get information about the first DLC in a few days.

As I've found out. Everybody jokes about certain cars, like the Dodge Challenger, being heavy like a tank, but they aren't tank strong. I get busted almost any time I drive mine. The fragile RX-7 is more capable to turn on a dime & let the cops fly by a turn that I make. It's basically my go to for every mission & race.

Dodge Challenger is just an awful car in this game, it has bad acceleration and handling which makes it pretty much useless in anything it does. I've played over 30 hours and the only time I got busted was with that car, I haven't try engine swapping it but I doubt it will make it any better.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably get it for completion only. The best runners I've used are a durability spec regera and giullia. The Giullia isn't the fastest but turns on a dime with a decent weight behind it. Its a decent all rounder

I’m potentially interested in this game but I’m reluctant, since I heard about that “item sync” bug that removes your cars. You think it’ll get patched?

I don't know how well-known this is, but you know how the cops are terrible at following you over any ramp of any kind?

Turns out that if you go to the port you can use literally any ramp up onto the containers and just park there and you'll escape every time. Sometimes a Camaro will follow you up and then drive himself straight off again.

Then sneak to the safehouse across the street.

It is known tactic within the first week of the game, dropping into the waters when a lot of cops are around is another "cheat" to escaped, the game will respawned you after dropping into the waters with some damage but the cops that drove into the waters will be considered wrecked.

Also one thing to note: you only take damage entering the water when in pursuit; it's totally okay to go skinny dipping without the cops behind your back.

I'm currently in this right now, it's that there's some sort of issue with the game servers not syncing properly with your local one. I haven't been able to play online till this gets sorted out. Money and cars going missing are just a result of loading up old progress.

It's not a common issue, but it's the one the devs are really trying to sort out. I really hope that's soon.. just 100%'ed the game, and I really want to go cruise with my Pista around.

This game sure has such an easy platinum trophy to collect, got mine today. Anybody else who has the platinum trophy already?

They're also terrible at following you through jumps too. Like when I tried escaping from them through a jump off a cliff, they sort of crashed.

Here's one tip for the Eleven - Fifty-Six trophy, spam the cops, then when there's plenty of them, go to Downtown Palm City and drive through the river. You'll sustain shield damage every time you do this, but it'll instantly destroy any police vehicles chasing you as they crash through the river.

Is there a reason why it rains so much? feels like is every 2 minutes it starts to rain never giving you time to take photos in the dry :banghead:

Is the Pista really faster than the FXX K Evo? Because I'm having a blast driving that car and I find it hard to believe the Pista can top it.
Is the RSR the fastest car in the game?

Do you guys think that next gen systems will allow ea to add interior view or the no interior view is a design choice by them?

I just don't get why there isn't no interior view it cant be system limitation.

RSR seems to be the fastest car in game with the second fastest car is 5 seconds behind it. I think F40 is the fastest Ferrari in game.

I think it is budget limitation, the amount of work needed to do on each car will be massive and I don’t think EA gave them as much budget to work on.

EA’s expectation on NFS should be pretty low considering the crap happens on Payback and it still get a sequel while Dead Space 3 failed its sales goal and forced to make a bad Battlefield game then get shut down by EA.

The reason there is no interior view is simply budget and time.
One of the advantages of the current generation of NFS over rival titles is better customization than Forza, GT Sport and The Crew 2.
Of course, when NFS adds an interior view, players will want to customize the steering wheel, seat, and gauge.
But to do that, it is necessary to improve the interior of all cars, including existing ones, to a higher quality that can be customized.
And they will have to license aftermarket brands like Momo and Sparco and make dozens of parts.

This takes a lot of time and money. Although not as much as Forza, NFS is a series that releases new works on a regular schedule. And this time it had to be released in 2019, the 25th anniversary of NFS.
For these reasons, I think they haven't added an interior view to the game yet.

I don't think so i took all 3 out for a top speed all 3 with ultimate parts and everything max and the

Pista reached 234 mph - no nitrous used
Fxxk-evo 235 mph - no nitrous used
F40 232 mph - no nitrous used

overall the f40 had the slowest acceleration out of the 3

Thanks

From what I read, not the acceleration of each car but testing them in a lap. F40 seem to have a better cornering speed which helps make a faster lap.

I haven’t got all 3 of those cars yet but the straight line speed isn’t that important, my Diablo SV sure blew past most speed traps without needing a second attempt but it sure clocks a slower lap than a Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R.

Something i have to mention since im in level 19:

So basically the cops are taking away cars from innocent racers... so they can race them in day and/or night events and steal money away? WTF?

I think it's a clever way to make them proper bad guys. Your reaction is pretty much how I feel.

Also i stg that HAD to be THE M3 they are towing in the background during the cutscene when we catch them messing with an F50 right?

The cops are not using the impounded cars to race themselves, they are either chopping the cars up and selling them for parts, or just selling whole cars illegally

Yes, that was THE M3 and you will see more of it later on, also it was an F40, not an F50 in that mission

This is intentional.

Most jumps/ramps (at least the ones that go over a considerable gap) have an insta-kill trigger for cops. They're effectively infinite-use pursuit breakers.

Drift events at night is stupid. I'm pretty glad they never can be High Heat events.

In fact, drift events at day are also kinda stupid.. in terms of the payout. Just maybe give an incentive, since money is a lot easier to earn racing.

Add to the fact that there's no consolation prize. Reach the score limit, or you get a big fat ZERO.

I thought drift events are pretty easy and the payout isn't too bad, the goal is fairly easy to reach too with the right combination of parts.

If we're just talking about tech, I'd say it depends on how well the games are optimized. I have a PS4, but I think Forza Horizon 4 looks way better than Heat, and that came out a year ago. And it has cockpit view. But Forza is also built specifically for Xbox on a proprietary engine, while Need for Speed is multi-platform using an engine originally developed for Battlefield. I think Heat looks amazing on high-end PCs, but not so much on a base PS4. It doesn't look bad necessarily, but it's obvious when the game is making sacrifices for stability. It's not like Red Dead Redemption 2, where you feel like the game is really pushing the limits of what the console is capable of. I think EA wants to stake a lot of their franchises on the Frostbite engine (Mass Effect: Andromeda, anyone?), which happens to be just okay for racing games, but not great. I think Need for Speed could look a lot better and have cockpit view if it was on a proprietary engine, but EA wouldn't spend the money on that.

to be honest I don't see interior cam to be working with this game. Driving model is much more dynamic it is definitely more comfortable to use exterior cam with this. On the other hand it would be nice to have a choice.
