Need for Speed

The original "Most Wanted" car.

Where would you rank the M3 GTR in Fairhaven's "Most Wanted List"?

Release confirmed? :sly:

Not Race because those 3 will blow it away in terms of weight, acceleration & handling. Top speed would be comparable. It should be in Exotic maybe just maybe Sports.

Still want this in the game:

I knew that but it might be ported onto the PS3/Xbox (PC players can mod it in) but I think they might be focusing on a BMW pack since the last 2 posts had BMW in it.

All I care is the SpeedPoints that I earn online that doesn't randomly disappear after autolog disconnects me for some stupid reason.

The game looks wonderful on Wii U, I wish they could bring that modified night mode version to the other platforms too.

Wicken beat me to showing gameplay for the Wii U version but here's a commentary with Alex Ward explaining the features in the new version:

New features and details mentioned:

- Noticeable increase in visual quality (E.g. Road more detailed, lighting improved, draw distance tweaked), with PC-level graphics, textures and assets making it the best-looking version, due to the Wii U having more memory.

- It enables dual controls, with Wii-Mote, Pro Controller, Steering Wheel and other controllers supported as well as the GamePad.

- The player with the GamePad can change day and night, turn traffic on and off, disrupt cops, change cars and mods as well as respray their current car's paint and repair the car. He/she can also help them with drifting, look at the map and any collectables he has found or hasn't found and boot up any race.

- Normally, you would have to unlock Nitrous for every car but don't have to with 'Boost Use'.

- The GamePad player is in control of all the cars in single-player, whether the driver has found them or not.

- Night-time has been tweaked on Wii U, apparently 'the best looking version of night-time'. This was done to help with anyone if their TV isn't bright enough.

- A new sub-menu for Miiverse in EasyDrive has been added. As well as Autolog tracking your best times, you can also post them on Miiverse.

- When smashing through billboards, it will also appear with players' Mii characters.

Personally, I am quite jealous about these details. If only they made Co-Driver compatible with PS3 and PS Vita.

It's nice to see Criterion making full use of the Wii U's capabilities. They could have just done a straight port, but instead they've turned the Wii U version into the best version of the game 👍

This. This so much.

Interesting! I might consider joining!

I am about ready to quit this even though I want to gain more stuff, but with the random loss of Speedpoints on things. like I just lost 18k from a pursuit that it didn't register, and relogging didn't bring them back either.

+1

Damn it got boring quickly :indiff:

I think I played it for a week after I bought it and haven't even thought of it since. Quite glad I didn't pay full price for it, but it still wasn't worth what I did pay... It just felt much emptier than Burnout Paradise did, which is a shame.

They eventually come back randomly. I lost 200,000 points at times & it all came back.

Hey, we're all not kids anymore (some of us) & games don't hold their appeal like they use to.

I'm really jealous of the WiiU version. But since I personally haven't played the game in atleast two weeks now, it doesn't really bother me.

Well I got another question about Concours,
If you have the Speed Pack, would you have to do all those 24 races in exotics to get all the cars again or will you have all the cars just reset back to 0 miles and whatnot?

Yes, those cars as well as the original cars, milestones, mods and mileage are reset when you activate Concours.

Good thing, however, any unlocked licence plates are still there and you can Concours once, meaning you won't have to do it multiple times.

So in theory I shouldn't go into concours if I am trying to do something (as in get the ultimate fan plate)

Make sure when trying to get the ultimate fan plate you do not do the dlc cars before the reg. or it may buy out on you as it did me. I did the aventador j b4 the countach and when I finished all the plates an revived all it still said I was missing one even though I had them all.

Well, if you're almost done completing the ultimate fan plates or anything you're about to finish that you don't want to redo I'd say finish those first then go concours.

Luckily for me I reached level 68 after completing all of SP. I hardly unlocked any online milestones and plates when I finally went to MP.

If anybody is planning to get Concours, best thing to do would be finish off all milestones offline and do a couple of pursuits. It'll get you 5 mil XP and you can activate concours straight away before even unlocking anything online. You lose nothing and just play normally after that.

Well all I was going to do is get the plate, then take someone down then go into concours

Got a question for those who play online, what's your opinion about driving backwards to screw other players? I don't play this anymore, but when I did this was something I absolutely hated about playing in public lobbies.

Now I can kind of understand doing this in team races. Personally I go after the opposing team once they finish the race. As for regular races I never interfere once I finish.

For regular races I think it's pointless to do, unless you're aiming for the leader of the speedlist so you can slow them down and try to close the gap on the leaderboard.

For team races though I think it's an important part of the event. Taking down drivers on the opposing team who haven't finished yet not only provides your team with more SP, but it also slows them down hopefully allowing teammates to pass them and thus getting more SP for finishing higher.

Same here. I never drove backwards initially because clean racing is just so ingrained into my mindset (blame the GTP OLR :P). But I'm gunning for the 'finish 1st in 100 speedlists' milestone now so I'm doing it...reluctantly. I don't do anything in regular races like you too.

I rarely eliminate other people in speedtests as well, unless I got takendown before setting any score (one of the most rage-inducing moments in this game ). Because then the only way you'll salvage any score is by eliminations...

If there are good players in the room they will generally understand you're driving backwards for the score and not because you like being a troll. It's just the little kids that get annoyed and try to get revenge by taking you down during meetups...and fail

On another note, I've been having random freezes quite frequently online lately. All action on screen would just freeze and I have to restart my PS3. It's not because of concours, or any connection problems (which is excellent lately). It doesn't happen with other games, but I'm really scared of another YLOD incoming (I just replaced my fat with a slim middle of last year) :nervous: I checked my disc and it's clean. So I'm wondering if anyone else is having these problems?

Yes, me too! And every time my PS3 had to check for corrupted files :( but if yours is the same, then I don't think we have anything to worry about in terms of our consoles :)
