Did you watch the rest of the video?

The car could've been repaired after Carbon. We all thought the M3 was totalled when it broke down during the race against Razor (When he was #15 on the Blacklist) but amazingly it was still working after Razor repaired it and claimed it for his own.

Guys, please, it's NFS. If I can repair a 911 GT2 that I just crashed at 250mph, I'm sure the M3 GTR could be rebuilt after being sandwiched between a truck and a Corvette. :P

New version of Most Wanted is exactly what I've been waiting for ever since I finished the first one. And as you all have said, I'm still playing it from time to time just because it's so damn fun.

I honestly don't care whether the M3 GTR is back or not, I'd actually like to see if Criterion can create another modified car which becomes as legendary as M3 GTR. But not BMW this time, please.

Another thing which I loved in MW was the fact that it took quite long to finish it and the game didn't end too soon. Increase your bounty in the explorer mode and beat 15 Blacklist-drivers, what else could you wish from the plot?

The only thing I hated in MW was its fewness in the bodywork modifications. I mean, in Underground 1 & 2 you had dozens different bumpers, lights, sidemirrors etc, not just five bodykits. Carbon's autosculpt wasn't so cool as advertised either. Also, as detailed car sounds as Underground 2 had would fulfill my dreams, I just loved them.

Can't wait to see the trailer.

If this is good I'll buy it, stayed away from most new releases. But I wish criterion would focus on BURNOUT!!!

Exactly what I was thinking, it's been almost six years where they could work on it so it should be fine by now :) if the gameplay has a little Undercover in it (with more than Races and pursuits) maybe a mission could be a pay-back to Cross (who HAS to be in MW 2012) where you maybe steal his car and will give it back for nothing but the BMW?

I want a Need for Speed without boost. 8(
Every Arcade racer has a boosting system today, it gets boring.

Actually, in Hot Pursuit 2010 it made the game much better and increased the technical thinking required to win a serious race. If you don't think about when you're going to use nitrous or when you're going to save up, you won't beat a good driver. It creates a comeback factor and it's a simple to use for beginners or anyone who falls behind. It's only boring if you didn't manage your usage correctly. And if you're so good at the game, you can always challenge yourself by not using any.

I really hope Criterion doesn't 🤬 it up, although I doubt they will after how good Hot Pursuit 2010 was.

While HP3 was a good game, a lot of people didn't understand how to play the game.... there still are a ton of people who don't understand that braking will get your car into a drift which terribly disappoints me.

I'd rather prefer Criterion to work their own magic than re-hash Most Wanted.

I almost agree with this too because Criterion has a distinct driving mechanic that they have been using in Burnout as well as HP3. Although I've never played MW, I have played Underground, I reckon MW was like that, and I would also like MW2 to feel like this as well.

MW was nothing like Underground. In MW, the driving mechanics were rehashed for a more model that differentiates between the 3 Classes of Cars, Tuner, Muscle and Supercar/Exotic.. A Tuner Class car would generally have the best handling, Supercar/Exotics with the second best handling and Muscle with the worst. Also, car customisation was no longer a blockade needed to progress in MW. You coule ride a sleeper car if you wanted to, however the cops would be paying more attention to your car and Heat Level 5 was a thing you'd be seeing a lot of. The cool thing is by customising your car you turn down your cars heat in the process, again it isn't needed but if the cops were stressing you out that might be the way to go.

I like this. This was kept in The Run and I really appreciated the thought.

I haven't played The Run yet, but the last thing I want to see is a repeat of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. To be honest that game was quite a disappointment in my opinion.

I don't want to see its game mechanics in MW2, but HP3 is an exciting arcade game if you understood Burnout physics.

And I understood Burnout physics quite well which is why I picked up on it so quickly. But then I knew it was going to have Burnout physics because it was made by Criterion Games.

I'm not so excited. Why? Because Criterion is developing it. To me, Criterion shouldn't be making Need For Speeds because it makes them seem like Burnout games, with Stunts, Boost, and stupid crazy drifts. I want MW to be like the Original MW, not a Burnout Rehash. Burnout is good, just not when your trying to make a Need For Speed game.

So you weren't big on a fast-paced NFS?
Not when it was being developed by a company that is better off sticking to making Burnout games.

This, 'nuff said.

On second thought I will give Criterion a chance and see what they will do with it.

Umm, Criterion quite possibly made the best NFS ever since HP2 and will probably do the same with MW2. NFS was going downhill under Black Box's lead, Slightly Mad and Criterion came along and renovated NFS with arcade and simulation games, respectively NFS HP3 and NFS MW2 for the arcade side and Shift 1 and Shift 2 Unleashed for the simulation side. The only good NFS's for me have been HP2, MW1, Shift, Nitro, HP3 and Shift 2. Most of them are not made by Black Box as many NFS fanatics will say. It just goes to show if Criterion make this NFS good, EA will probably fire Black Box on the spot.

What you say is certainly true in some respects, darren. Some people simply don't like the HP3 "Burnout-style" physics. I want to see what Criterion do with it, of course. But after trying HP3 and not liking how it drove - I decided I would rather play HP2 over again. Which I promptly did. (Background: I've played all the early NFS's on PC (I, II, III, IV, Porsche Unleashed) and HP2 and MW...and also shamefully, Prostreet. Also tried Carbon, Underground 2, Shift).

Looks like they did a Cross between Burnout and HP
Don't know how many people like that idea but it will be interesting.

No timebreaker. No decals. No customisation. No destructible pieces.
This game is going to fail hard.

I agree... judging by that gameplay footage and trailer they ruined Most Wanted in my opinion.

I didn't catch the EA conference but judging by the reaction here it doesn't sound good, gosh and I thought Criterion could do no wrong!

The problem is dev's deviate so much from the original title that it becomes a totally different game! It might as well not be called MW then!

I'll be getting this game and once again playing it more thoroughly with a buddy learning all the neat little tricks, features and other things most people wouldn't realize.

Criterion have missed the point of Most Wanted. They've just made a free roam Hot Pursuit. It'll be a good game I'm sure, but it's not going to feel like Most Wanted unless they sneak customisation in there between now and October 30th.

Liked the gameplay footage overall but I totally missed those not being shown at E3 earlier. I sincerely hope it's not the case and isn't just Hot Pursuit City Edition. What has been said about customization?

It's not going to drive like Hot Pursuit though. The ways the car turned and drifted had nothing similar to it. While that mechanic was fun for fast-paced driving, it's not fitting for this game, nor does it appeal to it.

Guess it's a wait and see thing. Some may like it while others not so much. Hope there will be a demo of it.
