While the customization aspect of the game looks awesome, I still won't buy the game unless it'll be on a massive sale to get me even start thinking about buying it.

It would have been better to see that stuff in action instead of reading about it or looking at still screenshots. You would think they would at least show a couple seconds of footage of any new customization options, but we didn't even get that. There was nothing in the video that we didn't see already at E3.

Nice cars are confirmed:

Jaguar F-Type (0:55)
Chevrolet Corvette C7 (1:06)
Mercedes AMG GT (1:07)
BMW M2 (1:08)
Honda Civic 9. or 10. generation (1:09)

Yep, looks like a 9th-Gen Type R to me. 👍

EDIT: There is also a Mercedes-AMG A45 at 0:26.

Pulled from main site: "Once you’ve found a chassis you’ll see it in your garage, waiting for you to find the parts that make it complete. If you don’t have an open slot available you’ll be prompted to finish or cancel your existing project or acquire an additional garage."

Sounds like you will have to either find or buy enough garages to stock your cars. I think it adds a little bit of realism to the game, because you can't have unlimited garage space in the real world unless you're Jay Leno. But I don't know if this is truly better or not.... I don't really have an opinion on it, just thought it was interesting.

The hunting challenge to find derelicts sounds fun! I'm really anxious to know what the car list is for the derelict category. I'm sort of hoping they hold some of them back until release so it's a surprise.

No they don't, it's already to be found on the website.

There are five derelicts:

Chevrolet Bel Air 1955
Ford Mustang 1965
NISSAN Fairlady ZG 1971
Chevrolet C10 Stepside Pickup 1965
VW Käfer 1963

This is an area of the game that doesn't need to be realistic though. I'd rather that be completely unrealistic with unlimited space to be honest

Yeah, I just saw that. Oh well.

Welp, here you go: "As you progress through Need for Speed Payback you’ll have the ability to purchase new garages, increasing the number of cars you can store in your virtual warehouse. Once you’ve acquired all five garages you’ll be granted access to the unlimited virtual warehouse space, allowing you to own an unlimited number of cars."

Based on footage seen so far, it looks like each garage has at least 3 normal spaces and one space for a derelict.... so... 20 cars total through purchasing garages and eventually unlimited via the virtual warehouse that we saw in NFS 2015. I can live with this.

"There’s also the Targeted Roll system which allows for a little more choice in terms of your chosen part, but comes at the expense of a few of your unwanted parts which need to be recycled."

Sounds interesting. I wonder if that's a misspell on "roll" and it's supposed to be "role." If so, it sounds like a cool new way to fine tune the role that particular car plays, e.g. grip, drift, off-road, etc..
If not, well... that statement makes no sense LOL.

"The level of your parts also help determine the tier of your car. If you’ve got a car with a set of level 1 parts applied to it, it’ll be Tier 1.0. Equip another car with level 18 (maximum level) parts and the tier will increase to 3.99."

18 is a lot of parts levels, allowing for some very infinite combinations. I like it!

"Take your performance further by equipping parts with associated perks.

Perks provide an additional bonus to many of your cars key performance areas; Top Speed, Acceleration, nitrous, Air and Braking. Get lucky and find parts with multiple perks to really push your performance to the next level.

Brand synergy is also of vital importance. Equip multiple parts from the same brand to receive an additional bonus to your performance. The performance increase all depends on the type of brand and what they specialize in, so pick carefully."

This is really cool. It adds a little bit of RPG element to customizing your vehicle.

That sounds alright to me too. Glad that you can at least, eventually, get unlimited space.

If it's anything like an RPG type random number generator, than I'm wondering if it'll "Roll" you a couple of parts to select from to unlock, and you'd have to pick the one you want most, essentially "recycling" those not selected and having to wait for another roll if you want those other parts.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh...... yeah, you're probably right. That makes sense

Knowing if it's an RNG style, Probably will get the same part like hundreds of time just to annoy everyone into playing more.

Then with EA, have a "Silver" trophy for acquire all modifications, and will be going on for years and years.

Everyone should consider calming down a little and realize that gamescom is where their attention is, when it comes to showing new things.

This is just a teaser, to tide us over.

You're acting like this is the last thing we'll see before the game comes out.

After looking at the gameplay trailer, the gameplay itself really reminds of Hot Pursuit 2010. I have looked at some customization videos and so far the customization does look somewhat convincing. However, I am not sure how I feel about this game so far. Right now I feel like if I have a lot of other games I intend to get this Christmas, I may not consider this one since I may have so many other games I am more confident in. I will of course give it some more time and see what else is revealed before making my final decision.

Just to see the F-Type with the Full Body kit is awesome and now to have handling/tuning adjusting on the road (Live). I have been on/off NFS 2015 lately and on the PS4 Pro it looks great and the photo mode is excellent. I believe I read they are also making it PS4 Pro ready which will be cool. Those mountains in 4k pics . I have asked if Snap Shot Pro photomode is returning but no confirmation yet.

If the video is titled "Customization Trailer", it's not unreasonable to expect to see something new regarding customization, especially after we saw a screenshot of a VW Golf with neons yesterday. Instead, all we learned about is how to get performance upgrades.

I dunno man, I think it's just you. There is all kinds new info on the website.

I agree, they could've shown more. Especially when there are 30 videos of the 350z being customized at E3.

They have to sell their game to casual fans with these trailers, sadly that means the content gets neutered.

I'm reserving my pitchfork for after gamescom.

Some people on the NFS reddit complainined about the lack of footage too.

All I wanted to see was video of the new customization in-game, even if it was just a few seconds. They could have breifly showed a car doing doughtnuts to demonstrate the colored tire smoke and the menu for the neons in the garage. Just something simple like that. It's not a tall request.

But yeah, I doubt we'll get anything else until Gamescom, which is a month from now. I hope we finally see proper race gameplay there as well.

Have they increased the pricing on this NFS game (digital) deluxe is £79.99  ($105/EU90), I'm sure 2015 it was £59.99 for the Deluxe. Are any of you pre-ordering this for the 3 day early access and the extras. I took a screenshot to show what you get (EU) for the Deluxe digital version. I will definitely pick the game up on release, and I know people won't like me saying this but I actually really enjoyed the game  and still playing it now trying to get my head around the corners, but it is fun and the exhaust sounds are great. The graphics are stunning on PS4 Pro, so to see all this in daylight will be cool.

Which version mmmm...

p.s Is it offline play as well or online only (confirmed yet?)

I'm pretty certain offline play was confirmed immediately upon release announcement.

Watching the customization trailer again, I'm pretty hyped for this game. Last NFS I bought was the 2012 Most Wanted remake, but looks like they're finally getting around to some of the stuff I've been waiting for: deep customization, classic muscle and offline play. Ready to see more.

There's three racing games I'm waiting for this year, and this isn't one of them. Although, I'm waiting to get pleasantly surprised, who knows if they have something up their sleeves.

Not exactly, most of us are (well, at least I'm) just waiting for the game to appear at gamescom...which is less than a week away, IIRC.
Don't get me wrong, i want to give this game a chance,im just saying there seems to be no hype like Forza or Gt series.

^^ Nope, never will be until it starts improving. It has to start winning over critics. Right now, people you could call "fans" like myself have to turn a blind eye to the flaws in order to enjoy it.

Right now, there's nothing really much to talk about with the game until we see more revealed.
