Need for Speed - The Movie | March 14, 2014

@SuperShouden the cars are replicas.

...and has anyone else noticed that the Veyron has the wrong air intakes?

Movie = ruined

I thought that from the moment I saw the first video of it being filmed that the Veyron had the wrong intakes and was simply painted like the Super Sport. Also the P1 has no active rear wing. Furthermore, why a Sesto? They could have used a Murcielago or an Aventador, but they went with a track-only car.

Still waiting for that Call of Duty movie announcement.

No wait, that was that godawful "war" movie that used real SEALs who couldn't act for toffee.

The new trailer looks intense if you ask me. Who cares if the crashes look unrealistic: It's a NFS based movie after all :lol:

Like I said, I'm looking forward to this 👍

Not fun fact: The director of that film also directed this film. Guessing you're gonna go on an angry rant, I suppose?

What?

There's an NFS movie? I thought that was what Fast and Furious pretty much was... Maybe I'm wrong. I guess EA decided that hogging the Porsche license wasn't bringing enough money, so they decided to make a film.

Or they saw how much F&F have made in total over the years and realized that was one massive cash cow they could try at.

Honestly, it's going to be better than F&F in my opinion. They're not "try harding" this film at all, also; a sidenote, Aaron Paul deserves this roll. His performance in Breaking Bad was incredible and I'm happy to see he's getting a good roll.

F&F became a pretty standard drug ring/theft/revenge story after the first one. Not saying it's a bad thing, I actually really enjoyed the series and it's complete disregard for physics, just that it's really not what I'd call an NFS movie. With the exception of Tokyo Drift, anyway, that and NFS Carbon are practically identical in terms of atmosphere.

And the story written by people who most recently wrote Flight I'm not too worried about the story being unbearable. I use to nitpick films that missed details, but when they're this blatant about ignoring reality I actually really enjoy it. It's when movies pretend to be realistic and fail that I lose interest. And with Aaron Paul as the lead and a pretty decent supporting cast I have pretty high hopes that at the very least it'll be a good time.

To me, it reminds me of both the cover of Need for Speed: The Run and all those old car culture film posters combined into one.
That is what i thought, it seems like they really trying to promote how they will capture the old 70s car movies in this movie. I hope this doesnt suck, at least dont suck badly. A 5/10 for this kind of movie is good.

On The Set Video from E3:

Seems like crazy fun to film but I doubt the finished product will be all that amazing. I mean I like F&F because we know the characters and the setting - it's all familiar to us but this might suck as it appears to just mirror F&F with less known actors and substance that doesn't look like it will pull the audience in. I have a feeling this movie will feel sterile in the sense of emotion and acting.

after seeing the trailer once again and observing the cars in the trailer, i say screw the supercars and the mustang, the 1969 Ford Torino Fastback driven by Aaron Paul's character is what i'm interested in now. There are no details about that car besides the SEMA pictures and videos and thats only the small bit of it.

Aaaaaaannnnd they're still using the fake cars... for the posters. :rolleyes:
Not to mention the horror of... POST-CONVERTED 3D!!! :banghead:

yeah i thought it was crap, although it fits the NFS theme itself, but still they couldnt afford to at least use the real ones just for the poster, the first poster really hyped me tbh, it had that 70s movie vibe. the first poster made the film seems different and interesting, the second poster just screams 'Redline' lol

I just saw a trailer from an indonesian movie called Street Society. Unlike NFS, they used real super cars ranging from Mclaren MP4 to Aventador. But lol the racing scenes are poorly edited, you can tell they fast forward it too much. After seeing that trailer, i have to watch the NFS trailer again just to forget about that poor excuse of a movie. I'll be honest, NFS and the FF series look more realistic "race scene" wise than that joke.

Exactly my thoughts...

And I mean...come on! That's not a real Veyron... :ill: it doesn't look that bad on NFS games...

Tbh, except for the Agera, the P1, and the GTA Spano, everything else looked like the real one, i can't find any difference between the veyron replica in the movie and the real one, apart from the spoiler and the headlights. I never pay much attention to veyrons in general anyway lol

Btw the reviews from the advance screening shows that this movie is not that bad compared to other video game movies. Everyone has rated it 6-7/10 and they have been saying that the movie is fun, Aaron Paul, Kid Cudi and Dominic Cooper did a great job on their characters, sounds good for a video game movie. That said, i will watch this movie without any high expectation.
