For me this is Heat 2.0 with Animu, i hope this will be located in some fictional Tokyo city

Maybe i play this game if it appearing in the PS Plus or under 5 dollars like Payback or heat.

If true, it addresses my main concern. The other one is toggleable art thingy.
Car list is meh, but it is what it is.

Doesn't seem like it has any Ray tracing tech. Requirements seem a bit higher than expected too.

Not too many new cars in it but I hope there are plenty of car customisation parts for them:
  • BMW M1 1981 (Excalibur)
  • Bugatti Chiron Sport
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray (C8)
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible (C8)
  • Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
  • Ford Crown Victoria 2008 (Excalibur)
  • Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4
  • Lamborghini Urus
  • Mazda RX-8 Spirit R (R3)
  • Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
  • NisSan Silvia K’s (S14)
  • Nissan Z Prototype
  • Porsche Boxster 718 Spyder
New variants of cars that were in Heat:
  • Mercedes-AMG C 63 Convertible
  • Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
  • Ford Mustang GT Convertible (Facelift)
  • BMW M3 Convertible (E92)
No idea what is the "Excalibur" name behind Crown Vic and BMW M1, maybe cars with pre tuned variant like KS cars in Heat?

What is soo difficult, to put inside the things which made need for speed so huge in one game, and bring it out.
The forgot, need for speed had a realistic styled story like undercover in 2008 at the end of the huge era.
What the hell with this anime ****?

Shocking, a modern street racer is aimed at younger people, I know, couldn't believe it myself either.

There's more than enough racers that look identical these days, will always welcome something different.

It looks like a lot of fun to me, looking forward to it.

YES, but on the other side could you imagine Gran Turismo with anime elements? Never!
If they will do such significantly chances, it’s a blame for the legendary brand gran Need for speed.
I could cry, what they have done with my favorite game series in childhood.
It seems traditional players shouldn’t buy this series anymore so I follow this section.

Define traditional in terms of NFS? It's had so many iterations and flavours I don't think there is a definitive NFS game. Do you want something more like Pro Street or Shift? Or maybe NFS3 Hot Pursuit or NFS4 Road Challenge? Underground 2 or Carbon?

And of course Gran Turismo probably won't do anime, it's meant to be a more serious racing sim, virtually in a different genre to NFS. Mind you, music rally exists so never say never.

Heat was a surprisingly good NFS title, and I guess also to the surprise of EA itself, which didn't plan a big budget or post-launch support for it. This seems to go a similar route, looking to be a fairly focused title. Keeping this on the watchlist. I'm 47 btw (the age, not the assassin).

I hope the cops aren't in the game too much like previous titles :ill::rolleyes:. I'm hoping it's more like Underground 1 and 2 🤞

The jet set radio style graphics are interesting, but you just know the cut scene dialogue cringe is likely to be lurking coupled with horribly wayward driving. Traditionally a game made for a sale, with a short shelf life, but could this be the time the broken watch is right?

The massive influx of "Fortnite" comparisons are extremely laughable as they aren't even close. Really stretching just to say you hate it.

If we're really honest here (with no overly emotional bias and actual critical thinking), Need For Speed has no real cohesive identity, at least that I can find, outside of "Fast cars and outrunning police" (Something that's not even exclusive to the series if people have actually looked outside their bubble long enough) so the comparison to Gran Turismo is not even close considering both it and Forza Motorsport have distinctive identities. What even actually is Need For Speed? What actually makes a "real" Need For Speed game?
I'd argue that this massive change is actually a good thing because it finally decided to visually separate from everything else on the market. Not every driving game needs to be all hyper realistic all the time. Again, what is the difference when essentially everyone is doing the same thing?

Its not even a major change considering it just looks like Heat in a different location with rubbish cartoon effects tacked on.

It'd be fresh to me, as I haven't played a NFS game since Shift 2. I think the one with the M3 GTR was the very last "cops & street racer" NFS title I played in the franchise.

Having played Heat recently (After forgetting I owned it thanks to PS+), I'm not seeing it. Now we've only seen a trailer and no indicated gameplay so its not entirely the whole picture but so far, I'm having a hard time seeing how it looks exactly the same as heat. I can't mistake for any previous titles because right off the bat, I can identify it and that's something (Outside the Shift series because Motorsport) I haven't been able to do with an NFS title.

My dream was a title with Horizon 5 car handling and need for speed heat tuning options.
and more seriosity in the direction of horizon. But less seriosity than heat. That’s nothing for me.

It's nice for something different in the racing game landscape but this one isn't for me. It's a little too much and maybe juvenile. I guess that was said about Most Wanted and especially Underground back in the day. Which is fine but I guess I grew out of stuff like this? Don't see the anime feel like others say either, it's about as American as it comes.

All in all, looks quality and it's cool they're doing this but ehhhh can't get into it. Was hoping for them to build on the good parts of Heat.
