Mercedes add to maybach sth there isnt a chrom now there is a gold(24 carat)!!!!It is only car what are they doing there!!!!they are crazy!!!

Sweet child, do not fear, as the lord still loves you. :)

And the point of there being a thread about the shifter is?

Maybach can do that, because most of the people who buy them don't need to pinch pennies between what is on their shifter. In fact, most people who buy maybachs sit in the back seat.

You want to clear that up a bit?

Nope. Platinum. I don't see why Bentley or Rolls-Royce hasn't done that yet. Maybach is still a new name though, it's probably a publicity boost if anything. The cars are pretty nice from what I've seen (magazines), having the most leg room and a ton of features, except that it's underpowered and overly expensive, even if they do use use Eucalyptis wood (a reason why Koala's are nearly extinct) the car seems to be a little bit of bang for quite the buck. I guess this is supposed to fix that or something. They just need to get their name out, and hopefully do somehting for GM's name.

HA HA HA!!!! Maybach is new???? Your joking right??? Wilhelm Maybach and Gottlieb Daimler are credited for creating the FIRST CAR EVER!!! And, the 1929 Maybach 12 DS was the first ever car to have a V12 engine. If they are considered new, what the hell could possibly be old??? A little study of automotive history will tell you a lot.

And, what is that about GM??? Maybach has nothing at all to do with GM. They are a brand division of Mercedes Benz, which is part of the Daimler-Chrysler group. Not at all involved with GM.

Er... what? I don't think anybody's called the twinturbo Mercedes V12s, either in 5.5L (Maybach) or 6.0L (AMG 65 variants) underpowered. Especially considering that the Maybach's class consists of it, the Phantom (6.75L NA V12), and the Arnage (6.75L turbo V8). Anything that obscenely big that can hit 60mph in under six seconds is pretty impressive. I would say it's main problem is that it looks like a two-tone S-Class that was beaten by the ugly stick until it caved in, after which someone decided to pump it full of air, but left it on the pump for too long. 359 - I think it's around 900nm, can't think of how many lb-ft that is, but I do know the Maybach makes a bit less than the AMGs, which are pinned at 737lb-ft. Unless you meant without the weak-link transmission, because I remember hearing that's the reason the engines have been torque-limited.

And GM? Huh?

I disagree with the Arnage being in the same class as the Maybach.

...and I say chocolate milk is the only healthy drink.

Care to elaborate?

Price Brackets
Luxury (Maybach more so)
Bentley is driver-orientated
Bentley is to be driven- Maybach is to be driven in.
Maybach is much bigger.

A german car mag has taken the Maybach 62 out on the Nurburgring. It set a time just over 9 minutes on a busy track. So I reckon it could lap the Ring in under 9 minutes when it's free. Not bad for a 20 feet 6200 lbs monster, eh?

Meh , we do have better then that.

:D

Yah, and before the Maybach 52 and 62 or w/e their called, when was the last car made? It's a revived company. Therefore making it new. If the Deusenberg came back it would still be considered new, because they havent made anything in like 75 years. And one of the Maybachs (the shorter one, being that their both huge) is a drivers car. The baybach 67 or 62 or w/e is the driven car. Apparently this car (according to C&D) is far too slugish for what the engine is producing. So don't get mad @ me, get mad at C&D- I know M5Power does.

[Edit] Yes, apparently GM is the one responsible for reviving Maybach. [Edit]

[EditEdit]DaimlerChrysler. Which is just as bad. [EditEdit]

Its not a NEW company though. Sure, its been gone for some time now. But, its not new. And, its always been involved with MB, so its not like they just went out and picked a company to revive and have as a high end line. These are NEW models in the Maybach brand, but not a new brand.

And, I think your missing the point of both of these cars. Doesn't matter what any of the mags say, neither of these cars are "drivers" cars. They are both built with max comfort and luxury in mind. They have some decent power underhood, making them decently quick, but I wouldn't call either fast or sporty. Much the same with the RR Phantom. Whether I was driving, or being driven in one of these, I don't think speed or handling would be a major concern of mine. I would want something thats comfy, quiet, luxurious, and elegant. If you want a car this size thats sporty, get the MB S65 AMG, or Jag XJ, or even a Audi A8 or S8. Those are big, luxurious, and sporty-ish sedans. The Maybachs and Phantoms are not.

No, If that's a question, but since you ended it with an exclamation mark, I was a little perplexed. :boggled:

Did you know that Maybach also made the engines for the Graf Zepplin and the hindenburg?

No I was telling the people that they made trains. The Hindenburg eh? Never knew that before.

Well Duh... it's doesn't waste enough money. :dopey:

damn it... I need a smiley that's dopey, rolleyes and odd all rolled into one. That would be the ultimate smiley.

Damnit is one word, damn it is two words.
In the second case there, there's a space between them.

What if the car came with a driver when you bought it? That'd show up Rolls for sure.
