New Car sounds a must?

Or maybe they've played the game and know what a bangup job they've done with engine sounds:ouch: so far and wanted to avoid the embarassment of their beautiful turbo V8 sounding like a muffled V6:lol:

Hopefully they slapped a couple of 14in MB training wheels on the PD sound crew for a foreign information exchange program

It definitely needs an improvement. Just listen to the Supra from GT5... Yeah it is a must. Especially since it is a simulator it needs to have real sounds. Much better sounds. That's one of the main things about why we love cars. For the beautiful sounds they make.

I am really looking forward to hear the aventador in GT6. Will it still have the V10 soundsample or did the V12 finally arrive :dopey:

Obviously GT6s samples must improve or at least be linked to the right cars

Not for me. Would better sounds be nice? Sure. But I just don't care that much. GT is a driving game, not Guitar Hero.

I'm sure anyone who is into cars will agree that the sound a car makes has a lot to do with it's appeal.

It's one of the things that makes cars exciting! You already miss out on the sensation of G forces when playing a game, so without descent sound the whole experience can feel a bit dull...

A must in GT7, because of the new hardware.
But I don't think it's necessary for GT6, just give me more & better A spec races I will be happy.

Channel mixing should be fixed, maybe small improvements to sound would be nice.
GT5 loses dolby channels on some views and mixes sounds improperly together, and sound goes to that "vacuumcleaner" sounds, incar/bumber cams sounds works mostly right, only balances between channels are bit fussy on default, for better sounds you need to raise rear channel and bass channel volumes, more on rear than on bass.

Do i think this game extremely needs new sounds? yes. Do i personally think GT5 sounds are just fine for me? Yes.

I know GT5's sounds are very far off. But its not like they sound terrible. There just not accurate.

People all agreeing, but isn't that the main reason we buy high quality car games? because we want to experience something that we probably won't ever get to do in real life.. and that is drive all those cars in GT. But if we aren't guaranteed an authentic engine sound it just ruins the overall experience for me.

I've never really cared for the engine sounds until I heard the Veyron in GT5 and GT PSP, it's the only one that really bugged me. It's not a necessity for me for GT6, but defiantly is for GT7.

I saw the poll and when I see that 27 people don't care about car sounds, I think they better go play call of duty or something else... This is supposed to be a race game, which has to include car sounds, doesnt it?!

I voted no, I play with either headphones or studio monitors, sounds good to me. If you play them through your TV then ya, it sounds really bad, like everything else .

So I'll stick with racing! If you don't like it YOU go play Call of Duty!

Yeah but i mean PD is working on trying to create a better engine sound and so long as they keep pushing to give us a better product then im happy. Its not like they know there bad and refusing to even try.

-We complained about Tires. Now there giving us better tire model
-We complained about Suspension. Now there giving us a new suspension model.
-We complained about Sound. Now there doing there best to provide a better method of getting sound.

There trying and the game is still one of the best sims that anyone can buy.

I can let the same or similar sounds slide for GT6 in favor of better resolution/physics/graphics/features etc. However if GT7 rolls around in a few years and the sound is still the same... well, I just wouldn't know what to do with myself.

Not sure if you are joking or not but that there is the wrong thing to say with a guy who probably love the series as much as you do and want the best for it.

Racing is all about every detail as you can have. The most details, the most immersion you can have.

Try old games such as Race07/GTR2 or now Assetto Corsa, listen to the engine sounds and the in car sounds (suspension noise, the paddle shifter noise, wind noise at high speeds, the rocks hitting under the car if go out of track, the difference in the engine sound position and note from each camera depending in where you are which with a 5.1 is incredible...if the engine is at the back you can listen it right there...etc)...The key is how much immersion you can get when you get used to that which is the closest to realism that you can get...and then you don´t actually have it in the other hand.

I understand you love GT and you will defend it to death...but telling other guy that "go play CoD" is totally out of place...

People like me who wants and cares for better sounds...wants that GT gets better for all...not just for me...The day we all get realistic engine sounds, we´ll stop asking for it...and you know what? You will enjoy having them as much as I will for sure.

Remember we drive cars...cars should sound like they really are. ;)

I like what I just read about the Mercedes Benz vision GT concept with regard to sound.. "The MB engineers have put a custom sound package together for this vehicle in GT6"

This I believe, will be the future of GT, another sign that PD working so closely with manufacturers will bring what's needed for an authentic sound experience in game.

@Foxiol

Agreed, I only said that because he said "anyone who voted no better go play cod instead". Re-read a few posts back.

Why should I play something else when I don't have such strong complaints? I'm optimistic, I'll find a way to make anything work, could it be using an eq or bass boosted headphones, it works great for me.

Edit, I have driven every car so I can't comment on wrong samplesand whatnot.

I went out and bought better speakers so my gt5 doesn't sound as bad as some people using there TV speakers. But the only thing that bugs me mainly is when you get cars like the sauber c9 with a high pitched engine sound but in life it sounds like a deep muscle car.

That's what bugs me mainly. I love the sauber. But without premium view and proper sounds. Its more irritating to drive than it is enjoyable. :(

Yes. It's a must. I really hope they improve a bit after they promised an update on sounds. So far I've noticed that they fixed the sound in the Huayra from previous demos were it sounded like the BMW M5. It now sounds like a V12. In the video that was posted in the news section, almost at the end of it you can notice the sound of the M3 GT being very accurate to a racing V8, although slightly lower pitched than the real car. still that's a huge improvement judging how terrible PD is with race car sounds.

In the same M3 game play video I noticed that the rest of cars do have the same sounds as in GT5, so I we can't really tell how much these "improved sounds" are used.

Dude I am right with you! That is my favorite car in the game and I hate the V10 sound!

Yeah, I played the Rfactor Demo from the G27, and I just couldn't stop playing! I did around 100+ laps on this little track!
