If your lag is worse then the problem is your connection

What a waste of 100mbps. It doesn't matter wheather you have a 100000000mbps. 100Mbps does not guarantee a perfect connection, it just gives you an optimal speed. In the end of the day the problem is not with anyones connection, it is probably with PD's servers, hence why there is no world event. Till they sort that problem there will be nothing anyone can do.

So can we now stop the peeing contest, as to who has the better connection. Your lucky enough to live in a part of the world where you get 100mbps. We aren't we have only just realised 50mbps on a cable system, on a phone line we are lucky if we get 16mbps that is useless until BT (British Telecom), get their act together and update all the telephone exchanges.

I'm pretty sure that the fact that you are hosting from New Zealand has more to do with people's lag than their own local network.

I only have 7 MBPS, and I have a decent connection when you host. I'm just geographically closer to you than Europe is.

Point is, we can argue back and forth, but since we don't know the inner-workings of PD's server network, everything means absolutely bubkis.

And when someone takes their own effort to edit your ego out of your own post, you should take it as a suggestion.

You are missing my point. We all have fast enough connections to run as host online. The problem is with PD, their servers aren't right for running world events. Like is said hence the reason there are no world events.

While there is this problem you as host will cause problems for us in Europe, and us as host will cause problems for you. Download speed has nothing to do with it.

Once the flood of "0's" and "1's" leave your play-station, wiggle their way to an undisclosed warehouse in Japan, and get flung thousands of miles through third world countries, and through smoggy atmosphere....

.....only to be caught by underfunded municipal information companies.....

.....I doubt 8 MBPS will mean anything.

I have a slower connection than Grim, and I run my PS3 wireless. Yet I have less lag when you host. Just proves that location is orders of magnitude more important than download speed. The argument of GTP guy 1 and GTP guy 2 in the same hosting country is moot, since that is rarely your case.

All i know, and all you know, is that the game chooses me, i didnt ask for it to happen, but when i saw lag of gt5p on youtube before i got my ps3, i got one of the fastest connections i could hoping it would be better, and after watching the 5-6 videos of my hosting, i can honestly say its much better than what i saw

Littlebit sad, that this game does this kind of things. Lets hope things will be better.

I've been watched many times one race from monday with TVR's, and wondering strange thing what happened to you when driving front of me.

When you have time, could you watch this video and try to remember what happened in lap 2. Something aint right there, how your car flies off track... it may be physics-bug in the game, or lag. I dont know, but it looks weird.

Tonight is the last night for the base event, so we're going with the 512BB. Anyone has a setup for this to have in post #2?

(note: I only have a 3G HSPA connection and found that I only see lag when Tizzla is hosting. I used to think it was my connection but maybe his upload not feeding us back properly... so PD needs to review the requirements for hosting races. But don't want to get that argument started again, please)
